Chapter 71: (Alice's Team) The Helicopter Angle

Sio slows her pace, then comes to a stop, growling quietly to herself. "Sonofa..." before trailing off, glancing around cautiously. "Why is this **** never easy..." the blonde then asks, looking up towards the building rooftops and scanning then carefully.

Though Sio and Deci were looking, neither of them could see anything that looked threatening, let alone a weapon.

Crouched behind the car and looking as well, Avi said," What about those two on the road? Think they might have called ahead?"

Jason was next to him, then in the blink of an eye, in the SUHV turning it so the others could get in while using it to protect them. " I don't think it was them. Alice you scanned them, right?"

"Deci, front seat this time with Avi." Jason said, moving from front to back," Whoever's band adio this is, it stopped squealing." He said, putting it on without a second thought."

Deci hearing that she will be in the front seat actually smiles but lets everyone else enter in first but also realized it was not the boss that said that so does not fully move until she sees how Alice responds and once that is determined she will get in saying "Thank-you."

Not seeing anything, but very dis-satisfied with that, Sio gives her head a shake before zipping back to the HSUV. "I didn't see a damned thing out there." she growls, climbing into the back seat once more. "My spidey-sense is tingly though!"

(OOC Note: she doesn't actually have spidey sense!)

Alice doesn't waste any time getting back into the hovercraft, wanting to get back to base ASAP.

As they get back in quckly, Alice suddenly felt a sense of urgency, followed by a thud against the roof of the SUHV and a subsequent whir of a ricocheting bullet. Jason slammed his door shut and said "crap, thats heavy caliber they are using. Avi, go!"

The vehicle was in motion before the next shot slammed between the driver side roof pillar and Avi gunned the motor, causing the SUHV to slew a bit as the took off. Three more shots slammed into the rear door as they departed. " What the hell was that all about? Anyone see where those shots are coming from?"

"I am afraid I did not." The sounds of the bullets fuelling a bit of adrenaline to take her mind off the fact that she is once again in the vehicle. "I also have no clue to which that was about. I am more of just glad we have gotten away."

Alice shakes her head and replies, "No, sorry, I don't know where the shots came from either." Alice keeps looking out the window to see if she can find any clues as to the whereabouts of the shooter or shooters.

The SUHV was no longer pretending to be a normal truck with Jason at the wheel as it rocketed over the Miami skyline. "Gonna try something." Jason said and put his band adio back on, "Heads up, we're coming in hot. No injuries but someone got the drop on us."

"Speak for yourself." Avi said, who was rubbing his shoulder, " Not bad,but I got tagged. Jason, what if someone sees us?"

"We just got ambushed by an unknown and you're hit and you are being a back seat driver?" Jason snapped

As Alice looked out the back, she caught a glint of a reflection from one of the rooftops, but Jason was traveling so fast it was impossible to tell what it was.

Hearing that Avi had been hit draws a look of concern from Sio, but with Jason attempting evasive maneuvers she decides that unbuckling to check on Avi would be a bad idea. Instead, she presses one hand to the ceiling of the HSUV while the other grabs at her seatbelt. "Anti-materiel weapons aren't exactly subtle.. I can bail and go hunting?"
