Bellephoebe unfortunatly doesn't meet the requirements to viably dodge ranged attacks, so she doubtlessly gets hit (no bonus, -10 penelty, ouch, ouch, ouch). She does however have invincible armor up with 150 MDC, and it takes half damage from energy attacks, a 70 MDC naruni force field, and two layers of compadible MDC cloth. Hopefully all of that won't be breached if this stuff is really powerful. The invincible armor also prevents splash damage on the attack that brings it down.
If she survives getting peppered with ranged attacks she'll cast "Whirling Blades" again with her penknife and use that to try and parry (only a +2 bonus) to cover herself.

The energy attacks that aren't magical fireballs are deflected off the energy sheilds that Fakir's minions and Bellephoebe are wearing.
Bellephoebe manages to parry one fireball, but three hit her and batter her spells a bit (60 total damage from the three hits).
With the way before them cleared, the nuns and Bunny Girls press Bellephoebe, "Cancel the spells and we'll charge the gap." One nun says.

Aki watches Ora head off to do whatever it is that needs to be done. she simply looks at the Nighthawk and says 'i am not of this world. i have not seen more than you as an example of your kind. but i would know that females have a more cunning mind. i am proud to know you little winged sister'
*she reaches into the carry sack and ruffles Yumi's head and pulls out the small sack of dried meat and offers the bird a small sliver that she chews a couple of times to moisten it a bit. she feeds Yumi another sliver and squats to wait and readies herself for another long run. she is oddly very light on her feet

Ora returns with Duke Etienne, up close, Aki can see the Duke is a young man, not every big or tall - but she has seen him toss aside demons as if they were rag dolls - a master martial artist.
The giant Ora says to him, "Where is your wife? We are looking for her too." The Duke shakes his head. One of the Porters Gigante still holding the breach calls over his shoulder, "Hey beautiful! If you seek our mistress, look in the thick of the fighting, with a pile of beaten enemies all around!" He laughs.
Ora scowls. She puts her fingers to her lips and lets out a long, shrill whistle. Then another. Whether coming to her call, or seeing Aki handing out treats the Blood Hawk descends and alights on Ora's shoulder. "Duke, give me something that belongs to your wife." The Duke looks confused and Ora continues, "Do you not have some token which she gave to you?" He thinks for a moment and pulls out a small bag. Ora takes it and gives it to the Blood Hawk for scent. The hawk takes off. Ora watches it go over the wall, where she can't follow. "Ugh, I'll never track him that way... How can..." Ora scratches her head. "One problem at a time."
"Aki, we must accompany the Duke to the Gate. He needs to meet his wife there. Er, don't touch it - either of you."

Is that 60 damage after being halved by invincible armor or afterwards?
Bellephoebe responds to the Nuns and Bunny girls.
"The Fire Quake will only last a minute, I can cancel that if you want. There is no reason to cancel the pit as I can control where it goes, you won't run into it. Besides when I cancel that one the demons I sucked into it will re-appear where they were, while disoriented they will again be physically blocking our path".
If they want her to stop it early and make a dash, Bellephoebe will cancel the fire quake, and follow them, using the bottomless put to try and intercept any demons that still try and approach over land.

'Duke to gate . . wait . . yes . . ' *she nods and pats the sack to warn Yumi she's about to run again and feels hte mongoose react by bracing itself.
'wing sister . . the gate . . please . . direct us now' *in case she's to short to see it. she is after all under 5'. she will grab the duke's wrist and start tugging him as she follows the bird

The bunny girls sprint oit and engage any demons along the edge of the path Bellephobe and the nuns cleared with their magic.
Most of the attacks are aimed at the Bunny Girls, Bellephoebe, the Healer Queen and the nuns are able to get out of the circle of demons and make their way towards the True Gate. Some of the vanships lend air support. Bellephoebe hears a hawks cry and catches a glimpse of the Blood Hawk searching the area. Any attacks or defenses as they move towards the gate?
Aki is able to lead the Duke to the gate almost without incident. The Duke is fast, and when a demon crosses their path he tosses it through the Crimson Wall of Lictalon like a rag doll. His style is Aikido, taking demons attacks and using their own strength against them. "Are you a knight? Or are you here with Fakir?" Etienne asks casually as they run towards the gate.

