Ch.39 Hiding from the Boogeyman (Alice)

Nulifier just stood there looking at Alice, before a deleyed response that seemed slowed and deliberate," Powers protect."

Jason sounded nervous, " Something's not right here Alice."

Ashley looked at Isamu and shrugged, " How do we get a walking bomb to willingly come outside?"

[Dome]

"I do not know. We must draw him out while making sure he doesn't activate the bomb. I do not know how though."

Solomon quickly moves back to the others "I think I got him with an entrancement, but can't be positive. I'm going in to make sure" as he makes for the door still maintaining his invisibility for however much longer it lasts (3 minutes total). before opening the door and slipping inside, he casts a protection spell on himself just as a precaution (armor of ithan, 10 ppe, 36 ppe remaining)

[Mierin]

Alice looks over at Jason with a small frown. "What do you mean?" she asks him quietly.

[dakota]

" Well look at him. He's just standing there like he's in a daze." Jason replied, waving his hand up and down, his speed making the movement a blur. " He's not blocking our powers anymore either. It's like his brain just switched off."

Beyond Null, the door seemed to open and close on it's own.


[outside]

" Sounds like Mr. Wizard already has things under control.." Kristian smirked. " We just need to contain this guy and disarm the bomb."

" You two can figure that out, I'm going in." Ashley said, her symbiotes movements seeming agitated as she turned towards the house.

Solomon spoke to Alice and Jason while waiting for his invisibility to wear off "it's Solomon. Ashley and Dmitri were just returning the favor. they're outside. I believe I have this 'Null' friend of yours temporarily sedated. I need your help."

seeing Tyler laying on the floor "take care of your friend there while I take care of this bomb. we only have a few minutes to disarm him, but I should be able to take care of that. I got your message about the bomb, Alice. shouldn't be a problem."

Solomon checked the bomb on Null, telling him "now, you, my friend aren't going to do anything but stand there quietly for the next few minutes" as he looked out the window to the bog of the swamp for a suitable location in the distance to send the device.

as he prepares to proceed, he tells Alice and Jason "on second thought, just in case this doesn't work, maybe you should get your friend out of here and clear" giving them a chance to get Tyler and get to safety outside.

"and don't worry about me. I have armor to protect me, just in case, but I'm afraid I don't have the time or energy left to protect us all, so if you please? and hurry? it may still go off, but should be a safe distance by then"

Solomon then begins to cast a minor teleportation spell, careful not to touch anything sensitive looking but the inert body of the bomb as he cast and focused out the window to the desired location in the distance a safe way away from everyone.

(teleport lesser, 15 ppe, 2 melees / 30 seconds to cast, 21 ppe remaining)

[Mierin]

Alice simply nods quietly and quickly moves over to Tyler, not wasting any time as she asks him "Are you ok? Do you need help getting up?" Looking over at Jason, she says "Help me please, and let's get out of here quickly before we run out of time."

[dakota]

" I'm okay, " Tyler opened his eyes as he got to his feet with Alice's help, " Healing kicked as soon as he dropped his field."

" Should have known you were playing possum, Ty." Jason said, leading them outside. Ashley and the others were nearby, and Kristian was the first to greet them, " Looks like Solomon didn't need any of our help. Everyone okay?"

Solomon watched as the bomb disappeared from Null's chest. The man was still under the spell's power.

Outside, a gush of water shot into the air as the bomb detonated in the swamp.

Solomon quickly finished disarming Null, taking his weapon, and checking him for any others, unloading them and dropping them to the floor. then before Null can recover and resist, Solomon levitates him into the air horizontally, turning him parallel to the ground, wraps him in a containment spell of restraint, including his mouth so he can't speak, but not his nose, still allowing him to breathe and drags him out of the house by his feet, suspended in mid-air addressing the group "before anyone says anything, again, we were lucky in dealing with this. the fates smiled on us again today, but one of these days my parlor tricks might not work so well. so now what?"

"Now we take him into custody." Alice says firmly, looking over at tyler, resisting the urge to ask him if he thought that was the right thing to do. She was supposed to be leading the team and felt she should probably at least pretend to have an idea of what she was doing.

Solomon nods "got him right here, gift wrapped even"

[Dome]

As Isamu makes his way into the cabin, he watches the others as the situation has been handled. He is glad they made it in time to help Alice, Jason and Tyler, unlike their timing to help Tom face Ragnarok. He walks towards the group and says, "I am glad that we were able to get here in time. Thank you professor. Once again your help has been invaluable."

[dakota]

" What we should do is finish the menace off. Here and now." Tyler interjected, glaring at the prisoner. " One good lightning blast to the chest will end all our problems."

Jason looked at Alice and Isamu, but his expression seemed to agree.

[Dome]

Isamu looks at Jason and Tyler. He then glances at Alice. He doesn't want to interfere since Alice is in charge now that she is present, however, he cannot let them kill him.

"He can be charged with many crimes. I am sure he will be held at Gramercy Island. Killing him will make you no better than he is."

[Mierin]

Alice nods quietly after Isamu is finished speaking. "I agree." she says softly "We are not murdering him. He will go to Gramercy Island and be held accountable for his crimes."
