McCain passes the exit and sets up in a good spot from where he can from cover shot and blow the shells. He waits for a couple of minutes to see if he can trap anyone following in the blast.

Though there were no shouts of agony with the explosion, there were a few distant"Hey, over there" calls. In the town, more sirens began to sound and the streets began to clear.
" Well this isn't good." Shep muttered, Dyson supporting him.

"Well, I'm sure one day, we'll live up to your standards." Mariana sighs. "But, until then, we're rescuing you, and gratitude and hope are your friends. So is your silence." She looks around. "Might as well make for the barn, or steal something better."

Sam nods "Either we find some wheels and quickly, or we're going to have to find a place to hide for a bit. Either way, let's move before they catch up."

" I'll be fine." Shep protested. " Let's just keep going. I don't want to enjoy Macklin's hospitality a third time."

Sam replies at Dyson, "Then let's get off the streets, shall we?" She nods at Shep, "I don't think any of us really want to enjoy Macklin's hospitality." Sam starts to lead the others to the side, in the hopes of not being noticed and keeps an eye out on Shep to make sure he doesn't look like he's going to pass out on them from the pain of his injuries.

Somehow, the squad managed to make it back to their entry point until being spotted. " There!" Someone shouted. " Stop right there!"
" I guess this is where things get fun?" Dyson asked.
" Looks like it to me." Shep replied with a cough.

McCain makes it back up to the group in time to hear the yells to stop. He brings his rifle up and starts to scan for targets.

"Fun for me. Everyone, continue to the barn. Come out and get me, then we jet out of here." Mariana says, pulling off her helmet. "I'll hold him off."
"Hi Jakie." She says, in a sweet, but icy voice, stepping closer as she does, and into her TK range. When she's in range, she starts telekinetically squeezing the guy's throat. "Remember me? Oh, I'm sure you do." She continues, sauntering over. "Cat got your tongue?"

Sam nods at Mariana and tells the others "Keep going. Dyson, help Shep if he needs it. Let's move." She continues towards the barn, hoping their ride is either waiting for them or will be coming very quickly.

Their rides are right where they left it when they get inside the barn and untouched. " Guess we aren't riding in style." Shep muttered as Dyson helped him in the ATV. There was a rattling of someone at the door. " Come out of there!" called a voice.
"You!" Hissed one of Macklin's luietenants before clutching his throat futilely. He managed to whisper hoarsely to the quartet of soldiers accompanying him, " Shoot her!"
The four, distracted by Jake's struggle, began to bring their L-20's to bear on Mar, the quickest of them snapping off a shot that missed badly over her shoulder.

Sam smirks at Shep and replies "Sorry. Tried to get a limo, but they'd all been taken."
Hopping into the ATV, Sam quickly gets it ready to go and tells McCain, "Be ready to discourage anyone from shooting at us. Dyson, once Shep is comfortable, help him." When she hears the voice calling for them to come out of the barn, she chuckles and mutters, "Well, all right. But only because you asked so nicely." Sam then guns the engine and drives out of the barn as quickly as she can and radios Mariana "We're on our way."

"Thanks." Mariana says over the radio. To the other wussy guards, she says, "You all fail. Run while you can. Losers." Pulling out the Naruni rifle, she unloads hot plasma in their direction until the ride arrives.

McCain smiles at the request heard by the door of the barn. He climbs on fires up his bike. While sitting on the bike he fires a plasma blast through the door in the direction of the voice before following Sam out. Making sure that the blast is not in Sam's or Mariana's direction.

McCain's blast through the door had caused Macklin's men outside the door to scatter before the Big Boss crashed through the door, followed by the bike.
Mar hit one of the guards, knocking him down while the others took cover and returned fire. only one of them managing to even come close (17 to hit, 8 md)
