[ Fast forward to the next morning. Sierra, Isamu and alice can decide how the evening went after we last saw them]
Avi had answered Tom's call, but quickly told him they'd discuss it in the morning when Tom had started to explain his situation. As he had told Tom, Avi picked him up in time to have him at the beach house for 9AM.
As Tom and Avi came in, and the others started to gather towards the war room, the smell of fresh muffins wafted down the stairwells. There was also plenty of coffee and tea waiting as Jason helped himself. " I slipped out early. Thought Sierra could use a break with all the cooking."
[ Tag- anyone. Nothing elaborate on the evening's events, just a reference of mention to fill in the gap I intentionally created.]

* Sierra wakes up and realizes that this isn't her bedroom and eases out from under Kristen's arm. she recalls slipping into his room when she couldn't sleep earlier. with his arm about her .. her emotions finally settled and were kept at bay and the nightmares didn't return again.
*she slips out of his room and vanishes upstairs and emerges after about 5 minutes. she moves downstairs and pauses to look about the warroom, as she followed her nose to the hot muffins* 'oh ... there's coffee .. awesome .. '

After falling asleep in Jason's arms, Alice wakes up and is a little confused when he's gone. Smelling the muffins, she quickly showers and gets dressed and heads downstairs. She smiles at everyone there and says "Morning." before pouring herself a cup of tea and sits down next to Jason and smiles at him in greeting.

Jason grinned back. " Good morning to you too. We should do that more often, without the chases by Wraith's goons and me threatening to leave town of course."
Kristian came in not long after Sierra. he got himself a coffee, " You know I had the strangest dream about snuggling with a big teddy bear last night." he winked and grinned.
Avi brought Tom up the elevator, and immediately deserted him in favor of a cup of coffee. dmitri looked over, suprised a bit," Back so soon? This can be for the free breakfast." janie elbowed him, shaking her head.

* Sierra freezes .. and then starts to go pink about the neck as she chokes on the mouthful of coffee 'oh .. really? ... oh my .. muffins look good too' *then she's reaching for one and starts to nibble at it

Tom's expression is pretty dour as he wheels into the kitchen. "I wish. No, unfortunately, we've got a double whammy of trouble. The cops came by my place last night after Avi dropped me off. Apparently there's a body in the morgue that the cops think is Ragnarok's old-man-alter-ego. They're claiming he died when Raggedy-Annie smashed up the first ambulance. The second thing is that they are blaming you for attacking the 'innocent-old-man' at the park and his subsequent 'death'. So, I think we got a big problem on our hands.

After a brief conversation with Tom about the situation. Isamu agrees with Avi's decision about discussing it in the morning. He joined Ashley down on the beach for some nice quiet time together and enjoy the sound of the surf crashing against the shore. They retired for the evening with Isamu still not yet comfortable with sharing a bed, saying goodnight and leaving Ashley to a good nights sleep.
In the morning he wakes up feeling refresh and after waiting for Ashley they head down together. Saying, "good morning everyone," as he reaches to pour Ashley and himself some tea.
He says nothing as Tom comes in and explains the situation and waits to see if the others have any input on the subject. He loses himself in thought for a moment as Tom and the others discuss things, 'my life has changed greatly. I am just a student. I cannot believe the things that I have been involved in. Now it seems the police are after us. I also wonder why they referred to me as second in command. I am no leader. I only do what I must to protect my new found friends. I do also hope Alice does not think I am trying to take her place. I have no desire to lead. I will simply follow and help where I can.'

Alice grins at Jason and leans over and gives him a quick kiss. "I definitely agree." she replies before sipping her tea with the same smile on her face.
Hearing Tom explain the situation, however, causes the smile to fade. She puts her tea cup down and nods at Tom, "It appears we do have a problem." Sighing she asks "What happened yesterday? What were the Brethren up to?"

*the various fleeting bits of guilt at Kristen remembering her on his bed to chase her memories away .. to the happimess of hte night before being the best time she's had this whole time so far .. are dashed as Tom speaks.
*her face goes still and then she sets the muffin down, then her coffee. she's suddenly no longer hungry. wonder if its the same old guy from before .. or if that big guy took out some helpless old man? ... wouldn't put it past him or whoever took him ... bet Jason's boss dude would have more info on him .. '

' *her pale worried face finally gives a half grin of humor then she stares at the floor again .. deep in thought .. figuring that Izamu should be the one to answer Alice, as he's second in command

" I think I have an explanation to that." Avi said as he laid a story in the newspaper on the table. " It seems theye were doing the ground work for a big jewelry heist. the crooks tried to escape down the aquaduct after it was filled, but got themselves trapped and the police took them into custody. About five million in diamonds was recovered. "
" Nice job guys." Jason complemented. " Mabye Tom's intwerview had something to do with our visit from Wraith and his goon squad yesterday. They wanted to capture me." He snickered, " They thought Alice was a hooker I hired when I bolted."
" But why would anyone want to fake Ragnarok's normal form being dead? That's going to extremes, isn't it?" Janie asked.
" If they can discredit Control agents, it makes it easier to have Mac pull us out of town." Avi pointed out. " so where do we go from here?"

*Sierra seems to have a case of Deja vu. the same feeling of 'happy' getting busted by something beyond her control. she sets the coffee down and frowns slightly. a deep sigh is heard then she looks up. 'so .. now what do we do? i .. i thought .. no worries .. '
*she looks at Jason. then looks away and ponders something for a while. 'so .. are the jewel thieves Meta's? or is that wishing for too much. cause i don't think that those people would be paid for playing grate shifters for no reason. well they didn't. just didn't seem to be the right thing, you know, kinda like something else was up something behind the robbery?''

Tom steeples his fingers. "I have an idea, but it's kinda risky." He pauses to take a breath, and wheels himself in closer (using his magnetism to push his chair). "Alice and I, and anyone else who can disguise themselves or isn't known to these guys, can maybe try to get into City Hall pretending to be a student group of some kind; we don't even have to meet with the mayor, just get close enough for Alice to use her telepathy to find out what his agenda is. " Tom looks over to Alice. "How close would that be?"

" Of course you'd think so." Avi piped in, before turning to Sierra," No Sierra, we stopped the robbery getaway. The cops just won't ever know it was us. Nothing in the paper to say they were metas, and I'm sure that would have been in there. The Brethren are known to do whatever to make a buck."

Alice considers Tom's question before replying "In order to use my telepathy to scan his thoughts, I'd have to be 60 feet away from him or closer." Alice nods at Jason with a small smile and replies "It is a bit risky, but if I wear a disguise no one will know it's me, and I think it's worth the risk." Looking at the others, she explains "That's why Wraith and the other guy he was with thought I was a hooker. I changed the way I looked so they didn't recognize me."
