" He told me to "piss off Yank" and drove off when I said I needed him to wait for you because you knew where we are going." Jason said, flustered. " What kind of antisocials they have driving cabs here?"

Alice just looks confused as she answers, "I don't know why he would have said that unless I know exactly what you said. Sometimes sayings that are slang in the US can actually be insulting here in the UK."

Jason did his best to hide a hint of annoyance," You don't beleive me? He asked 'where to' and I said ' I don't know, I have to wait for my fiance to come out, she knows where we're going" and he said ' piss off. That's it." He was more than a little confused.

Alice sighs quietly, "Of course I believe you. I just thought there could have been an honest misunderstanding." Shrugging, she adds, "I don't know why he said that. You might have found the one jerk cab driver." Alice then looks around for another cab.

Alice spotted another cab coming as Jason got a copy of The Daily Telegraph from a vending machine. As the cab stopped, Alice could see a story on the paper's front page Serial Cab Bomber beleived to be an American, according to Scotland Yard
The cabbie looked hard at Jason as he asked, "Where to?"

Alice blinks in surprise when she sees the headline and subtly nudges Jason and thinks to herself, 'Maybe that's why' Smiling politely at the cab driver, Alice gives them her parents address and sits back, holding Jason's hand quietly.

At the nudge, Jason flipped over the paper, saw the article and his eyes went wide in understanding. After the short drive Alice recognized so well, they turned onto her street and then stopped in front of her home. Jason held the door for her, then got their bags from the trunk. As Alice was paying, Jason smirked at the cabbie, " No worries, I didn't leave anything in the trunk."
The cabbie was clearly not impressed as he gave Alice her change as sped away, causing Jason to chuckle. before she could scold him, Alice heard..
"Allie? You're home? Shouldn't you be in school?" Alice's grandmother stood in the doorway of the house, staring at the two arrivals.

Alice smiles at her grandmother and goes to give her a hug. "Surprise!" Alice draws back and says, "I'm on break, Grams, and I wanted to come visit." Her smile turns a bit shy as she adds, gesturing toward Jason, "And I wanted everyone to meet my fiance, Jason Dexter. Jason, this is my grandmother, Alexandra Weatherby."

"Fiance?" Alexandra took Alice's hand and looked at the ring. " Where did this come from?"
"nice to meet you , ma'am." Jason said politely," Alice has said alot of nice things about you."
" Oh really?" She gave Alice a questioning look as she held the door open.

Alice smiles as her grandmother looks at the ring. "We met in Miami and just seemed to hit it off right away." Alice turns and smile at Jason and then back at her grandmother. "Of course! You are my favourite grams after all."
Alice's smile fades a bit and she knows if she doesn't say this before her parents show up, she might not get the nerve to say anything as she says in a casual tone of voice, "I also met an old friend of yours in Miami - William Black." Alice watches her grandmother closely for signs of a reaction to this. (perception: [dice=20] )[rand=732779763614811445323778818207588584368951164168610800978255395]

Alexandra's eyes widened in suprise. " William? Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. What pray tell were you doing you ran into him? Surely he isn't at your school."
"no, we all worked together before he moved on." Jason replied, then looked sheepish as he realized he should have kept his mouth shut.
"Alice?" Her grandmother's tone rose with a distinctive tone that alice knew well to be one of distaste for something done," prehaps you and I need to have a talk before your parents get back from their walk. In private." Her eyes shifted to Jason.

Alice winces a little at her grandmother's tone but then nods and says, "We should talk, I agree. Though I would like Jason there as well." Her voice is gentle as she continues, "He knows everything about me, and he'll only find out later when I tell him what we talked about."

Her grandmother scowled at first, then sighed and beckoned the two to follow her in.
Jason shrugged, then grabed their bags. He spoke lowly to Alice, " This isn't staring out like I had hoped."

Alice looks over at Jason and smiles weakly as she says lowly, "I'm sorry. It's just something I need to talk to her about before my parents get home." She then follows her grandmother into the house.
