"...there we are," helps the Duchess with getting Lex to his feet. "Luckily, it prefers to squeeze...or is it bite, then squeeze...I'll confess, I missed quite a few courses in college. You should recover fully."

"I'll be okay, Ma'am. That thing just had a bite like a vise." Lex replied , testingly flexing the fingers on the bitten arm. He holstered his .45 once he recovered it from the ground. "Thanks Rex. Viv, I'd love to see your mother's expression if you took that home to her." He chuckled a bit.

Vivian doesn't look enthused about the idea of of a trophy and says politely, "No, thank you, ma'am." Vivian looks anxiously at Lex and apologizes, "I'm sorry it tok so long to shoot. Are you really ok?"

The Duchess nods. "Right this way then, please - I'd like to get out of this jungle before dark, or a rain storm."
The group continues on.
(Perception, wilderness survival, detect traps - any/all of those rolls please)

Lex got to his feet, flexing his fist to make sure there was no real damage done. He reached down and pulled the arrow from the snake's skull, and handed it back to Vivian, " You made the shot, that's all that matters. Weren't you taught to take your time on your shots, rather than rush and miss?" He gave her a playful wink. " I'll be okay Viv, just glad that thing wasn't poisonous or it would be a different story."

"I'm as eager as the rest of you to get out of this jungle. That way, wouldn't be wise." Pokes at the edge of the quicksand with the same stick used to brain the anaconda. "Quicksand."

Lex heard the warning and saw Rex toying with the stick in the sand," Yeah, let's not go that way."

The group moves around the Quicksand, slowing them down.
The sun is setting, the sky already red, when the group breaks through the dense foliage and steps on brick paths. Looking down at the sun-bleached blocks, the group finds itself moving its eyes across a courtyard of stone, some eroded by the weather and the encroaching forest. The path leads to a giant Inca pyramid.
The Duchess smiles. "That, as you Americans say - Jackpot."

"...marvelous...And all we had to do to get here was put down a too friendly Anaconda, and avoid a dip in quicksand. I do believe it will be uphill from here on out."

"Good one of us is optimistic." Lex grinned, glancing over at Rex.

Vivian smiles weakly at Lex and follows the group around the quicksand quietly looking around for signs of any trouble coming their way.

The three of you can see the Inca pyramid before you as the others are setting up camp.
The Duchess smiles and looks "Any of you fancy a quick look-see?"

"Sure" Lex replied, then looked at Vivian with a smirk, " Unless you would sooner set up your own tent again, Viv. It was fun to watch the first time. "
