Beside Remy, Kitty's head poked through the wall, out of harm's reach. " You are you, right? And not one of those whatever they ares all the troops have turned into?" She asked, sounding scared.

"I'm me, Cherie. And it is good to see you in one piece." Gambit says. Looking around, and not really sure what's going on, Gambit says, "A MODOK is a kind of psychic mumbo jumbo that's probably controlling the troops."

Looking at Gambit for a moment, she emerged from the wall only to throw herself into his arms. She was trembling, but putting on a brave face otherwise. " I'm glad to see you, but..., " she looked up at him," what are you doing here? Is the rest of the team with you?"

Gambit gives her the hug back that she needs to feel a little more secure.
"When it comes to rescueing a lady," Gambit says, "I don' need a team."
Helping her to stand on her own, he says, "Where are the others? I need to know what's going on here."

" Charmer." Kitty smirked as she pushed Remy back slightly. " Always the charmer. I'm not really sure what is going on. I know we got boarded by AIM, but they aren't what they seem. They're more like monsters or something. They hearded alot of the SHIELD people down into the brig , then they too started acting funny when they were let out. I know the Colonel was still free with a small group. I was trying to find him or Dr. Banner, we don't know what happened to him."

" Yeah. yeah, you're right." Kitty nodded. " He'd be tearing this place apart right now if he was with you anyways, trying to find me, the big lug."
After a couple wrong turns, Gambit and Kitty find a stairwell that should lead up to the bridge. Unfortunately, the snow blowing down the stairwell, didn't paint a positive picture.

The Star Spangled Avenger moves closer to the Russian X-man as their opponents advance around them. "They're too many and we don't have bearings, we need to clear a path or we'll be surrounded." He smiles as inspiration hits him. "I know what we can do...I believe you X-Men refer to it as a "fastball special"?"

I'm not getting a positive picture, with that snow blowing down. Gambit thinks, thought bubblely. "Alright. One quick look. I don't want to be too vulnerable. After that, you think of somewhere we'ld find the Colonel, or the people in charge."

Colossus smiled, then nodded. " I think Wolverine would approve." He picked up Cap with ease and prepared to throw him at the four troops blocking the corridor.
* * * * *
" Let me look" Kitty replied, using her powers to go look safety. " Nothing up here but alot of snow, and it's cold. Half the windows are smashed out, like something exploded up here." She was starting to chatter her teeth by the time she was finished talking.
