*looks at her brother and asks bluntly 'you're not carrying any hidden recording devices that you aren't aware of?' *if its meant as a joke or not is unknown to the others. but between them, Heckle's fear of the assassin returning was so strong that he'd demand to see all the current x-rays himself and would be able to explain each 'odd' thing found . . .
*she looks at Rock and moves so she's in the doorway and listening to the kids recount what they saw. she asks once 'so, as a group, how would you have stopped it? think of 3 different ways, as plans always change. never know what your's is gonna be, so think that way. all opinions count. but it's good that you paid attention to details. that is a really good skill to have Rock . . ' *she will point out other 'good points' to the other two kids, but its clear her attention is divided with her brother's safety just now.
*she has yet to ask him bluntly if he's been putting soft hits on her, and if it isn't him, then who would it be?

Fact was he was cramping a little, but wouldn't give in. he knew he might have dozed a bit at one point, but there was enough going on around to distract him when he got tired, and his hold wouldn't release unless he fell into a deep sleep. " Did you know he was going to be here?" then added," Did Dante get in his head and find out what the shooter loked like?"

Tiger stares out at the surrounding parts of the base, her eyes searching the skyline. "No Kris. I had an old contact who had some information. If I had known he was going to be here, I would have told Jeckle. I came to get her as soon as a realized who he was."
She shakes her head, "If Dante has he hasn't uncovered anything worth telling us. Although it could be he won't know anything. Heckle's hands were free of powder burns. Could be they took him by surprise and he never knew what hit him."

Khris dropped his camoflague and crawled up to the roof. his rifle disappeared, and he dropped his sandals to the roof and slipped them on in his first to steps closer to Tiger. He placed his arms around her and looked into her eyes," I din't mean to sound accusing. I know better than that. Sorry."

Akane starts to get suspicious at this SCRET agent who seems to know an awful lot about everything she has brought up. "Well you seem to have all the knowledge good sir and I will most likely be in your way, so I will let you get on with it. If you need any assistance from me I will be contactable." With that she gets up and starts to head away.

Rock is excited at Jeckle's question. "You should have have seen it. I don't think I could stop a train like they did. I'd need to use some kind of tool, maybe a lever... some of those guys just held up a hand and the train would just stop. I can't wait to see tomorrow."

Tiger leans back into Kris' arms and relaxes for a moment. After taking some comfort she says, "Showtime tomorrow. While the politicans watch Division One, the Division Two trials will take place out of sight. We'll get to find out if they are ready." Tiger doesn't sound worried, on the contrary Kris can tell she is already thinking beyond the trials as if the three kids winning was merely a formality.
Tiger stays with Kris for a while, resting before the next step.

*the kids may or may not be aware of hte stress levels held at bay, but the worry shows in her eyes as she studies the hall. 'let Tiger know i need pictures and names of all the actual staff allowed in the room. thanks Lt.' i'll knock out any that come in that don't belong. he can't defend himself now is thought hard briefly then she starts heading back inside
'don't loose your spirit guys. you got the brains, the heart and the skills now. go set them on their ears . . k?' *tries to leave the kids on a high note of encouragement. something she's clueless about and hopes it came out right

Rock smiles at Jeckle's advice, clearly oblivious to her emotions and focused on doing as she says. Peacemaker's supernatural hearing can hear the worry plainly and Jeckle's voice, but she doesn't seem to know what to say and merely looks on sympathetically.
Dancer smiles reassuring at Jeckle. "Tiger said your brother will be able to leave the hospital soon, thanks to Dante and Bel's healing. I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time."
Lt. White nods at Jeckle's request and sends the army guard at the door to fetch the appropriate pictures and clearances. Lt. White takes up the guard's position at the door and sends the kids back the barracks with Marv.
Later Tiger shows up, she looks over the security information the army provided. "All of these personnel were stationed here before the Three Demons showed up. As long as we verify their identities we should be secure.
While Heckle is awake between naps, Tiger gives him a concise five minute briefing regarding recent events and the trials. Heckle seems a bit surprised and confused on certain points, which makes sense.
"You'll be able to walk around tomorrow. We are going to take you with us to the Division Two trials. Security there will be tight, it will be in public, and we'll be surrounded by some of the most powerful metas in the world. In the middle of all that, and given that the trials format is unknown, no sane professional would try to hit you there. The hospital on the other hand will be as empty as its going to get. Many of the staff will be at the trials to oversee any medical issues if necessary. If we leave you here, it would be the ideal time for someone to try to finish the job. We will remove you from the hospital secretly, and leave army guards here instead. If anyone tries anything, we will know about it."
"The doctors say you've made a miraculous recovery, but I want you sitting with us quietly until your memory is in working order. Dante and Bel will continue to evaluate your progress. Now get some rest. We will mostly be watching tomorrow, but I'll need you to be as rested as possible."