'you strong in . . inner power. master strong. Aki not master, but has some power. Aki not night. not day . . is beast speaker girl. not with Fakir. needs stop Fakir being bad, taking things not his. needs find and return them . . . no . . not with Fakir or armor wearing fighters'
*she pauses near the gate and the head moves about as she seeks something out and sees her overly large bird still in battle. she figures that it will soon pass and its spirit will pass on being bold and brave to be reborn once again

"Really?" The Duke asks surprised? "A good friend of mine is a beast master druid on my home world. She can heal animals by touch and she oversees our arbolyte breeding program."
The Duke looks closer at the gate, careful not to touch it. He also looks around to see if he can spot his wife, but doesn't see her.

Bellephoebe has a whirling blades spell and a bottomless pit active. She will use the former to parry, and the bottomless pit to try and intercept any demons that get too close overland. If possible she will try and deflect some of the attacks aimed at the bunny girls.
If Bellephoebe's Invincible Armor goes down, she'll activate her Naruni personal force field (70 MDC) as a stopgap measure, hopefully she won't have that far to go. The invincible armor should be good for a while yet if it's only taken 30 MDC (with the damage halved).

Yumi makes her presence known now as she climbs out and up the back of the shirt to study the Duke and sniffs at the bird circling overhead. Yumi squeaks a couple of times, then clambers back down into the bag to wait. Aki raises the arm for the nighthawk to come down and settle on the arm and shoulder. 'Little sister is . . new. not sure if want stay. is clever sister. smart

Bellephoebe's parries are very effective and she soon arrives near the Gate with the healer and nuns, with Bunny Girls straggling in.
Duke says to Aki, "Hmmm... an Arbolyte is a creature of legend, hard to describe. I'll have to show you one some day, they are bipedal lizards... forest dwelling, nible, smart... very beautiful." Aki can tell he is talking about a treasured animal friend, indeed though Aki doesn't know the name, she witnessed an Arbolyte in the vision of Fakir and his minions fighting the Orc army.

*she knows that her attempts at speaking what the others do hasn't gotten a lot better, but its clear she's trying hard to explain things in her manner

As she arrives at the gate Bellephoebe leans heavily on her staff, obviously fairly stressed and tired, hardly having been ready for this, not that she's a warrior at the best of times "Okay, now we're at the gate. The Demons I've trapped in the hole will be out of comission for a few minutes but will be back where they were originally before too long, which means this siege has been temporarly broken at least. Does anyone have any ideas on how to proceed, or are we waiting to see if the leader of this demonic army is going to be taken down..."

Ora limps over following Hananel, the Duke's wife. Ora is covered in wounds and collapses, but Hananel doesn't have a scratch. While the Healer and the Duchess use their healing powers on Ora, Fakir arrives.
"Excellent! You found them and brought them," he says smiling.
King Talon is not smiling and glances uneasily at the Gate as if it is dangerous. "What is she planning?" He gestures to where Mikalah duels the demon commander, though she is tall the fight resembles a fairy fighting a person- the demon is huge. But Mikalah's sword swings hit it as if Mikalah were many times larger than she appears, as a metamorphed dragon in human form.
Fakir turns to Talon, "We'll push the demon into the Gate while a couple of us lie in wait within the Gate... when the demon gets close those within the Gate will emerge and hit its legs: the old high low."
Talon shakes his head, "No one ever returns from that Gate."
"Nonsense. The Duke and the Duchess can come and go as they like I'm sure.... and you, but only if you can honestly answer this question: Do you still love your wife?"
Talon looks confused, "What?"
"Do. You. Still love your wife? If you don't, then it is the Gate of Eternal Separation - which is all you know of it. But if dedicated lovers or the faithfully married pass through... its fine. The True Gate is a test."
Talon looks at the Healer while she works on Ora.
"Well?" Fakir says.
"Are you sure?" Talon asks.
"Etienne, take your wife through the Gate." Fakir says confidently. Duke Etienne extends his hand to his wife and they step through. They can clearly be seen beyond the Gate, and after a moment they return. "See?"
Ora staggers to her feet, "I'm healed enough. Time for fighting."
The Healer extends her hand to King Talon and he looks at a moment, takes it and they jump through the Gate. Again they can be clearly seen beyond the arch of rock and Fakir smiles and turns to everyone else, "Any other star crossed lovers? If not stay clear of the Gate. It isn't something you can teleport back from. No one has ever gone through alone and returned."
