Once her tent is ready, Vivian heads inside and tries to get some sleep.
The next morning, Vivian gets dressed in clothing that would be comfortable for where they were headed and is quiet as they head out.

The expedition team slogs through the thick jungle and the stifling heat. Matt is whistling and taking it in stride, the heat no obstacle to him.
There is a shout from the point of the group. Quickly you realize it's a big snake - an Anaconda. It has wrapped around the swarthy man with the machete; the blade at his feet.

Stick in hand (for shooing animals or poking spiders to go away), Rex stumbles, letting it fly out of his hand.
[He's trying to make the aimed throw to the snake's head appear accidental]

"That is no corn snake." Lex muttered as he drew a .45 from it's holster. He pointed towards the snake's head, then asked, "Anyone know if this monster will release when it dies?"

"Rattlers often funny - not sure you can chance it." Matt responded as the Duchess went to her own holster and drew out a revolver.
Rex is able to poke the snake, which then bites at him (8 to strike)

Lex spasms and falls to the ground, as Vivian's arrow goes straight through the snake's skull, causing it to flop to the ground.
The Duchess clutches at Lex's arm. "Bloody hell - anyone have any medical training?"

After having dived aside to give the .45 the right of way, Rex gets to his feet in time to hear the cry for a medic. "I dabbled a bit before I lost interest, or dismissed." Proceeds to examine and treat Lexx's poisonous bite.

(GM Note: I kind of messed up on how an Anaconda works - they are non-poisonous, so let's just deal with that, shall we?)
Rex is able to treat the wound...because it wasn't poisonous - simply that the shock of being bitten caused Lex to fall.
The Duchess tends to the man who had be constricted and sends three others to bring him back to the camp.
"Well, if that's quite enough, let's move along, shall we?" She looks to Vivian. "If you wish to keep that snake as a trophy, I'll have one of the men bring it back to camp and give instructions on how you'd like it prepared."
She then helps Lex up, smiling. "I trust you'll fully recover?"
