The Labyrinth

In infrared, Dante can see three monstrous creatures surrounding Wind Chill. They stand between nine and eleven feet tall. One is standing right next to Wind Chill, while the other two circle menacingly.

At the same moment he sees the creatures, Dante feels a powerful attempt to possess his mind. It isn't a psychic force, it feels different, and he is able to fight it off. Dante realizes the illusionist is hitting him with something harder. Although he can see the monsters around Wind Chill, he can't see anyone controlling the illusion he is facing.

Upon seeing the creatures, Dante yells, "Everyone, use infrared and you'll see them." He then begins to move to help WindChill.

He pauses his movements, as he feels the attempt to possess his mind. He then immediately puts up a mind block to prevent any one from attacking his mind again. (isp 4, duration 40 minutes)

With his mind protected he then ignores the illusions he is facing and races towards WindChill and the creatures attacking her.

Tiger experienced a familiar feeling as she surveyed the hanger: deja vu. She forced the feeling to the back of her mind and instead began grappling with the situation at hand.

The enemy knew her team well, except for Wind Chill and Charger, who were facing fairly generic attacks. It was likely that this team had been tipped off on the team's original composition.

"Wind Chill," Tiger said calmly into her comm as she leapt towards the ceiling. "If you move into the circle of fire around Jeckle the enemy will get burned if they attack you and they will be easier to spot against the flames."

Tiger's assault rifle was nearly empty. She had fired her grenades on the roof to provide cover as well as more than half the magazine. She had more ammunition, but she wasn't going to stop and reload now. From her high vantage point up near the rafters of the hanger she hurled the rifle at Patriot. The assault rifle hit him squarely in the back and knocked him over, but he leapt up, able to move once more. Patriot immediately raised his guns to begin shooting the creatures attacking Wind Chill, which he had been able to see immediately. "Hold your fire Patriot," Tiger ordered. "The rest of us need you eyes. Move to a vantage point and call out locations."

Charger is able to get over the wall and finds himself close to Tiger's faintly glowing opponent.

Charger looks at the shield and, since no-one's paying attenion, he'll reach out and try to calmly pass through the shield (You know, move slowly, Dune-style.). If it works, he'll time charge the guy's coat/robe. If it fails, he'll pull out his pistol and unload a clip, point-blank at the guy.

*Jeckle remains all but useless just now. the fear is all consuming. she is about as helpful to the group now as a snowflake against forest fire.

*her mind is moving back in time, to the car accident where she was trapped and nearly burnt to death. she is reliving the rising panic of hanging upside down and the flame licking up at her like they were alive.

*the accident starts to slow down and replay in her mind. the child's memories seem to make it all muddy. her mind knows something happened in the car. something happened to her to get her out, but she can't remember. she can barely hear her brother's voice calling out her name over the rising flames.

Miranda nods at Tiger and makes her way to the circle of fire.

After doing his best to cover the other's escape, Khris was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of his attacker. " Where did you come.. Arrggh." He cried out as the lightning bolt struck him

Now that the team has been inside the hanger a few moments they realize that behind a few helicopters in front are rows of hover cars, hover limousines, and hover cycles.

Patriot spots one of the individuals still hidden in the shadows, "Target. Under the red hover car."

"Got it," says Tiger. She opens fire with her revolvers. She is shooting wild, as she has no idea where the target is under the hover car, and she misses.

Tiger's opponent is shooting his unique gun at her while Charger approaches. The weapon is bulky and highly decorative with what looks like a dragon's head and neck surrounding the barrel. It shoots fireballs, which so far Tiger has managed to dodge by jumping between the rafters of the hanger while her adversary fires at the ceiling.

Dante finds his way blocked by an invisible wall, running into it just as Charger did a different wall a few moments ago.

Wind Chill's unseen (by her anyway) adversaries give her another vicious shove as she enters the circle of flame and then the three of them plunge in after her. The fires clearly hurt them, and Wind Chill can now see the three monstrous beings, all more than nine feet tall with wicked fangs and claws as they are clearly illuminated by the flames. They are shadowy and partly burnt, resembling balrogs after they have come through the fire, though they would not normally look that way.

The lighting hits Shroud and he is relieved to learn that the armor Tiger provided is insulated, and the armor takes minimal damage, no more than an ordinary bullet would do.

Charger is able to touch Tiger's opponent, but the strange glow is as hard as armor and not chargeable. He guy starts as he realizes how close Charger has gotten and says something incredibly impolite under his breath. Whatever he said, Charger is suddenly blinded ( -5 to strike, -10 parry/dodge, 50% chance of falling for every ten feet of movement). The next instant, Charger's opponent is fifty feet away.

"He's fast." Tiger notes to herself, though she realizes that at least two people were responsible for the coordinated attack.

[Dome]

Upon hitting the wall Dante touches it with his hand. 'So you can do that too,' he thinks to himself. Seeing WindChill finally get the upper hand, he turns and looks for the source of the wall, perhaps another psychic.

When he hears Patriot mention the other target, he quickly turns to face that direction. Upon finding the red hover car by taking his glasses off for a second he puts them back on to see if he can locate the target with infrared. Either way, he begins heading towards the new target, and if the wall is blocking his path in that direction he will have to feel along it to find its end to go around.

Dante can see the target in infrared, much like he can see the creatures. The man is crouched in a shadow, and surrounded by a black cloak - its easy to see how even Patriot would have to look for him.

Dante begins to jog towards the target hoping to not hit another wall. As he does, he collapses the night sticks and reaches into his coat pocket, depositing them there and picking up the pistols he picked up from the biker gang.

This time, Dante's path to the guy is clear, and he is able to approach.

[ooc - assuming he will stop to shoot from a good ways away, but there aren't any barriers between Dante and the hidden man, he could get close if he tries]

"Hmm." He says out loud. "At least I'm not a mime."

"Captain? I think I might be blind or something. Also, Glowy-McGee's some kind of magician or something." He says, out loud, lacking a com. At the same time, he checks to make sure a blindfold hasn't magically appearred on his head. "I'll be here if you need me." He adds, sitting down charging areas of the floor around him for contact explosions.

Dante, not having much experience with firearms, ops to try and get closer to the target before firing. Instead of heading directly for him however, he runs in a diagonal path in his general direction. If he is able to get within 50 feet he will then stop, pull one sidearm and use a double handed stance that he had seen on cop shows to try and control his aim.

As soon as he lines up the gun with his target, he pulls the trigger three times,(D20 rolls, Shot 1 = 5, shot 2 = 12, shot 3 = 17}

More annoyed than hurt, Khris faced the woman who had attacked him. even as he brought the Sragunov to bear, it disappeared, replaced by his matching Pythons, their infrared targeting lasers meeting on her chest before he squeezed the triggers. " Bosskityy?" He asked nonchalantly , " Does your Aussie friend ever stop talking? He's worse than me."
