As McKenna watched Mengsk leave and shook her head, then gave Flip a curious look at his comment, and couldn't help her response slipping out, "Would you sooner be flying one of those Dominion cruisers of freighters?"

Flip shakes his head, "not what I said at all. Just meant I wouldn't exactly call what we are doing Zipping along, cruising maybe. But definitely not zipping. Besides I have done my time in the military, I'm done with all that. Too much structure for me. Sorry MJ, think you and the Galaxy are stuck with me for a while," he say with a smirk, and a little wink.

"Could be worse,"McKenna teased, forcing herself to take another soupful of soup, and grimacing at it, "Tastes worse when it starts getting cold."

Leaning forward elbows on the table, eyes focused on MJ's face, Flip says, "I can say there is no where I would rather be."
After a pause and a sip of whatever was in his cup, "anyway, I never thought I would look forward to Salad. Hey maybe we can head back to that subway debris field and grab some of those floating bread loaves. At least then we would have something to dip into the soup."

Jessica smirks at Flip's platitudes and resists the urge to roll her eyes at him as she finishes her soup. "Should be fine," Jessica replies to Tawfeek's earlier question, "I've been making good progress on the project. Should be ready for a working test for when we get to Saturn."

"Salad? Come on, this isnt food, it's what food eats. Don't we have rice or pasta of something?" McKenna asked. She finished her soup with a sour look and then got up to put her dishes on the counter to clean and sputtered, "No chocolate, no meat, no sex, I might as well became a vegan nun. If anyone wants me, I'm gonna go play racquetball in the cargo hold for a while." And she started for the door, intending to head to her quarters to change.

"I'll hang a cross, if it helps," Tawfeek said to McKenna, as he slid something to Jessica.
Jessica could see that the paper wasn't promising. Seemed the Saturn Colonies were becoming a little rough-and-tumble.
"A test may be needed, after our arrival," Yawfeek said.

"Fairly sure some of those can be addressed...," he pauses before adding, "I mean once we get to Saturn we may find some meet or chocolate."
As much as he wanted to follow MJ, he chose to try and stay focused. He got the impression the Captain wasn't exactly thrilled about the relationships that were developing around the ship.
Standing up he clears his plate and says, "think I am going to spot check our course. Make sure the AP hasn't changed its mind on us."

Jessica looks at the paper Tawfeek slid over to her and nods. "Understood. I'll get back to work then." Jessica quickly rinces her bowl and tells everyone "I'll be in the workshop if anyone needs me."
Following MJ, Jessica grins at her and leans over and says, "Feel free to come visit the workshop anytime for...." Jessica trails off and grins playfullly. "I could always use a break every once in awhile."

"You know I might have to hold you to that." McKenna said heading for the door to Flip on her way out. When Jess spoke playkully, she turned and walked backwards and replied, " Maybe after I unwind I'll drop by, if you aren't in the middle of anything." She continued for her room to get her racquet and ball before heading to the cargo hold.

Jessica nods with a grin and says, "Perhaps I'll see you later then." Jessica then heads to her workshop.

"Big tease." McKenna called after Jess as she departed, then continued on.

Flip heads to the bridge and sits down at the controls and then checks out the flight path to make sure they are on the correct course. Making any correction along the way.

[Galley]
"I just love these crew get-togethers," Tawfeek, said to the otherwise empty table. Piking up his bowl, he wondered how long before cabin fever was actually going to set in.
[Bridge; from where Avionics, being the flying sensor things, are located]
Mensk was on the floor of the lower level of the bridge, with the access hatch open, revealing the sensors and such things that avionics have (according to Wikipedia, at least). The lights on the bridge were dimmed to allow visual navigation in the darkness of space, so the avionics area, which is small and dark, to begin with, was nothing but shadow. Technical skill rolls!
[The cargo hold]
With the Delorian gone, it was mighty easy to play racket ball against the walls of the hold. Well, zero-G racketball. Saves energy to not have gravity there, don't you know. Zero-G movement rolls!
[Jessica's work room]
The pistol rest where she left it, waiting for her to crack the efficiency barrier the military had been facing. Skill rolls!
[The bridge]
On the bridge. the darkness and emptiness of the outer solar system contrasted starkly with the dim lights of the bridge. This deep in space, even the ore carriers were a rare sight.
Making sure the ship was on course was an easy job for Foreman. There was a signal from the navigation computer that Avionics was currently being accessed.
Less rare, at least to Foreman, was the sight of Mensk on the lower level of the bridge. Cinnamon rolls?

(no zero-G skills, so [dice=100] )
Though the lack of gravity made it almost impossible, McKenna still tried to beat the hell out of the racquetball whenever it got close to her. It wasn't so much to practice, just something to do to kill time and burn of some energy. it was a good workout, and as she played she couldn't help but giggle as she had fun.
