Rhys looks to Mariana. "From the sounds of it, Sergeant Smith, you yourself may be more of a flake then some of us here. I don't care what history you have with Shep. But you need to keep your snide ass comments like that to yourself." His voice not showing any emotions at all sounding like ice.

OOC: ignore that other OOC, as I wrote it wrong: Mariana was s'posed to have mumbled up till she asked Shep the question, but I can work with it. ;D

" Come down, kiddos. We're still on the same team here." His gaze shifted between Rhys and Mariana with a soft tone. " It won't do us much good to come apart on the second day so let's try to stay focused. You can settle this other crap on the playground when you all get back home."
" Good pep talk, Sergeant, you should have been a gym coach." Gantry chimed in, failing in his attempt to kill the mounting tension. " I think our best bet is to concentrate on the pair of missing soldiers being held together at some sort of facility. We could be running around for weeks and never find a trace of the other one. Ellie, any chance you can get a reading on them?"
Mikey was about to say something, but held his tongue at a shake of Shep's head. "Shep looked sideways at Dyson, and nudged him. " Hey, you awake? Anyways, " he turned back to the others," that sounds like our best course of action. Whatever the case, we should soon head out before we overstay our welcome. "
"Oh, and Mar, that rabbit wasn't anti-Coalition." He turned to her with a hint of a smirk. " You drove it to commit suicide. I kinda know how it felt." His smirk grew to a full blown smile as he winked at her before turning his attention back to the others.

*Mariana listens to everything, but her head wheels towards Shep as he mentions the suicidal rabbit, her face about to say something, but then she obviously bites it back, he mouth closing.* "Well, Sgt, if it's because it found someone it so desparately wanted, but just couldn't have, I could understand your sympathies with it." *But, her face still shows being hurt, and Mariana waits quietly for a decision to be made.*

When Mariana makes her comment towards Rhys, "I do care about this 'list' but I also will not tolerate snide comments coming from someone that just joined our squad and hasn't shown herself to be competent yet."
When Gantry comments about finding the other missing soldiers he falls quiet for a moment and says after the others have been spoken. "We also need to gather more intel about the groups operating in this area"

*Mariana rolls her eyes at Rhys* "We already know enough of who they are: One's a CS defector and traitor, the other a CS enemy. They are both well armed, and none too fond of each other. This was clear last night, as they were as interested in each other as... CS troops (a sort of correction tone in her voice). They-"
*Mariana stops suddenly and takes in the look of the town*
"But, why are they here, so close to Westvale, but neither have taken the town, no-one's fleeing and the town's in good shape..." *She turns back to the others*
"If Sung has our men, and they're alive, he has them for a reason. Clearly, in this case, why they're here is at least as important as who they are."
"Anyone care to contribute to the 'why'?" *She looks directly to Shep and Mikey*

As Ellie listens to the conversation going on around her she pulls out the mini-pc and brings up the missing soldiers pictures. She looks at them all and begins to concentrate on them one by one. She focuses on them and their surroundings. She looks at the wounds or bandages over their wounds to find out how badly they're hurt. She also try to see if anyone is around them.

Dyson raises his head and looks at Shep after being nudged, breaking him out of a Revere of brooding thoughts.
Dyson has been looking decidedly uncomfortable throughout the verbal repartee exchanged by Shep and Sergeant Smith.
Responding to Shep Dyson says "Ya, I'm fine." and picking up with the present conversation says "I'd like to know what's going on with this place to.
The Mercs that Shep and Snow ball... Followed were walking away from this village on the trail we took to get hear. Unless the mercs came onto that trail from the side and just used it to travel faster, then they could easily have come from here. Which doesn't make sense considering what I think those demons and mercs would have done if they found a plump village like this." Dyson places his full and undivided attention on Shep and awaits a reply.

Ellie tackles Dyson to the ground before he can finish what hes saying and yells "Everyone down!" In an instant she puts a telekinetic field covering the party and kicks up the table and gets behind it. "We got snipers on us" she yells as the adrenaline begins to pump through her body.

" I didn't see anything." Replied Mikey as he scampered to cover behind the outdoor cook stove, a hint of surprise on his face when he found Gantry already there. He gave Shep an odd look.
Shep returned the look with a slight shrug as he grabbed Col. Mendez and dragged him behind the overturned table. He turned his attention to Ellie and the others. " Everyone okay?" With a quick cursory look over them, he focused on Ellie." Are you sure? I never saw or heard any incoming fire?"
" Nobody is dumb enough to try something here and get Koor mad." He added lowly as he peeked up over the edge of the table, scanning the forest.