Jeckle just snorts once. 'ggod luck trying to slip past her bro. you're over your head there. especially in your condition. you're lucky to be alive, plain and simple. lucky to be alive'
*she reads the information about the staff that should be in the building and then rereads them again a little more carefully as she memorizes their entire content. her photographic memory is good for many things, this is just one of them

The next day everyone arrives to spirit Heckle out of the hospital. Heckle is replaced with a soldier and Tiger brings along a UN special forces uniform for Heckle to wear. The rank reads corporal, and the name on the uniform reads Heckle.
Tiger has uniforms for everyone else as well, though she doesn't seem concerned that people put them on. The three kids all have enlisted ranks as does Roan, there are corporal ranked uniforms for Jeckle, Akane, Bel and Marv. Sergeant ranks for Dante and Kris. Lieutenant for Lt. White. Captain for Tiger.
They load Heckle onto a gurney, cover him with a sheet, and put him in the back of a military ambulance. Tiger deploys Marv, Lt. White and Kris to guard the route and she keeps the three kids, Jeckle and Dante in the ambulance in case of trouble with Roan, Bel and Akane following in reserve.
They arrive at the test site before the dawn and wait for instructions. Tiger relaxes inside the crowded building. The place is crawling with psychics, govt agents and army guards who seem to know everyone by sight.

Jeckle simply hopes the soldier will be okay when they get back. then resumes her 'don't mess with me' towards her brother. she's still troubled by those soft hits. she simply keeps her hand on one of Heckle's arms to keep him still and recovering, then her attention to details seems to seep out and about the ambulance.

Rock starts stretching to prepare for the trials. Marv looks over at him and says, "What if the first challenge is mental Rock?" Rock grins, "Tiger said test scores improve for people who exercise twenty minutes before an exam." Marv shrugs and looks at Dancer. "He's right," she agrees.
"Then you should stretch too," Marv mumbles quietly in case this too proves unsound advice. Dancer and Peacemaker also stretch as they wait for the trials to begin.

Uncomfortable in a uniform (especially the footwear), Khris tried not to show it any more than the overwhelming presence of so many metas clumped together as they entered the test site. He grumbled under his breath as he rubbed his temple, " If my head explodes, I'm not cleaning it up."

Peacemaker raises an eyebrow at Kris' comment, with her headphones off she hears just about everything. But she doesn't say anything.
Looking around, they can see some of the metas they encountered in their recruiting mission. Veil and Lightening are nearby, Veil with the Gates Foundation and Lightening working for Russia.
A UN official eventually arrives to gather the kids for their first test and the halls clear of children and their support teams. The official leads Dancer, Rock and Peacemaker to a room. One wall is a one way mirror so everyone else can watch them. As soon as they enter the room all kinds of sensors get to work on them - the walls, floors and ceiling must be bristling with detection equipment. The trainers can see height, weight, sophisticated audio detection, a few backscatter x-rays. Just standing in the room gives the UN reams of data.
The room itself is white tile, with three chairs shaped like the vertical half of an egg a couple of meters from a low table. On each chair is a test packet and a pencil. Rock starts forward, but Peacemaker stops him and she and Dancer look everything over for a few seconds, then the two of them bound forward to the table, Rock following. They grab a packet and pencil, and sit on the floor at the low table, ignoring the chairs. Rock tries to pull one over, but its bolted to the floor.
Opening the flimsy packet carefully, and cautioning Rock to use a light touch, the girls read them for a moment and then switch packets. "They are the same," Peacemaker says.
Then Dancer calls out the answer to the first question and all three fill in the circle with a pencil, by the time they finish Peacemaker calls out the answer to the next question. Sometimes one of them says "skip." Rock just fills in the circles like he is told while the two girls tackle every other question. Dancer, Peacemaker, Dancer, Peacemaker, Peacemaker, Dancer.
Finally, the time is up they put down their pencils and leave the room.
