By the time Alice and Jason had gotten to his father's camp, it was well after dark. They hadn't been able to talk much between his carrying Alice as Jason ran at incredible speeds and then the unbearably loud fan of the swampboat they had taken the rest of the way, and once they reached the lodge, he was starting to look worn out.
He had seemed to settle as they slept, but Jason's restlessness kept waking Alice up until he finally seemed to settle. That was until sometime in the morning when Jason was screaming at someone in his sleep. " NO!" "GO AWAY!" "LEAVE US ALONE!"
Despite his shouting and tossing, Jason still seemed to be asleep.

Alice wakes up with a start as Jason starts screaming in his sleep and looks around frantically for a minute, worried they'd been found already. Realizing Jason was having some kind of a nightmare, she tries to calm him down by reaching out and tentatively touching his shoulder, saying "It's ok, Jas. It's just us." She'll say this repeatedly until he starts to calm down.

Jason sat up with a cold sweat forming on his brow. He looked around, breathing heavily. Wha... where?" He looked at Alice and let out a helpless sigh," Sorry if I woke you." A glance outside at how bright the morning was told it was around 9 o'clock, thought the clock on the wall had stopped. He laid back down, putting his arm around Alice, " Did I wake you?"

Alice hugs Jason and says quietly "It's ok." Letting him calm down, she asks quietly "What were you dreaming about?"

" Him." was all Jason said as he held Alice tightly. " He had me cornered and I couldn't use my speed to escape." He sighed, before starting to sit up. " Can't stay in bed all day."

Alice hugs Jason tightly for comfort before sitting up and stretching. "Yeah, I guess not." She grins at him and goes over to her backpack to look for something to wear. A puzzled look comes over her face and she chuckles as she asks Jason "Umm, not that I'm complaining, but did you pack the skimpiest things you could find in my wardrobe?"

" Huh? I just grabbed what was in the basket you hadn't put away yet since it was nearly full." Jason answered, somewhat suspicious," Why?"

"Well," Alice continues with a grin as she starts unpacking things, showing all the tank tops, and tiny pairs of shorts and other assorted things of that nature, showing them to Jason "I was just wondering exactly what kind of visit to the cabin you had in mind." Alice is still grinning as she looks over at Jason, winking at him playfully.

Jason got a sort of 'deer in the headlights' look," Sorry, I didn't mean to." He apologized. This wasn't the Jason that had fallen for Alice, this was more like a scared kid. " I just took what was in the basket and shoved it in. It never occured to me that that was what was in it."

Alice looks concerned as she moves over to Jason, taking his hand gently. "Hey, it's ok" she says quietly in an attempt to reassure him "I was just teasing you."

" Oh, okay." He replied in relief. " I better go turn on the power so stuff works, the batteries should be charged up enough I don't need to run the generator until tonight. You want the shower first?" He asked, pulling on a t-shirt.

Alice nods at Jason, with a worried expression on her face. "Sure, thanks." She says quietly, looking for a towel before heading to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

" Alice, wait." Jason called after her, stepping out into the hall behind her. " I'm sorry. I know I'm not myself, but you don't understand how bad this guy gets to me. I wish I could..., " his brow raised , " how well can you focus your telepathy? I know I asked you never to go into my head, but if you could focus on one memory..." He trailed off, hoping she understood what he was suggesting.

Alice stops and looks at Jason, listening quietly. Thinking for a second, she nods and says "I think I can do that. I did that with Sierra earlier when I saw her memory of what had happened when she felt the magic user."

Jason laughed, seeming almost himself for just an instant," Yeah, but Sierra's not exactly pressed for space in that department. You've already seen what's locked up in here." He tapped his temple. " I don't want you to mess up you head by going into mine."
