Lt. Norrin looked over at Rhys, shaking his head. " Why is it CSOG missions always go to heck as soon as we hit the ground?" Norrin shook his head, " On second thought, don't answer that."
" Luietenant? We've got some sort of pursuit off to the east." The Demon Locust's pilot called back to the troop compartment. " Looks like it might be one of our Mark V's involved."
Norrin looked over at Rhys. " Well sargeant, shall we take a look?"

With McCain's distraction, the Big Boss had opened up a sizable lead. Unfortunately, the pecos pursuers now had company in the form of a pair of Mountaineers and a half dozen hovercycles as they raced acrossed the open plain of the desert towards Lone Star. With a snort that startled dyson, Shep came to. " How we doing, folks?"

Sam smirks as she continues to try to avoid their pursuers "Just great." she snarks "Just a lovely drive through the desert." Glancing back, her tone softens "Save your strength, Shep."

Norrin nodded to Rhys before shouting to the pilot. " Let's buzz them and see who flinches."
" You got it, luietenant." The pilot replied and banked hard.

Shep coughed," No offense LT, but there isn't gonna be much to save my strength for at this rate." Ahead of the Big Boss, a large black shape swooped into their path in the distance and started coming right at them. the Demon Locust gunship passed directly overhead. Both Mar from her perch and McCain could see the raiders took potshots at the helicopter as it passed over.

A few thumps against the fuselage told those aboard that it wasn't one of the CS' Mark V's. " It's your call," Norrin told the pilot," but this isn't our fight." He looked at Rhys for his opinion.

Mariana, seeing the helicopter, decided to give her CS comm and try. "This is Sgt. Smith, CSOG. Fleeing Macklin land, pursued by unfriendlies with stolen CS gear. Locust, respond."

*Looking to the Lt then looking over what is chasing the Big Boss.* "I think for now it's best we do what we can to get our boys and girls out of the fire then get out of here." *Using his Cybernetic eye to scan the area with Telescopic vision to see if he can get a better idea of the numbers of bogeys*

" I think your right, Rhys." Norrin replied with a nod. Into the comm, " Let's give our folks some breathing room."
"copy that, LT."
Over the squad's radio came a reply. " Copy Smith, some friends on board wanted to say hello. stand by."
The Helicopter looped hard and came around to cut acrossed the line of vehicles, it's rail gun and missile pods cutting Macklin's forces to shreds. after the first pass, onlt the Mark V and one of the mountaineers were still mobile, and both were turning tail before the Demon Locust could come around for a second pass.
" You're in the clear folks."

Sam sighs in relief as Macklin's forces are driven away and she asks Marianna "Can you please tell them that we've got wounded who need immediate medical attention." Sam looks for a good place to stop the vehicle and wonders who it is that is on board that are 'some friends.'

Rhys looks to the Lt, "We need to find a clear spot for us to land so we can get those wounded on board and get them out of here," *starts scanning the area for a clearing that will fit the Locust, using his Cybernetic enhanced eye to assist*

Lt. Norrin nodded, pointing at his earpiece." Pilot's already working on it. He says that it's level enough just ahead."

The helicopter shot ahead of the squad's escape by a half mile and touched down . The pilot kept the engines running. shep looked around at the others before asking," Who needs medical attention? Is Mar hurt?" He sounded genuinely concerned.

Rhys continously scans the area round the chopper making sure that the area is secure. Using all means available to him to do so.

When McCain sees the helo swoop in on the straffing run he goes out wide to the flank to avoid being a target and then speeds up to catch the rest of the group.

Mariana tossed the next empty rifle into the hold of the mountaineer with a clatter grabbing the next one. "Me? Hurt?" She scoffs. "What do you take me for?"
"Boss... LT, the helo's touching down, chase is broken we should make for it."
On the radio, he says, "McCain, while the others set out, we're making sure these aren't useable. Got it?"

Sam gives Shep a 'Are you serious?' look as she replies "Who's hurt? Have you looked in a mirror lately? You're hurt!"
Sam nods at Mariana "Good idea. Everyone, get ready to head out." Sam grabs her rifle and keeps an eye out for any sign of enemy fire as she waits for the others to get ready.

Shep scoffed despite Dyson bracing his weight as he stood. " I've been alot worse, LT."
Once they exited the Big Boss, Lt. Norrin stepped from the Demon Locust with Rhys in tow. " He shouted over the roar of the rotor wash. " You folks need a lift?"
