Bianca looks up the last few people to check out the missing book, and also the last few reference desk checks for it. This kind of book probably doesn't get checked out much.
Then she calls up the records for the other books those patrons have checked out - looking for two kinds of information. First, she looks for the obvious, to see if any other books they acquired seem suspicious: guides of the city, military or police information, anything that seems out of place. Second, she looks at the lengths of the records and the frequency that they have been checking out books historically and recently. She also looks at the damage records to see if any markings were recorded.
She takes notes and tries to determine several things. If the last person who checked out the book was the one most likely to have taken it, it could have been stolen of course. If the identity of any of the patrons was likely stolen, for example a long and boring record of books checked out ending in this one. And also if there is any chance that the people interested in the book were sympathizers. Of course, if the last person to check out the book has a very short record, he or she could have simply taken it themselves, but she wants to cover all the bases after she herself pointed out how easy it would be for someone else to have the book. She doesn't want some kid or old lady to be arrested by accident.

"To destroy a pyramid is like destroying anything. Get enough explosives and run away quickly, I suppose." The dragon answers. "But, to create an apocalypse like that...you would, I suppose, destroy the pyramid in such a way and at such a time as to kill as many as possible and create the cascade. No-one knows for sure." He adds, his head resting again, but facing the pair. "No-one's ever tried before. Or at least none that succeeded."

The record on the book showed it to have been in the library for about 50 years, and was donated before that. The check-outs on the book were very sporadic. Following the accounts put them at Tobrias, and city planners. At the same time, they would take out books pertaining to emergency plans.
The last time the book was taken out was about a year ago, by someone in the University, named William Montrose, about a month before the Guild closed its doors to the general public. It was not returned. His contact information showed him to be a part-time professor at Xomo University, focusing on magical history.

Sarah looks pale and worried as she asked "Who tried before? Maybe, by knowing what others have tried we'll see the signs of the current troublemaker and be able to get a step ahead of them."

Sarah nods at Coop. "Except... which lab? If he's doing what we think he is, he probably could have a lab anywhere in town."

The dragon's head shifted as he started to lose interest again. "Would a hospital or a house provide the library he needs?" He asked, curling up a little. "Or the means to map how a cascade would play out?"
