The normally quiet and peaceful Tesla's involvement in World War I and II left him with a grim view. He was helpful in stopping several schemes worthy of 'science fiction'. These were the 'supernatural' foes created and caputed by Hitler. They were in fact alien and some odd human experiments to make super soldiers. These days he does not talk about.

After several adventures along side a like minded Immortal named Charles Darwin he came to conclusion that as tough as people could be they had some hope. As Darwin said, "Things change and evolve in this world. Should we as part of it (this world) not also change?"

It was the glimmer of hope in humanity that made him join Torchwood. After binding with Sapphire he found more reasons to stay to with Torchwood. Not onlywas he concernd they would miss use such a power; His roll as a memeber of the movement also made him.

He is considered eccentric by his fellow scientist. Tesla is a member the secretive 'evolutionary technologist' Movement. The movement consists of several scientist and Industrialists that strive that record and watch the technological changes in the world as they occur. The reason why has been unclear.

Even the membership is fairly unknown. Nikkola has mentioned Charles Darwin and Samual Clemmens in a way one talks about friends. All in all as Immortals go he's pretty much what torchwood antcipated.

Level needs adjusting and some skills need to be filled in...but here's the basic. History is pretty much already there. But only up to the 1940-50's..

After that he took up working for Torchwood as a free lancer and continued his experiments.

Looks like Tesla and Sapphire should get along well - they can both relate to a fear of dirt and muck!

But Tesla doesn't have to "wear" Sapphires's ring does he? Cause it looks like he'd hate that. Is it enough to keep it in a box?

I actually visualized the ring as a black band that is simple with silver ruins on the inside. But without the magic words would be stuck with it on. A once off can not come off unless the ritual/words are spoken...

So, we either need:

1.) A different "thing" other than a ring.

2.) Tesla needs a different insanity than jewelry...

or

3.) Someone else should take Sapphire's ring.

Taifuu is the son of Fuijin, the japanese god of wind and a shinto priestess, Minako Nagisa. Taifuu grew up always knowing that he was special. His mother kept him from the rest of the world knowing that both the forces of man and supernatural would be interested in Taifuu for their nefarious purposes. As he grew, Taifuu excelled in the martial arts growing in talent and strength that he soon began to out pace his own masters. He began to grow arrogant and careless, sometimes injuring fellow students during training sessions.

It didn't help that the only person he respected was his mother. The rest he considered inferior to his martial arts skills and the budding knowledge that he was far more then a mere common man.

That finally change when his mother had enough of his bad attitude and decided it was time Taifuu to meet his father. It was quite a family reunion on the slopes of Mt. Fuji when his father came to meet his son and set him straight on his heritage and what was expected of him. Mother ducked to the side as father was tested by young turk. The conclusion came a quick five mintues later as Taifuu lay in a small crater, smoldering. It was a embarassing and humbling experince and left Taifuu with much to think about.

Then came the turbalent times of war. He sat out and watch the world change from the shrine on the moutain and watch the countries leaders make fateful, sometimes, terrible descisions that the country into ruin. He saw these leaders act almost the same way he had in the beginning, not just bulling, but also destorying lives and murder. He decided the the life he had attempted to lead would no longer be the path he travels. Taifuu would live a life trying to help others and battle against the kind of evil that ruined the Japanese nation. He began to practice this by fighting against the legencary creatures of the land. Always aiding those who called for help. He quickly advanced his martial arts skills once more besting the worst oni that he fought.

The saddest day of his life was when his mother passed away after living a long life dedicated to teaching and healing. Fujin assured Taifuu that she was elevated from her position on the mortal world to his side in the Celestial Court. He made sure that Taifuu would not be left alone in his grief. Fujin began him in a new direction of training with the elements of Air. Since his power was already signifcant perhaps he was disciplined enough to control the winds as his father did. Taifuu took to the challenge, bearing the life mark of the element of air.

Forty years has gone by and Taifuu once again grows restless to see how the rest of the world is going. He decide its time to gain training worth knowing about the people who live in the world and beyond. The more challenges and more chances to help people along the way.

Well if Tesla don't or can't use the ring, Taifuu can find it. He can frustrate her on his lack of knowledge on society at large.

On a side thought we could write that into an amusing story on how he got the ward as well. Example - Upon Tesla finding the Box with the Gem, the amulet (Staff) and a plain black band with silver runes on the inside. Upon touching the gem the ring immidiately teleports on to his finger.

Taifuu - Not sure who would be frustrated more, you have to remember Sapphire has not been active for probably 1000's of years. But you are right, being a slave does build social skills, prolly a little overboard but still the skills will be there.

There's also Allan... But, I don't know quite how he would have had it... Unless, he saw the gemstone (he likes gems) and got the other items through it?

Tesla can make an exception for the ring. Call it therapy. Phobias need to be conquered and being immortal it will be a good story arc. And the ring makes sense to motivate that. and after finding out he's immortal a little thing like a phobia to jewelry becomes more tolerable.

All the phobias are in his history. I thought I'd add what was only in his history. all in all he'll be your proverbial mad scientist like in most Dr. Walter Bishop on fringe.

Aki and companion [yet to be named and stated] come out of Northern Korea. The diminutive female wears woven footwear and fiber clothing. she will go barefoot over wearing 'leather boots/footwear'.

Aki barely speaks, but seems more like a sprite of nature compared to the others in the group.

Barely reaching the 5'3" mark and at 84 pounds, she is indeed the smallest and lightest member, aside from her Mongoose companion.

Little is known about Aki's background. She chooses not to speak about it. Blood tests or fingerprints will show that she was a passenger on a plane crash years ago in the mountains of North Korea. ALL were assumed lost in the disaster.

She had been sent to live with her father's great aunt after the parents were killed. Was the crash an accident? No one really knows for sure.

She lived the last 12 years with some strange hermit in the high mountains. She learned his fighting style. On his deathbed, he gave her his treasured Sai and told her to "go among the people and help them now. Your past is dead and gone when I found you. Take your little friend with you and seek your fortune."

She left.

Finding some soldiers snooping the area, she followed them. Faint echoes of memory stirred with their words [American]. She said "Hello Moto?" while hiding behind a tree. Watching with delight at the panicked response she waited beside the tree in view and was looked over until Yumi hissed at them. Aki heard Yumi's comment of "Stinky feet" and started to laugh while nibbling on some leaves for food.

She simply pointed out the 2 obvious ones .. then pointed her thumb over the shoulder at the last one creping up behind her. "Hello moto .. "

Grins then hops off the small rock and vanishes out of view behind a bush and then into the clearing to pick up the irate mongoose with a faint chittering and mumbling and offering it some raw fish instead of human leg.
