" Good for you." He snapped back. " And if he gets half a chance, Warlord Sung will make none of us never will. Thanks to that meeting I had with a contact last night, I got the drop that his troops are the ones that have the missing troops from 2nd squad."

"YOu happy now? Now that you've told your little secret?" *She says, still snarly*

" Not really" He shrugged." Iit didn't do anything for me. Was it good for you?"

*deadpan* "Oh. baby."

Gantry slammed his hand on the table as he stood up. " Would you two grow up! You're acting like a pair of school yard brats."

" Yessir." Shepherd replied,pausing long enough to stick his tongue out at Mariana childishly with a smirk before turning to face Gantry, and then Col. Mendez.

" Now, pending no one else has any energy they have to work out of their system beforehand. Can we get on with this?" He turned to Co. Mendez, and waited.

*Realising she's lost this round, Mariana waits on the rim of the group for the Colonel to speak.*

Ellie looks over to Rhys and mouths "WOW." She sits there for a moment looking to shep then to Mariana. after she sees thats they've stopped for now she looks to Mendez for the next orders. noting to herself to talk to Mariana in private when they have the time.

Rhys nods in agreement as he smirks trying his damnedest to keep from bursting out in laughter at the two's antics. Turning his head as he almost glares at Gantry, for interrupting Shep and Mariana's entertaining show, he looks to Mendez.

Mendez has his head cocked to the side during this big display. when they are done he says;" if i hadn’t read your files I’d think you too were once married." he takes a moment, then says;" ok we still have a job to do. we are heading out and completing this mission. this mission." he look directly at shep. " what kind of Intel do we have on warlord sung and the hostage situation? how far is our target, is there any obstacles for here to there, and do we need to call for support?"

Shepherd glared at the colonel for a moment as his comments sunk in, his eyes shifting to Mariana for a split second before he muttered lowly. " Not in this lifetime, I've got some standards."

He scowled a bit as the colonel turned the floor over to him, but he'd been expecting it. " I'm sure every one here is familiar with Major Li Sung, and what he accomplished during the war in Tolkeen with his black ops teams. What you may not know is the man is a nut job and went rogue and set up shop with his own kingdom in Wyoming called the Black Hills Empire. We know that he has what's left of his platoon and has taken a bunch of Tolkeen refugees. Last estimates put his strengths in the 5000 range. Other than that, our intel is very limited, including why he's been expanding his operations this far east."

He cleared his throat. " I think we're also making assumptions here. Unless I missed it, no one ever said Sung's people have our objective, and if he does, they're not hostages. More like prisoners of war. Last report I saw had a camp near the Wyoming/Nebraska border, about 30 miles northeast of us, about 60 strong but that intel was two weeks old and they had been moving around alot. As for support, you're kidding , right? Sorry sir, we're on our own out here."

"Let's see, obstacles that we might have to deal with our friends from the General Sprites Apocalyptic Army, who claims Nebraska as his home turf. We also have a three way dance going on around us between the Simvan, Psi-Stalkers and Natives from the Casper Preserve." He turned and looked at Mariana. "I didn't leave anyone out, did I?" He didn't wait for an answer as he turned back." And thats not mentioning the countless creatures, monsters and hell knows what else prowls these parts."

He shrugged, his thumbs tucked in his utility belt, with a smirk, rocking on the balls of his feet. " All and all, just another fun filled walk in the woods." Under his breath, he added something no one could make out as he looked at the ground, except Mikey, who burst into a snicker he quickly reeled in at a snapped gaze from Shep.

*Mariana also spent most of Shep's speech with a scowl, first at Mendez, then at Shep. For the most part, though she's snickering to herself, cause Mendez doesn't have her whole file, as her last year was classified (the stint killing Macklin & Co.), and it probably still had her untimely demise listed there somewhere... the funeral was nice, she was told*

*in a dead pan voice, just as Mikey's snicker subsides*"Sgt. Trassk (with just enough force to sound like a sneer, to get his attention, and a pause before continuing), you forgot the rabbits. Their Anti-CS intentions have been made more than clear"

Rhys busts out laughing at Mariana's comment about the rabbits. "Never knew rabbits could have anti CS intentions. That's something new."

Ellie tries to hide her snickers. Other then that she sits and listens to what the others are saying.

"Too bad 'flakes' weren't on my list." *she mumbles so quietly only Mikey could hear.* "Or maybe it's a good thing... half the this team would be in trouble." *She looks at Mikey for a second, then to Shep, and in a clear fully professional voice* "Do you have any recommendations Sgt. Trassk? or would you prefer this group wing it?"
