Chapter 63 Blood lines (team)

[Dome]

Isamu ignores Ashley's look and spends a moment wondering if this is going to become a discussion later or not.

He says to Patriot, "you did not. I just want to be clear on our stance."

Looking up at Avery, Isamu actually smiles, "I am glad to see you have decided to stay." Then turning to the new face he says, "welcome to the team. I am pleased to have you. Really, all of you, I am pleased that you chose to stay and work with the team, and with me."

"Avery, Tom just was about to explain that we now have an informant in either the Brethen, or on the Mayor's staff," Isamu says looking at Tom expectantly.

Tom explains the incident at Beth's office, the assailant, and the deal he made.

[Dome]

Isamu looks at Sierra as she mentions not wanting to be the strong guy and says, "Sierra, I am not surprised that Ryne has not joined us. He was presented with another opportunity. You however should know that you are more than the strong man as you put it. With your abilities to not only detect other meta humans but also to duplicate their abilities, you are a tremendous asset to this team. Your strength is in your versatility, not just in your muscles. I hope you can see that. Also had it not been for you, we would have never been able to apprehend Cremator and (whatever was the radiation guys name?), not to mention implicating Wraith in aiding and abetting fugitives as well as assaulting federal law enforcement agents which essentially takes him out of official work for the mayor. The team may have helped bring them in, but your work in securing the family and thus (electro dude's) information led us to them. We could not have done it without your help."

Isamu, allowing Sierra time to consider what he just said, then turns to Tom and asks, "Tom, so for now that situation is on hold pending contact from the informant? Correct?"

If Tom answers in the affirmative Isamu then goes on, "with that situation pending, and Wraith for the moment being on the run, or atleast in hiding, we will focus on bringing Trevor in so that we may help him," he says emphasizing the help part and looking at Ashley at the same time to make sure that she is clear on what he said. Then he continues, "I believe helping Trevor will lead us to Wraith. I find it no coincidence that Wraith was attempting to apprehend him. I feel it is all tied together" he says as he eyes Patriot with the corner of his eye for a moment.

He then glances around the room and says, "does anyone have anything they would like to say or add before Ashley tells us everything Trevor told her," he says his voice serious and his tone indicating that it wasn't an option for Ashley to not speak up.

Si looks down as she digests the points he made. she's still the sole 'strong guy', but she'll just hope that she'll have a use for something soon. she will be learning to fly one of hte hover vehicles. at least she'll have a use if she can drive.

*looking up at Kristian, she smiles and nods 'yeah . . he's right. i do have good points

Siobhan gnaws on her lip for a moment, then raises her hand. "I'd kinda like to know a bit more about who this Wraith guy is... the name doesn't ring any bells, which probably isn't surprising..." the newcomer asks, not seeming timid, just a bit overwhelmed.

Isamu says, "Wraith was a government operative at one time. He has proven though that he is no longer concerned with upholding or even obeying the law. He had been involved with some criminal activity some time back and is directly linked with the disappearance of an operative named William."

"He had been attempting to mass produce a drug that would eliminate meta abilities. He was responsible for kidnapping Felicia, Trevor's sister in law. He and William faced each other. Wraith had been found beaten and turned over to SCRET for detention. William was gone and we have not heard from him again. Wraith has since resurfaced and is apparently no longer in custody. Recently we found him to be employed on the mayor's own anti Meta team. The team also employed other known fugitives which we were able to apprehend and bring in and turn over for incarceration. During our arrest attempt Wraith attempted to intervene."

Isamu pauses before going on, "when we went after Wraith's men, they were on their way to look for Trevor. It would not be a big surprise to find out that Wraith is still after Trevor. Since Trevor stepped away for a time to live with Tyler and they were both instrumental in bringing his prior operations down."

Isamu pauses and looks at the other team members that have had experience with Wraith and his men. He asks, "anyone else care to add to that so that Beth and Siobhan both understand what we face as we do this work?"

GM note: Jason and Tyler are brothers, Trevor is just a close friend and ally of the family

ah, thanks for pointing that out. Trying to remember the years worth of back story something slips my mind on occasion. Had to go back to a thread from 2007 to get some info on what happened with William and Wraith. Modified my post.

"Nope, I'm good. Let's get to work." Tom responds.

'only thing they should know is how dangerous the guy is. he grabbed Tyler's girlfriend, who was pregnant, got the baby delivered and into the hands of some french doctor for some reason. then when we got to the point of trackingdown where he had Fel . . or Creepshow as her codename is, he had her on a ferris wheel of sorts and it was moving. she was tied to it and it was moving toward spinning blades.

