Ch.39 Hiding from the Boogeyman (Alice)

" It's not murder. It's just garbage disposal." Tyson replied, glaring at the prisoner.

" Ty, they're right and you know it. You can't kill him." Jason chimed in.

" It will save taxpayers money." Tyler replied, turning back. He seemed to concentrate for a minute while staring at Null. " For the love of pete, even all tied up like that hes messing with our powers."

[Dome]

"I am glad to see you all are ok. Professor, thank you for helping us once again."

Solomon nods to Isamu "I can lend my skills to his prosecution" hearing Null is blocking them, Solomon frowns looking back to see the look of confusion and rage in Null's eyes "awake? yes, poor chap, don't have a clue what just happened to you, do you?"

"well, here's a clue. you're powers have absolutely no effect on me or my abilities, so now why don't you stop being troublesome before I decide to use some of my more unpleasant talents than anything you're experienced yet"

turning back to Alice "we should hurry. if the entrancement has worn off, the entrapment won't hold much longer. Mr. MacCoulter told me you and Isamu could help me and my friend. another reason we should hurry."

"really my mentor but Nathaniel is just as much a dear friend. his body won't last long without his psychic essence. I found his mind, but I can't reach him. I'll fill you in on the way if there's anything you can do to help us"

[Mierin]

Alice frowns quietly as Tyler mentions that Null is still messing with their powers. "Would that block Dmitri from using his powers then?" she asks. "That would make it a lot harder for us to get home, wouldn't it?"

Turning to Solomon, "We will do our best to try to help you and your friend" she says"but first we need to get back and get him taken care of."

[dakota]

Dmitri heard Alice's question and nodded. " Sorry, but as long as he can block us, it means we're walking home."

Jason walked over by Null, and whispered something in his ear. The hovering body of Null seemed to stiffen, and then Jason smirked wickedly," Try it now, Dim."

Behind Dmitri, one of his portals suddenly opened. " Express route to the beach, now boarding."

[Dome]

Isamu urges the others to go through. He follows last right before Dimitri.

Solomon waits for the others to go through first, then stepping through himself with Null in tow right before Dmitri, allowing Isamu to go through before him just in case Null gets any last minute ideas. being second to last means he won't be trying to strand anybody, and once on the other side, his powers hopefully can't affect Dmitri until he's safely through.

[Mierin]

Alice raises an eyebrow at Jason, wondering exactly what he had said to Null to cause that kind of reaction, but realizes that now isn't the time to question him about it. She quickly steps through the portal and waits for the others to follow.

[dakota]

Jason gave Tyler a brotherly hug, and said something low enough that no one else could hear before following through. Dmitri stepped through, and then the portal closed up. Jason explained, " Ty has to take the airboat back or he'll have to take the long way in next time."

He looked at Nul and cringed slightly," I hope we can get rid of him quickly."

" You can." Dylan answered from the doorway. " Jason, we need to have a talk."

" Yes sir." Jason replied, much like a child in trouble with his parents as he followed Dylan inside.

[Dome]

Isamu looks at Dimitri and the Professor. "Dimitri, Ashley, can you and the professor escort Null to the holding cells to await MacCoulter's transfer team. I need to sit down with Alice and explain what has happened in her absence."

Solomon , who was keeping an eye on Null, perks up "certainly" nodding to Ashley and Dmitri, leads the way with Null in tow

[dakota]

Once downstairs, Ashley smirked while Null opened a holding cell. " now remember Null, if you start playing games down here, we'll let Jason come pay you a visit, and he has his own key to the armory."

The prisoner stiffened, but made no sounds.


As Isamu and Alice were left alone, the voices in the next room were raising, sounding like MacColter and Jason were having a difference of opinion, though the actual words were muffled enough to not make them out.

"I'd like to go look in on my friend now, if you'll excuse me, I'll wait for Alice and Isamu" Solomon tells Ashley and Dmitri as he goes to check on Nathaniel

[Dome]

Isamu sits Alice down and explains what happened with the brothers and how they will be splitting up to avoid further trouble. He also tells her about Tom's confrontation with Ragnarok and the obtaining of the sample of his serum. He explains the reason for MacCoulter's presence in the house being what happened with Ryne and how he needs their help to bring Ryne in without a fight. He believes that this is the reason for Jason and MacCoulter to be having a conversation.

[dakota]

" Go ahead." Ashley replied as Solomon left. He found Nathaniel where he had left him. Were it not for the man's slowed breathing, the senior wizard looked like a cadaver on a coroner's slab.



Isamu and Alice's conversation was rudely interrupted by Jason's outburst." I'm not @#$^ing listening to any more of this bull*!@%, Mac!" Behind him a door slammed, but quickly opened again.

" Jason, I only had the information I was given to go by. Be reasonable and come back, would you?" With no reply, the team leaders could hear MacColter sigh and then the door closed again.
