No one said anything about on hold. all I said was Mierin was stumped on a reply, which I only found while we were talking when the subject came up. no, what you said was Mierin and I have already spoken regarding her not posting and I have accepted it. That is all anyone in the game should need to know, and she will post when she is ready big difference newsflash! nobody in the game knew anything because nobody who knew anything bothered to tell us so exactly *how* were we supposed to access this info? (I have ideas, but none are politically correct) look and this is getting really retarded can we call a truce to this? I spoke with both doc and nex at length and think I know where this is going, but let me feel this out and see if I understand the situation correctly. people are upset that I didn't give more info on the actions, attitudes or intentions of my PCs? is that a fair assessment? so what we have here is a lack of communication (sry, couldn't resist) what the other players need from me is some advance notice when I, er ... my PCs, are feeling particularly feisty or frisky? no more surprises like First Impressions? what I'm asking for in return is a little more open communication about the status and what's going on in the games. again, no more surprises like First Impressions. I'll let everybody know when there's trouble brewing, and everyone agrees to let me know if the conflict level goes overboard. think we can help each other out here?

so what's the consensus? admins willing to work something out when a player voices their concerns, or take the standard path of least resistance and shoot the messenger?

yes, well, suppose I had that coming, at least. as my first courtesy head's up, just wanted to let everyone know that I based Duke's personality on Toombs from Chronicles of Riddick
the "rates" Duke's trying to negotiate are his sales pitch to the "green" officers he runs across. on a successful skill check of Intelligenge, Military Etiquette or similar, Sam would probably realize Duke is trying to "double-dip" with his formula
hazard pay is reserved for aviators or EOD and Duke doesn't have either of those certs or quals listed in his service contract. all he's really certified for or qualified to receive is the combat pay ranging from 10%-20%
if Sam calls him out on it and says 10%, Duke will drop to 20%, if she says 15%, he'll agree. that's *if* Sam or a member of her squad catches the fast one he's trying to pull in the first place

got that, it's all good
ps, as an after-thought, Tyneer would probably be wise to the game, but as both a retired merc and ex-CS, dak can decide where his true loyalties are and if he'll say anything or not
if Sam figures it out on her own, he'll have more respect for her, but if Tyneer tips her, he'll just lose respect for Tyneer as a merc

There may not be a post coming from me in the next couple of days due to work and school and finals and the need to sleep at some point.
ETA: Sorry, I'm working on a post, just don't really have a lot of spare time these days to get it up. Hope to get it done soon.

Is it just me or did Duke suddenly flip a 180 and become too paranoid?

FWIW, I thought he was too. It just doesn't help when over half the game's players vanishes on you. I think for sticking around we should get an XP bonus.

Soc is great, and Sam tolerates Sheps abuse, so both of them can take 500xp before things get parked for now
