Rex, the design suggest a clock of some kind - it's basically counting down to an alignment of some sort - planets perhaps? The entire thing is of a clockwork piece, but inside each of the spheres you think you recognize the hum of something electrical - possibly powered by an alternating current device. You realize that information would be of use to Tesla.

"...here's hoping," he mutters, taking a sharp look around before making his way out and back to the car where Tesla is waiting.

"Had a run in with our quarry, and something of a dilemna..." Rex describes the machine in detail, recalling it from memory what he saw and observed.

"Hmm...so, subtlety and sabotage...not my strengths young man. Do you have a suggestion?" Tesla seems to gather strange electronic items that he fashions to himself.

"I was going to demolish it, few well placed tools in the works, but wasn't sure it'd be enough, or put it down properly. If you can build something, I'm willing to take it back inside. The Colonel would really dislike me going in without all my gear the first time," says Rex with a smile.

"We shall go together then. I've had quite enough of this criminal lot." Tesla taps his cane on the floor of the car as he steps out. "Please, lead the way."

Rex and Tesla find their way to the astrolabe room...only to find it now filled with cultists. A single misstep will alert them to your presence.

2d100 Strategy & Tactics, Prowl
Rex, seeing the cultists, frowns, keeping the remarks that come to mind unspoken, guiding Tesla to a more discrete spot where, if necessary they can act from a sound strategic position.

Rex and Tesla manage to find a corner.
"This is a blasphemy of my work - we must stop the device." He raises his cane. "I am prepared to lose my life in this endeavor, but you are young, you may go."
