Falbera stands, keeping an eye on the door, not that she is paranoid, she just prefers to keep her face hid.

A beautiful woman walks into the room. With jet black hair, bright green eyes she’s wearing a black dress with red highlight with the front v-cut to show cleavage she is VERY beautiful (PB:24) and looks at you then smiles. “Good evening. Sorry to keep you waiting so I will get to the point. Last night a family heirloom that is very dear to me was stolen from our home by a couple of thieves. The heirloom has been in our family for hundreds of years and I want it back.” She says with sad eyes. She then points towards a painting above the fireplace. This was my grandmother. Around her neck is the object I speak of.” You see a gold plate diamond shaped with small writing around the outside edges of the brooch and a hole in the center where a red diamond the size of a baseball sits. “As you can see it is very beautiful. It is only worth 100,000 gold pieces on the open market but this particular piece is very sentimental and I want it back at all costs.” She snaps her fingers again and a servant comes in carrying a chest and sets it down on a table. “Now I am prepared to offer you a considerable reward for bringing it back. She reaches in the chest and pulls out a large bag. “In this bag are 100,000 gold pieces worth of gems and gold which, if you accept the job, each of you gets it as a down payment. Once the item is safely returned to me I will then reward all of you the rest of your reward of 500,000 gold pieces. Any questions?” She asks

kurff should have been the first to say yes, but his experience with the Wild boys told him such large pay outs were not so simple. he wanted to ask why such a large amount cash and the fact they were not in the noble section. Both seemed connected.
"Any idea who the thieves were or why they came here? Do you have any rivals that might benefit from this theft?" it was a little cloak and dagger, but it would help answer clear up some his concerns.

Derik quietly listened to the story. As she motioned to the amulet and the picture generally, he spent some time looking at it, making sure the woman in the picture looked like she could be related to the woman talking.
When the woman made the offer of the money, Derik deliberately waited, making it look like the money only slightly snapped his attention away from the picture and the item of interest. He had figured a deathless retrieval would be cheap to do anyways. Though, the sum offered, considering those present, was pretty hefty.
He remained silent, waiting for the answers to others' questions.

She turns to Kurff and nods her bright green eyes sparkling, "I know exactly who the thieves are. They are ruffians formerly of my families employ. They were fired a month ago for........certain.......activities. And as a result they spend a good portion of their time trying to extract revenge on my family. When they found out this family heirloom was dear to us they devoted all of their time trying to steal it. They tried twice before and failed, unfortunately they were not caught." She pauses for a second, lowering her head and seems trying not to cry, then after a moment, composes herself. "I guess a third time is a charm." She sniffles and looks back up. "Look, I know what you all are thinking. It's a rather large sum of money just for a little trinket, but this isn't just a trinket, it is dear to my heart. If my family found out I offered this much money to you they would disown me, which is why I am financing this myself, and not them. It's also why I chose to meet you here instead of our estate. Maybe............just maybe........they will look past the money and just be happy I got it back." She starts to shed a tear again. "Please........will you help me??" She says, with more tears streaming down here beautiful cheeks.

Will ( now replacing D'fel ) looked at the others, taken in by the hearttouching request. " I'm in. When do we leave?"

"Where are we going?" Derik counters, calmly to Will. Before he could answer, he turned to the tearful lady. "If you know these people, then we need an idea of where to look. Of course, more specific is better."

The Countess smiles. "Good!! I'm very glad you have decided to help. I do know where they are heading. Due north towards Lopan and Pi over the Old Kingdom Mountains. The theft happened early morning and taking them a while to get out of the city the authorities said they have about 6 hours lead right now." She pauses as she wipes her tears, "Is there any other questions I can answer for you before you go?"

Glancing over at Shayla and Storm, and Falberra (quickly... poor thing) to see what they're thinking, Derik speaks up. "What did you want us to do with the thieves, again?"

The Countess looks up and at you, Derik, and everyone can see her getting angry. "I don't want to see them ever again. If it means you have to......." She clinches her fists several times and tries to calm herself as best she can,".......Well they are thieves and bandits. Do what you normally do to thieves and bandits who steal, but make it ten times worse!!!" She says bluntly.

Derik made the mental tick on the checklist. Killing the thieves was not specifically requested, so he decided that the others can make it happen if they want. Other circumstances like big tall steep clifss notwithstanding.
"Of course." Derik says, looking taken aback by her response. "We'll make them suffer." He adds, with enthusiasm, for good measure.

Storm nods. "We will catch the thieves and bring them to justice." He says with a reassuring smile.

"Well, it's settled. We will return your necklace as quickly as we can, and bring the thieves to justice." Picking up the bag of gold... more easily than his frame would suggest.... (That is, unless it was 100,000 each, in which case he picks up his own bag) Derik leads the group out. "We need horses, and to divide this up." He says to the group when they're gathered outside on their way to prepare.
