"Gimme a break, I had things under control until you blocked the doorway." Jason replied with a grin.
"Why is it I don't believe either of you right now." Beth cut in with a giggle.

"I've seen your definition of "under control" - it matches my definition of "everything is on fire, for some reason". Tom shot back.

"Jeez, lighten up would you?" Jason replied, starting to watch his mirrors more closely. " I didn't realize you were such a doomsayer."
He checked the mirrors again. "Beth, we'll be in touch, gonna make a pit stop and then be straight back. Want anythinng?"
"No, I'm good. If either team checks in looking for you, I'll call. " Beth replied and the line dropped.
Jason said nothing as they stopped at a red light, clearly watching someone. "Think you can cause another distraction? There are two police cars following us, and one of the few times I've seen the term riding shotgun be literal."

Tom sighed. "Sure sure, always the heavy lifting with you." Tom looks for anything metal he can put in the path of a police car. In the alternative, he'll look for a fire hydrant.

"If you prefer, I can zip back and say while you can drive instead." Jason replied, watching behind them.
As the light changed, Jason pulled away then let out a sigh. "False alarm, they're turning."

"Hooray for false alarms then. Let's get back before we grow another tail." Tom answers, still looking about, just in case.

As Tom looked around, he suddenly sensed a large amount of steel approaching them at a high rate of speed, just before a garbage truck slammed into the driver's side . The air bags deployed as they skidded and spun wildly out of control. As the air bags deployed, Tom could feel something warm and wet splatter him as they slid to a stop. Jason was slumped in his seat against the seatbelt, blood dripping from somewhere as he cough.
From the other side of the garbage truck a familiar Russian accent shouted out," HI HONEY, I'M BACK!", followed by laughter.

Tom shifts to metal as he gets on the Bandaidio. "TOM TO ALL POINTS! JASON'S DOWN AND RAGGIE'S BACK! MEDICAL AND BACK UP NOW!" Not having any medical training, Tom uses his magnetic abilities to lift the car into the air to get a vantage point.

Tom responds to Alice. "We're driving on the way back from the airport, we just passed the intersection off the highway ramp."
