Dr Light takes flight, admonishing Batman and Green Arrow. "Can the two of you knock it off until after we're out of this mess?" Carter takes to the air as well. "I have no idea how this could have happened. I've never even seen such a device. But we'll have to worry about that later." The sand beneath the group starts to tremble and sink as a hole opens in the center. A hole filled with teeth, each as long a car and razor sharp. "You need to get clear of the Vulcan mole! Run!" You all hear a voice cry out behind you. Turning, you'll notice a man on a jetpack with a raygun. "It expels lava!"  |

GA was about to retort Batman's comment when Dr. Light scolded them. " A Vulcan wha.... okay, spitting lava is not good." He began backing off quickly, though he didn't exactly trust jetpack guy either.

Shayera immediately takes to the sky, flying above the ground to be above potential danger. Looking around for signs of trouble, Shayera will swoop down and grab anyone (i.e.: green arrow or batman) who can't fly to get them out of the way if necessary.

*Batman draws something quickly and hurls it at the tentacled monster, while most of its tentacles are still up in the air from bursting through the ground. The bolos he throws will momentarily ensare the creatures' limbs together giving everyone a better chance at escape.*

Hawkgirl grabs Batman while Hawkman gets Green Arrow clear of the monster. Batman manages to snare two of the tentacles. Flash manages to run clear of the monster's path
The beast emits a plume of lava, as the red-suited stranger fires at him with a ray gun. "We need to get it to go underground, I'm going to try and use my rocket pack to kick up some wind!"
Hawkgirl, upon closer inspection you recognize the uniform the stranger is wearing - it's the uniform of the feared Science Lords of Rann. They were ancient enemies of the Thanagarians thousands of years ago. They were star-faring humanoids with access to science far beyond that of even Thanagar, and often opposed the Thangarian way in several historical encounters. They seemed to disappear over 2000 years ago, and are believed to be legends.
Batman, it strikes you as odd that this stranger on this alien world is speaking American-style English.

The Jetpack man lands next to Batman. "CLever deduction - it detects prey by vibration, but it an't handle strong winds - it blinds the creature and forces it back underground." He extends his hand. "Adam Strange. We'll talk after we get that creature underground."

*Batman nods to Adam Strange and shakes his hand* "The assist is appreciated, if sensory overload is what it takes I can use a sonic batarang it should operate much to the same affect as the high winds in driving the Vulcan Mole back below the sands. Green Arrow if you have a sonic arrow, ready it in case the sonic batarang won't be enough. Flash create a whirlwind with your arms, like you managed on Black Hawk Island only directed at the Vulcan Mole, not the ground. Green Lantern, keep Flash off the ground in order to cancel out vibrations on the ground with your power ring, using a platform of some sort to keep him suspended. Be ready though that will tremendous force you'll have to oppose to keep him suspended while generating whirl winds. Dr. Light if you would create a hard light barrier to protect against raining lava. Hawkgirl you and Hawkman should use your Nth metal weapons, strike them against each other and see if the sound can distract the Vulcan Mole long enough for Flash and myself to get to work, and be careful you won't have the luxury of Dr. Light's shielding. Green Arrow, your shot will be more difficult with Flash's wind gusts, if my attack fails, I hope you can manage."

Going to power-stunt to use his Super-Speed to do a gust of wind, using the Alternate Power of Air Control.
Air Control rank 15, has a STR of 75, able to lift 250 tons, or at heavy load 400 tons, or at max load 800 tons.

Shayera looks stunned when she realizes what she is looking at. The uniform the stranger is wearing is the uniform of the feared Science Lords of Rann! 'Can it really be?' she wonders to herself, her eyes narrowing. They were not friends of the Thanagarians and had opposed the Thanagarian way in several historical encounters. 'I thought they were legends!'
Shaking her head, Shayera tries to keep her mind on what is going on as she looks at Carter and, when he is ready, hits her mace against his to see if the sound does distract the Vulcan Mole.

Carter smiles and nods when he sees Shayera's look. He brings his blade to connect with her mace - their Nth metal properties creating a flash and bang of exotic energies. This, combined with Flash's whirlwind and Batman's sonic weapon, force the mole to retreat.
The Red suited stranger lets out a low whistle. "Fancy stuff." He particularly eyes Carter and Shayera. "Judging by the fact that you're speaking English - I'm guessing you're from Earth? Judging by the accents, I'm going to say -" He points to Batman "Gotham." then to Green Arrow "Star City" then to Flash. "Keystone now, but you were raised in Nebraska." He smiles and then looks at Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Dr. Light. "and I don't think I've picked the rest of you out yet. Anyway, welcome to Rann. You're in the Alpha Centauri system, about a dozen light years from Earth."
(GM Note: I'm saying GL is not here as I haven't heard from the player in a while)