'i . . chose to protect her by taking the blades to the back, while the others fought. he cackled but got away. he had backup that distracted the others. but, he ghosts thru stuff. only need to hit him with a flashlight to make him solid to hit. i'm sure that his ghosting will hit people and hurt them inside'

*she looks about at the others and hopes she didn't totally freak them out. 'oh . . he still believes that he's a government agent. but he's a municipal level, we're Federal . . hope that helps. oh yeah . . if he comes in range, i call him 'creepy ghost guy'

[Dome]

Isamu nods, "Sierra is correct. Wraith is the embodiment of evil. He cares nothing about anyone and will hurt anyone as long as it furthers his goals. People like him are the reason that organizations like ours exist."

Siobhan doesn't know who most of the people being refered to are (or.. if she does, the player forgets >.>), but she merely nods. "Sounds like this Wraith guy is near the top of our most wanted list then." she murmurs. "Hope we get a shot at him soon enough." the girl adds, then shrugs. "Kinda looking forward to getting into some action myself.."

"It sounds like you have things well in hand, Isamu." Patriot said as he got up. " And yes, you are correct. We have Federal authorization, but we are expected to work with regional levels as much as possible. From the sounds of things, that isn't an option. I'll check in Washington to see if there's anything legally that can be done about your corruption problemss. If DC can put pressure on the city, prehaps it will help. For now I'll check with father, he and MacColter should need something to interrupt their bickering by now." He looked at the others as he started for the door," Good to meet you all, and to have you on the team."

Ashley waited until Patriot was gone before speaking up," Trevor and his friend are holed up at Jason's place. I told them they might have to stay there until monday."

"I'll see if I can dig anything up on Wraith on our end in the morning." Beth said with a yawn. " My reporter credentials will let me dig into things without drawing any suspicion."

"Beth's right Is," Avi said," we need a little downtime."

[Dome]

Isamu nods, "thank you Patriot. We will do our best not to interfere with local law enforcement, however until this mayor is replaced, I do not know how possible that will be."

He extends a hand to Patriot before he leaves, "thank you for your time and your listening ear."

When alone with the team and after everyone speaks he says, "I agree Avery, and I was going to recommend the same once we were all on the same...page," he says emphasizing the last word as he offers a small smile to Ashley in recognition of his earlier mistake. "I really appreciate all the hard work everyone has done in recent weeks."

"Please enjoy your down time, however if you do not have a radio, make sure you do obtain one, especially if you have plans of leaving the house. If there is an emergency I may need to call upon you, or if you have trouble you may need to call upon the rest of the team," he says as he motions a hand towards the door, "the meeting is concluded. Avery may I speak with you for a moment before you step out."

He looks at Ashley and in Japanese says, "my love, give me a moment with Avery and then I want to spend some time with you."

Once everyone clears out except for Avery he says to him, "Avery, I spoke with McCoulter. I know the opportunity you are passing by to stay here. I am glad you are, however I have to ask, are you sure this is what you want? As much as all of us here want you with us, I do not wish to stand in the way of your advancement. In fact I even suggested to MacCoulter he should promote you to the head of this team. I would step aside to have an experienced field agent in charge. Perhaps if we had, we would not have lost December."

Tom wheels out with Beth. "I'm not sure but I think that went well."

Sierra will head out and sigh once before going to get a new radio. she applies it and then heads to the kitchen to grab a few things for a beachside bbq. "K? care to light up the bbq? . . i've got the burgers ready to cook and can put together a few kabobs. otherwise i'll be making a fire on the beach to cook it all in tinfoil . . . '

'anyone else wanna join?' *she glances at the others before grabbing a few veggies and fruits. the graham crackers, marshmallows and a couple of chocolate bars. the 6 pak of coke is in her hand already, along with the tinfoil

Kristian nodded " I saw some roasting sticks in the garage. I'll grab them. Just take a packages of weiners instead of the burgers maybe?" he suggested before heading for the garage.

Hearing Sierra's suggestion, Beth smiled," That sounds like fun." She turned to Tom," Want to go?"

Ashley nodded," I'll be down in the cells."

Avi waited, listening to Isamu," Is, I'm a sergeant, not an officer. I tried the leader thing when I was still in the corp, and it didn't agree with me. I'm a doer, not a sit back and tell people what to do. You need someone to run a side mission or something, I'll do it, but otherwise I've got your back, and Alice's. Mac knew I'd turn down the offer anyways, thats why they offered close to my family to try to bribe me."
