Jessica shakes her head. "I didn't say that at all. But being snippy around your new boss is never a good idea and I'm a little surprised that I need to tell you that, honestly. Especially if you're worried about making a good impression." Jessica's face is uncharacteristically sombre as she says this in a calm, friendly voice.

Jessica smirks "Do you want a list? For starters, there was mocking the captain when we first set out to go on our shopping trip. Though I guess you are right.. you weren't being snippy, you were simply mocking him." Jessica's smirk grows into a grin. "Should I continue?"

McKenna scowled," So I've dug myself a hole already,huh?" she shrugged," It's just the way I am, most of the time I don't even realize I'm doing it. It's a wonder I even got past the interview." Then a thought occured," Or did he have a choice? Nah, there had to be other people that applied who were as qualified as me."

Jessica nods quietly and says "It can happen. Just try to do your best." Jess looks thoughtful and shakes her head "No, we had a few candidates. You seemed to have the best skills, so that's why you were picked."

Jessica nods and grins. "Sure." She then shows MJ around the ship, taking care to point out the places guests and some of the crew aren't allowed to go without the captain or herself present and points out where she is staying in case there is an emergency of some kind and she is needed for security, doing her best to answer any questions MJ might have.

" So, if someone gets in trouble in one of those areas, you're telling me I need to get ahold of one of you to babysit?" McKenna arched a brow. " I'm not going to promise I'll remember that. I'm used to doing the job first, then worry about other stuff. This crate is alot bigger than I expected though."

Jessica shrugs. "It's one of my jobs as security." she replies with an easy smile. "If you have to knock out the troublemaker and then come and get me so I can log the incident and throw them into a holding cell." Jessica nods "She can fool you when you see her from the outside. She's got it where it counts though."

Raquetball is a little loud, and the last thing I need is an innocent bystander if I'm working on my fencing techniques." McKenna changed the subject, not wanting to voice her first impression of the ship's appearance.

"Alright. Well, when you get off this shift, better set to the design." Deviss says. "I'll let the captain know you're on it."

Jessica shrugs "To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe the cargo bay? It's plenty big and you,d have warning if someone was coming. I'd have to look into that."

" Great." McKenna grinned. As they passed the galley, she curled up her nose for just a moment. " Guess this takes some getting used to. We're not expected to all sit down to eat together, are we?" She grinned, " I sound like a little kid, asking all these questions. Sorry if I'm boring you."

Jessica shakes her head with a grin and replies "You're not." She nods as they pass the galley "The captain does encourage people to eat together, but it's not required. It's just a good way for people to get to know each other better. It does take some getting used to it if you are not used to being on a long term trip like this, but it does get better." Jessica grins as she asks "Actually, I can show you around the galley while we are here if you want?"
