Julia gets into the Humvee and looks around with an impressed look on her face. 'Nice' she thinks to herself as the others get into the vehicle. Julia listens to the conversations going on around her, not speaking much since Forbes hasn't addressed her directly as she starts to think about special equipment requests she will make when the time comes.

"It definitely is a means of transportation. Been on a couple of them but only in field exercises. Most of my work unfortunately and chiefly why they let me in the army is because of my skills with the computer. My communications skill is just extra icing on the top." Alex says to the sergeant.

"Brilliant!" Forbes eyes shot to Lane's nose. He hoped she wouldn't think him anti-semetic for staring.
"That's our plan. We go in as arms dealers. Lane will handle sales. She can sell sand to a haji. I'll be the management. We'll speak farsi to each other and get on as Iranians. Guglia? You could be Lane's english-spanish translator. Lane's good with central and eastern European languages, and some Middle Eastern, but Spanish? You help her with that.
"McKenzie? Your job is big. The team driver. You get us from a to b, and keep us safe on the road and at the destination.
"Alexandra? You would make a fabulous and dangerous body guard. Head of security.
"Mr. Simmons? I cannot think of a better head of collections. The intellectual leg-breaker.
"And Xander, if you ride with us, you're our local wildlife expert."
Forby scratched his chin and actually smiled a bit. "So we ride into town, make some nickel and dime gun deals with the natives. Then send out the word we've got some semtex to move. Offer samples, but say we're only looking to move in quantity. Iranian jihad and all that. Taking down the great Satan.
"We'll need credentials. Like an FBI and Interpol file saying what bad people we are. We'll need some flash cash, and some high roller accommodations. We'll initially need some guns to sell to establish ourselves and some semtex to bait the hook with. When Sangretoro (spanish for bleeder) makes an offer, we give him the sample, and say we'll bring in a ship from Cuba. Nothing less than a ton of explosive. Then we go from there.
"We'll need a helicopter at the site, and a couple of ground victors. Two like this, or maybe a reinforced Suburban and a good and new Jeep cherokee. Black is best. Tinted windows. Share tag and VIN numbers with rental vehicles. Armoured. Everything has to scream 'Gang!'
"We'll stay on the Texas side for some security, and if anyone asks, it's for safe drinking water. We're going to need FBI and DEA files for gangs and drug movers. Where kingpins hang out. Clubs, restaurants, casinos. Bosses, not street trash. Who's who and what's what. Any arms dealers to this scum, we take down to make ourselves the sole suppliers. We make a splash with the No. 2 gang, and No. 1 will come looking. Either to shut us down, or to outbid the competition. We make them an offer they can't refuse, and we learn about them, their capabilities and their intentions. Then we strip that layer away, and ingratiate ourselves with the next."
Forbes got out of the truck and smoothed his suit. "Mr. Simmons? McKenzie? Lane? Please second guess me if this plan is flawed. Same goes for the lot of you."
He looked back to Xander, eyes going as far as the man's chin. "Hmm, sounds like an extremely unique weapon. I'd hate for any member of the team to have such a unique signature that could be traced by its high standard of workmanship to a particular television programme. But you make the call."

Alex did not like the plan one bit, and even though it may cost her everything she has she can not let them go through with this.
"I beg your pardon Lieutenant and even if this causes me everything I have worked for in my life, I can not let this plan you have suggested come to fruition. It would be pure suicide. For one, have you ever even been in the real world. I mean you seem to know everything about us but don't seem to know spit about the real world. I mean why show your whole hand. I mean me as a body guard. No. That is an idiotic move. If anything you send out a small team to take on the street level things and the other group that is the mover and shaker boss man with a piece of arm candy or the likes. Don't go with foreign movers. Especially not in Texas, I mean that just screams something is wrong."
"If you go in with all of us, it shows that we are a small criminal gang. And then the one I ran with did not do that type of thing." She really did not like revealing her past at all, but has no choice if to the benefit of her squad.

Forbes simply looked up for once, and to the Major. "I request Private Hemmaway be dismissed at once, and given a general discharge from the United States Army. If she rejects her discharge, I will request a court martial for insubordination. She is hereby dismissed from our team."

"And, I also recommend, once discharged, Alexandra Hemmaway be returned to her penal confinement to serve out the duration of her sentence. Her record should NOT be expunged. She is absolutely unfit to wear a uniform unless said uniform is penitentiary orange. Clearly she lacks any character to serve in this man's army." Forbes looked at Alexandra and made eye contact.
"You could have proposed an alternative without insubordination. But now? I can't trust you. Go back to jail to play dice. We don't need you. And oh, tell me your better idea, GENERAL Hemmaway... Oh nothing? Go back to the stockade... Please take the bimbo away!"

