Vivian sits by heels for a few minutes, trying to come to a decision that was best for her but also didn’t hurt Matt. Once she’s come to a decision, she heads back inside and asks to speak to Matt outside.
Taking a deep breath, Vivian is honest. “I must admit I found your confession surprising. I’ve given it some thought and I cannot say yes to that.” Holding up her hand, Vivian continues “If anything is going to happen between us, we need to do it right. That means a proper courtship with a proper date. What do you think?” Vivian then says, “I know it’s not what you were looking for and I’d understand if it’s not something you’d want to do.”
