"Will we have a liaison with the DEA, and or ICE? It might help us to figure out who is who in the game."

"Good questions, Lane." Forbes stared at the one and only spot in the carpet of the aircraft. "I am thinking support will be unavailable, but I would like to confirm that. ICE now uses Predator drones to identify illegal aliens. Is there any way to fit them with Hellfires for an unannounced air strike?"

Simmons ignores the remarks meant at him, obviously sarcasm wasn't taught in officer school.
He says, "the cartels do a great job of hiring ex military and mercs to bolster their ranks and even train their other troops. Saw alot of this in Central America. They make them lieutenants, and sometimes use regular thugs as front line cannon fodder. In this case though, they may have dumped the street level guys and went with even more ex-military or militia. Weapons like this you usually don't push on the street, so no need for thugs and punks."
He looks through the photo's, "any idea where the weapons originated? I mean these guys may be selling and smuggling, but their not builders. The explosives should be traceable to a manufacturer, and from there to where they went missing, and into the hands of these guys. If we can figure out their source, and take it out, maybe then we can make ourselves available as a new source."
He thinks for a moment and lets the others think over what he said, then adds, "What kind of communication gear did they have? Something encrypted I'm sure, "He looks at the young private and says, "Pitbull if you have access to gear they used before, even if it's encrypted, do you think you can break in and get us an ear?"

Major Randle nodded to Lane's question. " We can call on both if need be, and if we need drones,we won't bother with Predators, I'll call in Reapers from the Air Force, they're better pilots anyways and used to weaponry. Problem won't be support, it'll be getting it to you in time once you locate your target."
He turned to Simmons, " We did trace the guns, and they came from southern Europe through three different heists. Problem is, there are alot more of them. The one heist alone netted 300 Stoners among other things. Whoever is behind this steals containers from the ports after infiltrators got into workforces. Background checks of the involved have alway checked out so we're dealing with some serious forgery capabilities that it took MI6 to identify as fakes. Comm gear was less sophisticated. Department store cell phones with pay as you go accounts. Each member had one, all traced back to a WalMart here in El Paso, so that makes it sound like this is a regular route."

McKenzie snorts softly to herself at mention of the Air Force, but refrains from making any comment and instead focuses on the flying and listening to the briefing. As it stands, she'll leave further questions to the others for now.

"If they are using the same phones and adding minutes, we could get a wire on them, couldn't we? If they're that dumb, be might even be able to get numbers from speed dials from confiscated phones, if they are that dumb." It was a large assumption, but not at all impossible. "We could sit on the Walmart and see if anyone is buying in quantity, or get a wire on phones that have not been sold yet, if they're dumping their burners."

Lane heard McKenzies derisive snort about the Air Force and nodded. "That's why CIA recruits and trains its own pilots. Other than Gary Powers, we have a much better record than the USAF.
"Any chance this flight has refreshments? I'm a little parched."

Simmons says, "probably dumping their burners. I was hoping that with this kind of military gear," he says pointing at the weapons in the pictures, "that they would be using military grade comms equipment. Kinda ironic that civilian grade burner phones are better at keeping their actions secure than military grade gear would be."

"Even the best encryptions can get hacked." Randle replied. " Not to mention celphones are inconspicuous. The only numbers pulled off the phones besides each other were texts sent to a twitter account by one of them and two calls to a payphone in Cartago." Bing maps popped up on the screen and displayed a route between El PAso and the city in Costa Rica." Lane, there's a snack cart in the corner of the trauma booth, help yourself." He saw Xander starting to get up and added," there's no beer in it, Ramirez, this isn't a commercial flight."
Xander scoffed as he continued to get up. " I was heading to the washroom. I've got beer in my carry on if I want it." he grinned.
Randle only shook his head. " There's always one of them in the crowd."

Lowering the mic on her headset, McKenzie glances back into the cabin. "Hey Lane, could you grab me something as well? Preferably in a bottle." she asks the agent, offering a wave, then looks to the rest. "Can one of you make sure copies of the maps and files are transfered to my tablet? I'd like to pick them over a bit more later.."

Simmons grabs McKenzie's tablet and hands it to the private, "here, Pitbull I'm sure you know how to do what she is asking. This technology is not the kind of hardware I am used to handling, he says with a smile, obviously still trying to keep the quiet and sullen private involved in the mission and the team.

Lane returns with orange flavored San Peligrino. The bottle was a green glass bottle shaped like a grenade. "Well they have this. " She passed one out to everyone with a glass of ice.
"Funning aside, what do we do when we land?"

"Private Hemmaway?" Forbes was again looking at his boot, but his words hardened. "I need you to figure out what you need to intercept signal directly from disposable mobile telephones. We're not police, and do not require a court order. Your job is monitoring communications going forward, " Forbes took a drink from the orange beverage provided by Lane, and actually smiled a bit.
"Upon landing, we will contact signals intel at Ft. Huachuca and get you any and all equipment you will need. Once we identify targets, I want you listening to everything they say. Business, personal, calls to the dry-cleaner and phone sex with Suzy Rottencrotch back home. Hemmaway, we need intel to start out, and this is on you. This is what you do, hooah?"

McKenzie accepts the bottle but waves off the ice, giving a nod towards the control pannels. "Rather not risk a spill here." she explains with a wink. Opening her bottle she takes a brief sip, then re-caps it and sets it aside, away from the controls. A quick glance back through the open cabin door to the rest of the group. "So that it? Anything more you can tell us, Major?"
