In the East Saint Louis
Tawfeek tapped the door with a 'Shave and a hair cut' rythm, and waited. After about 20 seconds came the response: ‘two bits’.
“See?” He said to McKenna, as he and Jessica headed to the bridge. “You have an attentive audience.”
And McKenna was left alone in the quiet hallway.
On the East Saint Louis Bridge
With Foreman’s instructions, Tawfeek and Jessica made it to the bridge. “The tenth.” Tawfeek had mumbled, trying to place it. “The tenth… Stephens, wasn’t the guy who tried to duel with me that time at the Belt Weigh some ‘tenth in the line of such and such?’” He paused, trying to put it together. “Something about me standing in the way of his ohnnah and your vuhtyou?”
With a shrug, Tawfeek walked through the already-open bridge door. “Still, we should see about getting close-to-full pressure in that hallway. I’ll shut the doors in that hallway and you check for any kind of air reserves. Or higher-pressure rooms.”
On the Galaxy Bridge
Foreman’s directions were leading them to the bridge, the East Saint Louis proving not to have had significant changes to the floorplan, compared to its class. This was especially so since the crew and pilot module seemed to be little more than a bubble on a cargo pod. (Quite the opposite from the Galaxy, which was more or less half-and-half, like all the smaller longer-range craft.)
The non-comet indicator was flashing.

nervously, McKenna tried to remember her emergency shipboard training and the basic survival skills she had learned, including some archaic form of code named after some guy named Morris [dice=100]
she tried to tap out what she thought was a help call
three long taps, three short, then three long
then she waited for a response[rand=832800018520383988215983891208982393319682027682168531551715548]

After McKenna tapped out the SOS that said she was in need of assisance, the person on the other side when silent. Then, tapped "Shave and a haircut".

Jessica smirks as she nods. "Something like that, yeah." Jessica then starts looking around on the computer for the air reserves or high pressure rooms information Tawfeek had asked for.

Mckenna knew the reply, and smiled inside her helmet. She tapped back 'two bits'. " Better than nothing." She said, before trying to tap the rhythm to the first line of her favorite christmas tune, at the same time singing along to Jingle Bells so she got her taps right.

On the East Saint Louis
Jingle Bells, as a song, had generally seen a reappearance in popular culture. That it was made famous again, after many decades in obscurity, funnily enough had to do with winter itself making a reappearance roughly a decade ago. The song "do the know it's Christmas", sadly, never ceased to plague TV-watchers in it's history.
McKenna received five quick taps, reflecting the second line of the song.
On the Galaxy bridge
"Acknowledged," Tawfeek responded. "Prep for departure, we're bringing on stragglers."
The comet was slowly moving towards them. Right towards them.
On the East Saint Louis bridge
After acknowledging Foreman, Tawfeek turned to Jessica. "Stephens, we're out of time. Seal doors on the way back out. But, before you go, which buttons do I push for the air?"

It should be noted, in the interest of drama, that the ship coming towards them soon identified itself as the Pooh Jihad (yes, that one), a notorious pirate ship (not hard with there being only a few, outside black market thugs). Notoriously armed, too, being the deadliest ship outside the military.
And yes, it was coming right for them.

Foreman begins to check the flight computer and engine status. He toggles the inside comms, "Mensk, we may need full engine power sooner rather than later. Looks like we have a ship headed our way, and we will need to put distance between us and them with a quickness."[/i]

Mensk acknowledged Foreman, and the latter could see ther former's movements by the doors opening and closing. Soon, Foreman could see signs of the engines powering up.

McKenna smiled inside her helmet before getting an idea. She spread her arms as wide as she could and knocked sort of at the same time, trying to give the impression of two different people outside. She hoped they got the idea and got multiple knocks back to give her an idea how many were inside.

Foreman Toggled comms again as he watched the blip getting closer, "Ummm, guys, I don't mean to rush you, but we need to go. The Pooh Jihad is bearing down on us and I would like to be moving before they bring their weapons to bare."
He then toggles comms back to internal comms, "Mensk, what are the chances we can move while still attached to the derelict? Would we be able to move it with us, or would moving just rip the ships apart?"[/i]

Jessica shows Tawfeek which buttons he has to push for the air and moves to quickly download the logs.

On the East Saint Louis
As Jessica arrived where McKenna was communicating, and closed the las door, the air pressure in the hall started to rise.
"You will get 75% air." Tawfeek said on the coms to them. "that's all the ship has left for you. See you all on the Galaxy."
The pair could open the door for the survivors at any time.
On the Galaxy bridge
It sounded like things were finally moving along on the other ship.
"We could," Mensk answered. "But we would be leaving that side of the ship behind with the East Saint Louis. Which I don't recommend. Especially since it jus got repaired."

McKenna looked at Jessica as she arrived," I don't know what a pooh jihad is, but it doesn't sound healthy. " She moved to the door controls, " Ready when you are."