Alex stands resolve in the face of the decision of the major, knowing what she did although wrong may have saved the team both from a plan that would not work and a leader that could not lead. But she did this for a reason at this time instead of before because of what the major said.
She could be wrong, and will pay the price if it is but to her that meant they were no longer of the military, and at that point tries to remember exactly what she signed when transferred in her head to see if she did indeed resign from the military for all intense and purposes.
Still if the price had to be paid, she is glad she did.

"You're fired from the team. Do not look at the Major! He won't save you. Insubordination is unforgivable. Report to the provost martial for insubordination and uhhh, MURDER. You're off my team. You could have suggested something other than my plan without calling me an idiot, but you had to, and that pissed me off. Enjoy life in the stockade. Please serve every year you so richly deserve."

The vehicle started rolling again as Major Randle smirked as Simmons brought up his old handle," Haven't been called that for the better part of thirty years."
The tension in the vehicle was like electricity in the Hummvee as Hemmaway and Forbes had their heated exchange. Randle cleared his throated," Are you two done? First off, no one is going anywhere or dumped off this team. Each of you were chosen for a reason, not just the skill and abilities you bring to the table. Now, would you two like to start over on your own, or do I lock the pair of you in a storage crate for the duration of the flight to Texas while hogtied, which I can garandamntee will have a sidetrip through Rammstein and prehaps CapeTown before we get there if you understand my meeting?" He paused a moment to collect himself, clearly miffed. " Now, Alex, try to be a little more constructive with your opinions, and Forby, lighten up a little. You might have been tagged as the feild commander for this project, but it doesn't mean you'll always have the right answers so listen to your people. We'll discuss it privately if you disagree, understood?"
The vehicle stopped, and Xander shut off the engine," Glad I'm up front. Welcome to Langley-Eustis WalMart, get your shit and get out" He was already climbing from the vehicle.

Simmons looked back and forth between the LT and the private. He thinks, 'man that kids got some stones. Tell her she's off the military chain and let the pitbull go.'
He reaches out and grabs her by the hand and pulls her back to her seat. If she looks at him he holds up a finger to his lips and shakes his head. Its time for her to remain silent.
He speaks up, "sir if I may. In all fairness, on the plane the LT explained we would not be held to military etiquete and you yourself said as much when we met. For someone who has been held to strict protocol for so long and then to just have it removed, can be ... overwhelming, Like a spring under pressure being released," he says making a releasing motion with his hand.
"Couple that with the LT requesting that any of us that found fault with his idea speak up, and we basically have a large misunderstanding. Granted she should not have done it so aggressively, but that is a fault of inexperience," he says. The tone of wisdom honed over time evident in his voice.

Alex still not having said a word jumps out of the vehicle with almost a smile on her face. Still not having any money on her leaves her in a bit of a pickle so once out of the vehicle she waits.

Julia is alarmed by how badly things go as quickly as they do. When Simmons tries to defend the girl, Julia replies. "Even non military workers know it's not a good idea to call their supervisors an idiot five minutes after starting to work for them. It's called having common sense. Most civilian supervisors would have fired an employee on the spot for doing something like that."
Exiting the vehicle, bag in hand, Julia shakes her head at the almost smile on Alex's face. "That's not going to help your case, you know." she says to the inexperienced girl quietly before heading inside.

Lane had a brief sigh and stepped out behind Alex. "Hey Private No Class? I get it. Mr. Forbes doesn't have your experience munching rug on the prison butch queen. He's never boosted rides and tagged turf, either. Maybe he is not as knowledgeable about the vast criminal syndicate you once controlled, Dona Corleone...But he's your lieutenant. You will respect him." She learned plenty about Alex just from Forbes' comment about prison.
"As for me? I've only held three jobs. Starbucks. The IDF and the Central Intelligence Agency. But if, on day one, I went to my boss and called him an idiot? He'd fire me too. Our CO is an autistic savant, if you haven't figured that out already. Calling him an idiot is not only politically incorrect, it's personally insulting to him and to me. You had no alternative to suggest, just kicked him in the balls.
"The man went out of his way to help you and even befriend you. This is how you repay him? You spit in his eye? What would you do to someone that doesn't like a shiksa like you? Shoot me in the back? Forbes is right. You do not belong here. We can't trust you."
She took a look at the Exchange and shook her head. "No, there is nothing I need now. At least nothing I can buy at a store. On second thought..." She wanders in, with a devilish grin, passing Alex without another glance.

Simmons shakes his head, "she never called him an idiot she said his idea was idiotic. Also how are we supposed to know he is autistic? We didn't have the privilege of reading his file."
He stands by the vehicle. He says to the Major, "it seems things have degenerated. Somewhat."
