Would it matter who is Buffy, I mean this is a complete reboot with no metagaming. Should not all characters have the option to be the buffy out of fairness?

Sarah L's role relies, as I said, on her previous knowledge of the game.
It would be less fair to dump someone into the same position, without sufficient knowledge.
The job's been taken.

Sarah Lockheart's he Buffy, and you can rest assured it isn't as glamourous as it sounds.

so we will be her early Willow? get her the axe, the stake, and back out of the way, don't forget to cheer for Buffy? or later Willow, where she was a bad ass witch, and kicking ass in her own right?

I might not be able to post on nights, but I could sure get Coop's sheet ready to post up.
domey, don't think of the non slayer pcs as sidekicks. they are there more to keep her out of trouble and watch her back in a fight because the slayer will get targeted first by the baddies.

I get it now. People think that because I mentioned Buffy the Vanpire Slayer as a similar setting, there is an expectation there should naturally be a superer hero than the rest.
That is not the case. Or, at least, that wasn't why I mentioned the show.
I mentioned BtVS because, in that show, the populace ignores the presence of monsters and rationalizes them away. Therefore, in such a setting, subtlety and discretion are of absolute importance. Otherwise, things would get chaotic. In the Buffy setting, players work behind the scenes as much as possible. They are not in the open.
That's why I mention it.
So move on from this side-kick vs. Lead hero crap, huh?

I was confused, and I just wanted to be clear on what you wanted us to roll up. A regular character or a sidekick character. I'll see if I can come up with an idea shortly.

Regular characters. I'll let the hierarchy sort itself out.

So I am thinking, I would like to play a person with magic, from an enchanted object like from HU2 page 149. A magic caster that found or inherited an object.
This person, knows little about magic or mystical arts, they just stumbled upon this thing, they carry it and they can do some magical like stuff since they got it.
Thoughts?

You could give it a shot, with a few of thoughts.
First, magic spells only. NO super powers. Second, for special abilities, instead of flying, make it invulnerable to vampire bites. But, roll randomly for it. Third, as you already know, having the item does not mean having magical knowledge. If your PC wants to learn new spells, it would have to take on a new magic class, and ditch the item (like getting over an addiction). They could learn Lore skills normally, but they won't be available to start, since the PC might not realize they exist or need to be learned.
What kind of item were you thinking?

sorry work got hectic this week with testing and haven't been able to spend alot of mental time thinking on a new PC cause work is draining me.
Not sure exactly for an object. was thinking something small and wearable, a ring, a necklace, a pendant, or something like that. Something that could be found in an old family jewelery box and mixed in with other jewelery could have been forgotten. And most of what you stated as rules, I was planning on putting into the pc.
Will be completely devoid of magical knowledge, except for "hey look what i can do when I wear this thing. This is so cool. This thing must be magic or something. I thought all that stuff was just in books and movies."
