"Sorry, I must have missed you spoke Spanish. There was a lot to keep up with. I think Forbes probably wants to keep that under wraps if you have to guess. Just trying to keep up with everyone. I'd like to learn more about how you learn to understand languages so quickly. Is it repetition, listening or an instinct, and could you demonstrate?"
Her gaze falls on McKenzie. "Let's get going. Here's directions. Do you want me reading them off or use the SatNav?"
{I understood we were around back, since Ramirez knows the way.}

(Vehicle wise, I think McKenzie, Lane and Julia are in one vehicle, the rest in the others?)
McKenzie snorts a little at Lane's first comments, about being spies. "The drug runners are rarely subtle, especially in this part of the world. The bordertowns are practically warzones, especially on the Mexico side. If I were one of them, I might be concerned dealing with somoene who ISNT showing strength." she explains. "Worse case scenario, I'll use my fists.. quiet enough, neh?"the former Ranger adds.
"Either is fine.. I'm used to flying by instrumen t, so driving by SatNav won 't be an issue. Also, are you talking about basketball? I'm more of a hockey girl... I don't tend to follow basketball.." McKenzie finishes, apologetic.

"I say again. Sierra Sierra to the SPIRIT actual victor..."
His gaze fell on Ramirez. "I'd guess the term 'lead' is relative. I thought 'point' meant out front. We need to settle on some vocabulary at some point."

Ramirez smirked, "What we need is for you to start talking like a human being and not a trooper on a LURP in the middle of nowheres. Forbes, anyone in earshot is gonna make you as military through and through is you keep that crap up. Listen to me, do I sound like I did multiple tours in the sandbox? Nope, and it purely intentional."He gave Forbes a playful backhander to the shoulder "Now, relax, take a deep breath and tell the others what you want from them, in plain english."

"Alright Ramirez. Never mind our scramblers... I'll be honest...
"Simmons, you're riding in the back seat with me and Ramirez. 10-4 good-buddy?" There was an open door and little time to debate.
"Alex, stay with Lane, McKenzie and Gulia. Let's go to town. Remember, no Spanish. Arabic and Farsi when you can. French, German or Russian when you must. We're strangers in the strange land. Bringing goodies at that, and fucking up shitbirds when need to. Listen first. Oblige when you can, and kill when there is no alternative."

"There, was that so hard?" Xander grinned, then glanced over his shoulder. " Uh, don't mind the mess." He said to Simmons with a smirk. He waited for the XO to get in before pulling away with a chirp of the tires. " So where to first?"

Simmons nods, "sounds fine to me," he says as he climbs in to the back seat of the vehicle. He pushes whatever is there out of the way and takes a seat.
"I'm ready to go," he says simply.

"Very well." Alex says joining the group she is to travel with and not really worried about the language thing based on the fact she only has the one language available to her.

Julia nods at Forbes and gets into the vehicle she has been assigned to, ready to depart when everyone is. As she does so, she explains to Lane, "It's always been been something I could do since I was young. As I said, I just need to listen to someone speaking the language for a few minutes and then I am able to pick it up naturally."

"May I watch. It helps me to mimic to watch someone use an ability. My second best language is Hebrew, so let's try with that. Should I use some elementary terms or speak conversationally?"

Julia nods at Lane, "You can simply speak conversationally." (You don't have to bold speech.. in fact, with the black backgrund of the site, it's easier on the eyes of you don't. )

Lane began by describing a basketball. Apparently, she loved the Knicks, Syracuse (and was distraught they lost) and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. She described a slight crush on a player named Tal Burstein, describing his skill and dexterity. Clearly she believed he is the best Israeli-born player ever. Then she made mention of The Beastie Boys, her favorite group, and plugged her I-pod into the car stereo.
This song immediately popped up:

Forbes looked at the composition of each vehicle and nodded. "Alright, this will suffice. Let's get osc, I mean let's go."

Simmons sits back as the car gets moving, he thinks, 'this is going to be a long tour.'
Outwardly he sighs deeply as he waits for the vehicle to get moving.
