'off you go then Kirin ... ' *she watches the strange beast that is a mixture of 2 mythical beasts vanish. she stands staring at the jungle before turning to trail along in the rear of the group. her hands turn up the color and lets the hair hang over it.
*a few thoughts cross her mind. once the creatures are 'invisible' .. do they reflect water like an umbrella to give their position away? do they show up in clouds of smoke? do they even have a heartbeat that can be picked up? or an aura? a camera with a few adjustments to it will fix that question. its clear she's out of her league here, so her decision about the ring will most likely be the best one.
'i think i'll just get some sleep now. later .. '
*she breaks off and heads to her tent. head tucked forward and hands in the pocket. she has a bunch of tests to set up and things to cobble together to make it happen.

"'Night Jeckle," Tiger says.
Tiger turns her head to face Kris as she walks. "We find more creatures and defeat them. We've got to get at least one of ours a bit more advanced."
She hesitates, thinking of a positive way to phrase her thoughts. "We also need to be careful I think. Not only do we not want to find out what happens if our creature is defeated, we need to recognize that we are causing considerable collateral damage to our target's controllers."
"We need to select our targets carefully."

Khris nodded. " We've also got to be drawing suspicion from the garrison. They aren't going to keep buying whatever stories we can come up with forever. Then we're gonna have our hands full."

Tiger smiles, "For now lets get out of the rain. Everyone is free to rest until this blows over, depending on when the storm stops, we can gather more information or train."

Jeckle spends the nest hour putting together a few more items from her supplies to run a few more tests. she sort of knows that she wont pick up any other kind of results, but her mind does kick over a few other patterns of something and knows that she and her ringmate have work set out for them.
for Jeckle to get a 3D computer image, she will have to attach sensors all over Kirin. to understand how his muscles will work and then run simulators for combat. maybe that will give him a bit of an edge. while the thought is wonderful, she wonders if that would be cheating and if that means she would have to do that to the others. until then, she will DL mini vids on animals to study and get ideas. but first? .. sleep beckons, so she secures the gadgets she's made and flops on her bed and gets ready to pass out

" I can think of lots of things," Khris replied with a smirk, stopping and watching Tiger walk away," but it would tarnish my reputation as a gentleman to say them aloud." Despite the rain soaking him to the bone, he was beyond content as his eyes were fixated.

Tiger made her way back to her tent. Only a few moments after she went inside, Kris sensed a presence: one of the creatures. Then another, obviously Tiger's own Pantera.

Once Tiger was out of sight, Khris sighed slightly and headed towards his own tent. He wasn't sure who's creature was with Pantera, but he decided Tiger must've had a plan since she wanted to be alone. He started to change out of his wet clothes, sputtering," You'd have to be a bloody duck to enjoy weather like this."

A muted crack can be heard throughout the camp. A revolver shot, and even hearing the muffled sound through the rain Kris recognizes the report of a hot loaded .45 - one of Tiger's guns.
One presence fades and disappears, not Pantera. Only a moment later Tiger's voice sounds on all the team's communicators and Steelfist's internal channel. The volume is normal, but she sounds distant, as if she is talking from across the room, "Complete the mission." It is all she says.
Then, Kris's communicator only crackles to life, "If... uh..." He can hear the strain in her voice, "Only if this mission succeeds is there a future for me. Its the only way- I..."
She doesn't finish her sentence. Tiger and Pantera fade and disappear.

" Tiger?" Khris sprung to his feet as he felt her vanish. He started shouting into his comm as he pulled on his sandals and ran to her tent" TIGER? TIGER, COME IN. ANSWER ME DAMMIT." He released the transmit key as he reached her tent and opened the flap, adding under his breath, " For the love of god, let me be wrong."
