The crew unpacks and sets camp - an elaborate affair of well-made tents and portable stoves for heat with simple chemical torches. The Duchess oversees the operation with clockwork precision as the airship prepares to leave with most of the wealthy and indolent passengers.
The jungle beyond is dark and dense with brush, foreboding and enticing.

Lex took hiss time setting up his tent and seeing to his things for one simple reason, he did not want to have to set up everyone else's tents for them. Once it was up, he ducked in to check on his equipment. Of asked, he would help of course, but right now he did not feel like volunteering.

Rex is familiar with several of the ancient Inca and Nazca legends, but being there, feeling the air, is exciting. It helps that he's seeing animals and plants he had never even heard of in books before...
Vivian and Lex set up their tents. Matt comes in to assist Vivian. "May I, ma'am?" He flashes a smile, while waving to Lex in a disarming manner.

"...fascinating...my professors would give their front teeth to see half of this..." Rex's voice low, intellect in awe of the new and unknown species.

Lex had already decided if Vivian wanted his help, she would ask, but then he saw Matt approach. He gave a wave back with a bit of a smirk, and then resumed setting up. With things ready, he walked over towards the Duchess tent to see she had in store for them
(no wilderness skills to roll, Lex is a city boy)

Vivian, who is almost done setting up her tent, smiles in a polite and formal manner at Matt and says, "No thank you. I think I've got this."

Matt grins and chuckles. "Sure you do. Gal who can hold her own is a rare special something. Just an offer of help though." He says with genuine respect in his voice.
The Duchess was setting up a hammock as Lex approached. "And how are you, sir? Adjusting well to the heat?"
Rex couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched, but whether from out in the trees or from someone in the camp he could not tell.

<...now I know how how the criminals I fight feel...> he thinks, doing his best to keep aware of it, without raising suspicions. "...fascinating place. I didn't fare too well in my scholastic pursuits, but picked up enough to know most of this is unknown."

"Not exactly, Duchess, but I will manage." Lex replied with a nod. " Just wondering, now that base camp is ready, what is the plan?"

The Duchess smiles. "The Plan? Oh, simply you darling man - we find the temple, excavate and bring everything out into the world."
Matt tips his cowboy hat and backs away to let Vivian work.
Rex is unable to shake the feeling as he tries (and mostly fails) to sleep in his tent.
The Morning rises and the Duchess, now dressed in jodphurs and a form fitting blouse and hat, leads the Rex, Lex, Vivian, and several other workers into the brush...

"You make it sound so easy" Lex said with an easy smile, despite her tone annoying him slightly. "I won't keep you then. Good night."
next morn, despite a less than relaxing sleep, he was wide awake and in good spirits as they prepared for the jungle search
