2. Laika Station

[dakota]

McKenna was suprised when Jessica had showed up to help, but didn't refuse. As it turned out, MJ was very methodical, having things stored by alphabetical order and expiry dates if they had them. When they were making some head way, she finally asked, " so why did the Captain send you down here anyways?"

[Mierin]

Jessica glances over at McKenna as they are unpacking the supplies and shakes her head. "He didn't." she replies with a grin. "I wasn't busy and figured you could use a hand unpacking the supplies."

[dakota]

McKenzie stopped the box she was emptying. " You get free time? I figured he's have you running the ship while he did... captainy things" she shrugged with a smirk and then a chuckle," Okay, so that was dumb, but you know what I mean."

[Dome]

Flip continually watches the course the ship is on as well as the radar systems, desperately wanting to impress the captain so that his job won't be in danger. He makes any minor course adjustments and is wary about any ships closing on him.

Pilot: Spacecraft: Heavy = 60% roll - 59
Sensory Equipment = 45% roll = 42

(Bridge)

The scopes don't show anythignmore than normal shipping traffic.

Tawfeek arrives on the bridge after things are stable. "Shift change." He says. "It's been about 6 hours since we left Freedom." And he takes the co-pilot station opposite.

(Medical thingie place)
Mckenna and Stephens continue working.

(Engines)
Deviss waits for Mensk to give an assessment of things so far.

[Mierin]

Jessica shakes her head at McKenna and shrugs with a smile. "I am often busy but I figured I'd help you out since I had the chance."

[dakota]

" I appreciate it." She stopped and turned to face Jessica," He hates me already, doesn't he? I know I made a bad impression and he'll dump me soon as he gets a replacement lined up. Won't he?"

[Mierin]

Jessica shakes her head at McKenna and replies with a small smile. "He doesn't hate you. If he did, you would have never been allowed on the ship to begin with. He.." Jessica shrugs "is really not a people person, which is why he keeps me around, despite the countless times he's threatened to fire me." Jessica grins as she continues to unpack the medical supplies.

[dakota]

McKenna shrugged, Great. So I can't ready him, and that was one of my strengths when dealing with people." She sighed," This is going to be so much fun. Uh, you should know, are their any places in the cargo bay or maybe an empty corridor I might be able to use from time to time? I like to play raquet ball to stay in shape."

[Mierin]

Jessica shrugs. "Just don't take it personally. It makes it a lot easier to deal with when you realize he is like that with everyone."" As for McKenna's question about racquetball, she nods "I'm sure we can find a place for you to play. Once we get this done, we can look around the ship for something suitable if you'd like."

[dakota]

"Okay, we're almost done here." McKenna replied. " Oh, and we need to stop by hydroponics. There's something I better show you that may be a problem down the road." She continued stocking the shelves.

[Dome]

Flip leans back when the captain sits down. He stands and stretches a little before he says, "Everything looks good boss, only normal shipping traffic, I'll go grab nap."

[kurff]

(Engines)
With the ship now moving all seemed well. "So," Deviss says, entering Mensk's engine space. "How you keeping kid?"

"Good, Things are running smooth..I did want to ask for a little help on a something." he called up the design for the energy 'scoop.'

"This might help us reintigrate lost energy and reduce our engine siginture. its a basic Funnel that redirects energy back to the ship instead of in space." he let the CE look it over, "this isn't the final design though...I need to see what we have to work with." he was looking on for a response from the Engineering expert.

"Oh and I would like time to plan a tune-up to cut down an traceable energy signitures sometime today if I can." Mengsk added.

(Sorry for the delay, busy work)

(On the bridge)
Tawfeek nods. "Alright. "I'll come find you in a few hours, if nothing comes up."

So, Foreman finds he has at least until how long it'll take to get to the Moon, for free time. The ship is actually quite empty, with everyone else working.

(At the engine)
Deviss looks it over. "Ah, the sail trick." After another glance, he hands it back. "If this were a pleasure cruise, I'ld say pitch it, but not on a courrier. Don't forget that, for a ship to move in space, it has to spit something in the opposite direction. Newtonian physics. But you put something to catch the stuff you push, you're reducing the efficiency. Tawfeek includes the wastage in the cost of doing business. If needbe, when we have a changce, we'll put you in a suit in Zero-G with the misters, and a cup and I'll show you."

After a pause, he picks up the design again turning it upside down. "But, if you could come up with some kind of simple solar sail for emergencies, that would be good. You know, basic components, but tough and compact. This could work for that, too, I mean."

[kurff]

"It's sound idea and we can use the solar energy panels to power the Hydropinics bay on a smaller scale." he added.

"Hydroponics will use solar lamps. we can have them charge emergency batteries as well as provide us plants." he nodded.

"I'll start on that.." he looked over the items they had and the plans of the Hydropnics bay. "We can have a rechargable battery to start the Hydroponics lamps and charge the emergency batteries."

"Once the lamps in Hydroponics are running on the there own power. we can have a rechargable Emergency power supply constantly available and recharging." he finished.
