- General history: December was born out of wedlock to her mother (Cynthia) in Canada. Cynthia avoided telling her father who was in reality a party induced one night stand partly because she did not think she would see him again and partly because he was not a Canadian and that would make for a very messy custody battle. After her first year of marriage, December was 4 at the time; she had the unlucky chance of running into him with his daughter. He came up in hopes of hooking up with her again for another fling but when he saw the girl and a couple of traits he immediately asked about her. Instead of telling him everything she declined to comment and excused herself completely from the conversation. Unfortunately this got him angry and the now unavoidable custody battle ensued.
Because Cynthia was a teacher and because Franks was a well off Lawyer he got the better of the deal. However the judge did see fit to give Cynthia all the school vacation days. This meant all of summer as well as all the school weeks off. Despite this December had a happy childhood, her father insured that she went to good schools, and her mother insured that she spent as much time with her as she could when she had her. She learned little things from both, from her father she learned how to surf, and to a degree was raised like a boy as his only child. From her mother she learned to enjoy life and the Ocean. Life continued on and December finished school and continued on to University where she completed her Marine Biology degree.
It was during her first expedition that this all changed. It was stupid her first study was to be in Antarctica on the penguin and seal declination and to see if the situation improved. She was out on the ice on her way to try to count eggs when the meteor landed beside her. It actually melted all the way through the ice taking her with it, but it also changed her. When she was under the water after panic struck she discovered that breathing was no longer required, and the cold did not bother her anymore. When she found the hole the meteor made she also discovered she was capable of flight. That is when she decided to keep her powers hidden and spend the rest of her free time on the ice learning and mastering what she could do.
She returned to the states to continue her life and maybe find some adventure with her new found powers.
