The Scarecrow is violently shaken as if he were a ragdoll. "What's the matter with you?" The monster with the big arms screeches. Bullets whiz by and the monster pulls you away. You slam into a wall (another 10 damage to the field). "Talk to me, man."

"... Argggh... errr, well I was running from you being a giant monster and all. Speaking of which, shouldn't you be speaking German..."
The Scarecrow will (hopefully) be able to break free from the illusion. Or at least interpet it enough to act somewhat (GM call).

You realize the monster has the features of Augustus Mayerts, the eldest of the Legionnaire brothers. The illusion begins to fade...

The Scarecrow shakes his head "Wow, I hate being on the receiving end of illusions rather than casting them myself. I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that our resident evil sorcerer is still alive, but on the good news front I managed to snag the talisman he's been using for the zombies. Alas I don't know how to make full use of it, other than knowing as long as I have it the zombies aren't going to attack me."

Augustus takes the talisman. "My likely answer is to smash it, but right now let's use its protection. My brothers are having a heck of a time with these things, so maybe you best go after the man in charge?"

The Scarecrow says "Hand it back to me, I have an idea, I guess I can just try and command them. To be honest I think the best course for dealing with this guy is going to be able to turn his own zombies back on him. Neither the chief or myself seem to be especially resistant to each other's powers. I used fear on him and grabbed his talisman, he turned around and hit me with an illusion with the results you witnessed. Such a battle is going to be a coin toss at best and I want to weigh the odds before a rematch, I imagine he's thinking the same thing".
The Scarecrow braces himself to try and tackle Augustus and take the talisman, he didn't want to actually hand it to him, it occurs to him that he could always be the sorcerer under a mask of deceit (and this was a trick to get the talisman to begin with).
For the sake of speed (since I can be a slow poster) if The Scarecrow gets the Talisman back (which I'm guessing he might since Augustus didn't use it or run off with it) his next action is going to be to find a zombie, bear the talisman and say "Stop" while he also tries to command it with his mind like he would driect a spell. He figures the Talisman can't be THAT hard to use otherwise it wouldn't be a very good weapon, and the Zombies also seem to be autonomous enough to walk around without needing a herder constantly present.

The Scarecrow grabs the talisman and finds a zombie. He raises the talisman to the zombie and begins to command when he can feel the necromantic forces tug at the talisman into his very soul
(need saves vs. magic and psi).

The Scarecrow's mind is flooded by thoughts of commanding the undead and what he could do - how he can wipe out everything ...all-life, destroy it and make it his. His body rejects the mystical possession, but he cannot keep out the thoughts blasting into his skull, even as the zombie he has encountered stops on his command. The Scarecrow can tell the zombie is now under his control...but can he hold himself together?

The Scarecrow grins evilly, unseen under his mask. He then says "Zombies! Follow me" commanding as many as he can find he shall lead them back to the chief and order them to rip him apart. World conquest is a definite possibility, but first it occurs to him that he should get rid of his immediate mystical rivals (and you know, maybe someone will talk some sense into him).
Is The Scarecrow capable of sensing the other zombies throughout the city or anything like that?

The Scarecrow can sense the other zombies in town, as well as the mages who are their local directors. There are 4 directors (the fat man from earlier plus three others). The Mayerts brothers follow you and when you order the zombies to kill the man, they leap up, trying to wrest the talisman from you. Augustus has a lock on your wrist. "Don't do this!"

The Scarecrow asks Augustus "Why not? I think I can handle the power to command the dead. Besides without it I'm not sure I can defeat this coven, as you've seen I'm as vulnerable to their spells as anyone else, with this I can easily turn the tide, destroy them with their own creations... and then just think of the possibilities..."
If Augustus can reach him, let me know and I'll roll another save (if applicable). Otherwise, unless they disarm him The Scarecrow will indeed give the zombies the order to snack on the evil mages.

Augustus sighs. "Wizards. Always thinking all that simple book-learnin' means you can handle anything." as he goes to disarm the Scarecrow with a kick.
