Nightvision (real name: Jens H. Altmann) passed away this Thursday.

He was a friend of mine - despite having never met him in real life and just having talked on the phone with him once. We conversed regularly in other forums and over IMs, and he was intelligent, insightful, and charming. He will be missed.

I'm suspending all the games I'm running (JLU, Marvels, Skraypers, and In the Beginning) until such time as I can figure out what to do with them.

I didn't know him and hadn't played with him at any length, but what a terrible thing to lose a fellow player and for you to lose a friend. Sympathy to you, his friends and especially his family.

I'm saddened by the loss of Nightvision to the world and to his family and friends at large around the world.
I've been trying to think of what to say or convey and been drawing a blank the whole time.
I can only think of the following to mention.
Nightvision showed me that it's alright to be alive and communicationg with friends in all forms.
face to face. over the phone. gaming.
I'm glad that you experienced all three.
I thank his gift for communication via gaming.
