Once everyone is weighed in, you can hear Powell grunting as he adjust controls. "Alright everyone, this is the rough part. I suggest long, deep breaths."
You can hear the hum of rockets, that sound of explosions.
And then pressure and pain as you are pushed back into your seats, your eyes forced open and the pressure of your eyeballs against your skulls as the roar grows louder and louder.
Minutes pass. They feel like hours.
Finally the pressure is off.
You can see loose objects floating in the cabin. And that's when you realize that if it weren't for the straps, you'd be floating too.
You can hear Powell's chuckle from up front. "Congratulations - you are the first human beings to venture beyond the Atmosphere."

The sensations that overtook Lex as they lifted off felt like he was stuck in a vise being squeezed shut. His eyes were open, but he could see nothing as he looked to the ceiling. Lex had never been a religious man, but he found himself praying silently for it to be over.
And suddenly it was over. The pressure reversed and then there was nothing. The dramatic reversal played havoc with him, and he had to fight with everything he had to keep from being nauseous. Between choked down heaves, he managed to croak out, "Never again."

Opting for the unique experience, Rex choose not to meditate, mind processing the pressure, pain, rough shot, looks about as objects float. "Not the last either," to Powell, then, keeping a hand on the straps, unstraps himself, seeing what zero G feels like.

Vivian keeps her eyes shut tight the whole way, muttering "Please don't explode." over and over again to herself. Once she hears Powell congratulate them, she cautiously opens her eyes and breathes a sigh of relief. "Didn't explode." she says with a small smile.

You could hear Powell chuckling. "You alright back there?"
The Duchess was the first to speak. "If what you said was true and the rough part is over, then yes."
"Well, about that. The rough part is over. The strange part is up next?"
"Strange?" It was Augustus Mayerts. "What do you mean by that?"
"Well, my boys and I back at the lab think we figured out the engine system for this space ship that'll take us where we need to go - but - "
"-it's untested?" The Duchess stared daggers up at the cockpit.
"Oh, we've tested it - but not at this range. And the effects are going to be a bit...disorienting. Hang On."
There was a loud click, followed by a humming noise.

FMx51oWc1d20+11 Save vs. poison for Rex, Lady Angeline.
<If there's another jump, I'll be slammed into the bulkhead.> Thinks it over. "Powell, will there be another hard jump like that one?"
Lady Angeline smiles, refraining from an eyeroll. "Don't break your neck. Not very useful to the mission dead."
"I only broke my collar bone, Angeline, both, not my neck."

"Disorienting?" Lex repeated with a concerned tone, "I don't know if my stomach will take disorienting!" He was just starting to relax after nearly being sick as it was.1d20

Your field of vision stretches out in front of you as you feel everything distort and pull forward suddenly.
For Lex this feeling is intensified - you can see the back of your own head, somehow. You see the last few hours replay themselves vividly before your eyes backwards and forwards. Time seems to stretch on.
Then everything snapped back together.
Powell's voice rang out. "How you doing back there?"
"I...hate...everything." Matt groaned weakly.

"Rider, just shoot me now and put me out of this misery." Lex pleaded from his seat, his head down and arms clamped across his stomach.

"...can't blame any of you. That is not an experience I want to repeat too often."
Lady Angeline gets up, offering a strange looking root to those complaining of nausea. "Chew slowly, it's a root I discovered that helps settle your stomach."

Rider groaned back. "Only if you promise the same."
There was a wrenching noise, and the tearing of metal.
"Alright, we're going in hot! Brace for landing!" Powell bellowed.

Vivian closes her eyes and grips the arms of her chair tightly, hoping they all survive the crash.
