"Good evening, Ma'am." Derik says in perfectly clear, soothing Eastern tones... like even colloquially, yo! Hooray for tongues!
On topic... "My party and I read your poster and wish to assist you in recovering your property." He pauses for a second. "May we come in?"

The woman smiles "Of course! Come right in all of you!" The woman gestures to all of you, "My name is Maria, please follow me." As she leads everyone through the hallway, she says "The missus will be quite pleased that someone is here in response to her add. She is some upset about what has happened, I can tell you." Maria leads you all to a nice, but modest sitting room and gestures for you all to have a seat. "Can I get you folks something to drink?" Maria asks everyone. Shayla smiles politely and says "I'm fine thank you."

"No thank you." Derik says, sitting politely.

"I'm good." kurff answered looking around and guaging the valuables by habit.

" Thank you milady, but nothing for me." Taking a seat near Kurff, D'fel gently slapped him with his tail when he realized what he was doing. " Not in the home of a perspective employer, my friend. You'll have plenty of chances to ply your trade later."

Falbera simply stayed towards the back and kept silent shaking her head when asked for a drink. She kept her hood pulled tight over her head. None of these people had responded negatively towards her appearance yet, and still here she was, already involved on a job with them. Still she thought it best not to let them see her face anytime soon.

While waiting, Derik glances around the room, for anything like weapons or secret passages.

Derik doesn't see anything that could resemble a secret passage as he glances around the room. He does spy some sword on the wall, but they appear to be for decorative purposes as opposed to practical uses.
Maria shakes her head "Oh, I'm not allowed to talk about it, but let me fetch the mistress and she will explain all. It'll just be a few more minutes." Maria then leaves the room, leaving everyone to themselves.
What are you doing?

Derik sits there. "Well." He says, in Elvish again, though of a better quality than before. "She certainly seems nice." He idly picks up a piece of pottery from the end-table and looks it over.

"Not as nice as some of the stuff in this room. Makes you wonder why the live here. Probably not 'real' nobles...." he shrugged.

" Sheath that tongue." D'fel warned in a hushed tone. " The last thing we need is for you to offend our potential employers."

"You adults lie too often." he noted, "They'll hire us. A job like this is usually not up long." he took a seat near D'fel wondering if when he got older would be as 'socially' dishonest.
But did sit quielty looking around.

"Now, now." Derik says. "I'm sure it'll be fine." He says, placatingly.

Storm stands by watching everyone else while eying the rest of the room as well. Waiting for the woman to arrive.
