"I can certainly run a trace and see if there have been any 7.92mm rifles sold or stolen recently. To fire that kind of a bullet would the gun also need to be modified or just the bullet? I might be able to find out who has the expertise to make those kinds of modifications." "Wouldn't need to modify a rifle to shoot the rounds; there's hundreds of thousands of German mausers on the market that can shoot the round. All you have to do is buy a stock model and modify to a shooters specifications. The round itself is where we should start looking. Who around here been making specificity bullets and selling them on the market." |

Alice found Avi in the armory, with the bullet under a microscope. He looked up at the sound of her arriving. " Hey. This is really weird. Whatever it was they fired at me, it was a heck of a long shot. No normal rifle shot, this is the stuff the military trains. Odd thing is no one uses this caliber rounds anymore, especially for a shot like this. " He went to scratch his head, and winced slightly. "Let me finish up here and I'll be ready to go."
Jason shrugged," Hey, you called me old first..... wait, I called you Ironsides... nevermind. Beth, any chance we can find out the mayor's itinerary for the timeframe we are looking at? Bad enough he may be involved, but if we can put him directly involved, we have pay dirt."
Long and Sara were conversing when Kristian approached them," I put a motion sensor on Homicide's bed. He moves and alarms go off. He is secured too , I just needed to stretch my legs a bit. Trevor will be up and around tomorrow, but I'd like to see him stay off the roster for a few days."
Rusty smirked," And you'll never know, kiddo." She laid down on her bunk and folded her hands behind her head. " Oh, and tell Angel the good doc I don't know where the Doc's workshop is, but now that I think about it, but I remember meeting him at a place out in the 'burbs. Too bad I'm just a flunky, or I might remember where it was."'

Sara eye twitches as she turns to look back into the holding area where Rusty and Deci were talking. "See this is why I don't like people coming down when I'm interrogating someone; stuff like this happens."

"You know what we are not all knowing and did not know you were interrogating someone so...no I am not going to take my anger on the situation out on you as it is not your fault. I am sorry." She says defeated despite all that she has perceived happened in this day.

"Your right, Deci." Sara said. "It wasn't my fault."
Sara watches Deci in a way that indicates Deci should probably leave now. The cyborg was a lot less understanding then the rest of the team and Sara did not have a lot of time to be dealing with whatever was going on.

Alice frowns, a bit confused. "That is odd." she agrees. She then updates Avi on everything that Beth had discovered and what they were talking about doing. Alice sighs, "Long flat out refused to come along and I understand why. The only problem is that it's imperative we keep the Mayor in the dark. If he's involved in this and he realizes what we're doing, it could get really hairy." It's clear Alice needs some advice from someone who has been doing this a lot longer than she has.

Rusty chuckled," Yes, run away little one so Angel can beat some answers out of me. Go on, you don't need to see this." She turned and sat on her cells' bunk and leaned back, still holding her smirk.
(Alice)
Avi nodded. " The fake warrant may not be the best idea then." He rubbed his chin. " What about if we only bend the truth instead of breaking the law? We all have government identification, why not use it? Tell them it's national security or something like that, or that you got a report of a dangerous felon in the area? If Siang finds out we were around his helicopter, he doesn't need to know why. He'll be suspicious, but have no proof why we were there."

Beth shrugged," Sure, I should be able to find his schedule, or at least his public one. Give me a few minutes." She went to the computers again.
Jason nodded," Cool.I'll go see what Avi and Alice came up with."
As Jason left, Tom could see as Beth sat down, she was rubbing around her bruised eye again

Deci still irritated goes up to Long and wonders about something. "I have a feeling you and I are very similar in views and what I think the team is doing is wrong. Perhaps we can find a legal means to do this so nothing is discovered and help everyone out in the end. I mean there are so many options here and they just want to, no never mind. I am probably letting all this get to me more then it needs to be."

Alice considers Avi's suggestion and then nods. "I like that idea. I think it works better than the warrant idea, which could really bite us in the ass if something goes wrong." Alice smiles a little, looking a bit relieved. "Let's go find Jason and Tom and fill them in on the plan."

(I am assuming that the three are standing in the hallway outside the holding area.)
First thing Long closes the door to the holding area so there are no more comments from the peanut gallery. Then placing a gentle hand on each of their shoulders. "Ladies, please. Bickering is not bringing anybody closer to solving this case. Deci, I am sure that Alice and Jason are doing the best they can to get things done. You and I both disagreed on the methods used which is why we are working with Sara to find the M.E. Sara, we truly apologize for interrupting your interrogation. Were there any other questions you wanted answered before we came in? It sounded like she had some info on a safe house he had on the other side of town. Did I hear that right? Maybe we could try a different tactic to get her to talk, one that involves the three of us. Maybe we could work out a deal for her."

"A deal is the only thing that's going to make her talk now." Sara said, brushing off the head. "No, Long, I don't have anything else to ask her because that ship is sunk. I really like how you guys like bitching about how bad this team is in front of her. Gives her the idea that she is in a lot better position to screw with us, then us screwing with her.
"I don't know what the issues are with this team, but someone seriously needs to get their shit together before we leave here to do anything else."
Seeing Sara was not in the mood to talk with Rusty anymore. She was far more incline to make her wait before doing anything else. She goes for the exit to retrieve her aspirin to dull the headache rubbing in her skull.

Beth stopped and looked at Tom, a puzzled look on her face until she touched her sore eye again. She sighed, and looked at him, " Tom,... I," She looked down to collect herself, " there are a few things I haven't told you. I was in an abusive relationship, and I left him four months . He..., wasn't too keen on the idea of signing divorce papers. Look," she took Tom's hands into hers," I don't want to get you involved in this, okay? I can handle it."

Leaving the others and heading for her room, Deci nearly walked into Sierra. " Oh, sorry." She stepped out of the way, then added," You okay?"
(Sara, Long and Alice)
Sara was headed for her room when she overheard Avi and Alice. Avi beckoned her over," You know military, what sort of weapon fires a 7.92 mm round close to a half mile accurately? The rifling on this round is not from a rifle. The markings are all wrong. It's something heavier. Any ideas? "
Long was alone when heard Rusty on the other side of the door," So what do I gotta do to get some grub around here?"
