Jason chuckled. " Hey, it's already better than meeting my family. How much of a conversation can you get out of lab components?"
After a little bit, Jason mentioned the word 'darts' in front of Alice's father and the two were gone within moment. Her mother and grandmother claimed the den, though the tv was turned low. Before she entered, she could hear her mother and grandmother talking
"... a nice boy. why can't you leave it at that?"
"Jan, my dear, you think that of Evan too. I don't begrudge Alice for finding someone, I just think he's not telling us everything."
"mother, you begrudge everyone everything."
"I'm 89 years old. It's my right to do so. " Alexandra answered , then let the conversation drop as Alice entered. She smiled and looked at her granddaughter," So are you going to tell us how you metand what else has happened in America?"

Alice smiles as she replies, "We met through my friend Jane. Jason knew her boyfriend Dmitri." Alice smirks a bit as she continues, "Jane swears she didn't try to set us up, but I still think she did." Shrugging at the second question, Alice says, "Not much to talk about. School is going well, but you know that already from the emails I send you. I've made some friends, especially Jane. Jason has a brother named Tyler and his fiance Felicia had a baby girl not too long ago named Maria." Alice smiles, "She is very cute."

Two hours went by before they heard the door open. Jason was helping Evan in the house, and both of them were roughed up a bit from the looks of things

Alice frowns with concern "What happened?" she asks.

Jason looked at Alice with a scowl," Your dad likes to shoot his mouth off when he's had a few. We were having a couple glasses of that fermented molasses stuff he calls beer and throwing darts, the next thing I know he's shooting his mouth off to some gorilla he says you grew up with named Nicholson about me being his new yankee son-in-law. This Nichonson apparently took offense, and so did his friends." He sat down with a bit of a groan.
"Oh Evan, you silly twit. Let's get you cleaned up. You're lucky you aren't in the clinic."
Evan shook his head, taking an icepack from Jan," No, that would be the other five guys. Alice, this boy of yours is good in a scrap." He gave a thumbs up before Alice's mother took him to the washroom to clean up.
Jason returned the thumbs up before grimacing despite the blood from a split eyebrow and looked at the floor," Sorry" he muttered.

Alice looks concerned as she gets the first aid kit from the kitchen and puts a bandage on Jason's cut eyebrow. "Well, it seems my dad likes you now." she says with a smirk.

" I didn't mean for this to... ow." Jason grimaced as Alice touched his brow. " I didn't want it to happen like this. I could have taken the three of them for the fun of it, but then everyone would have known what I am. I didn't think that would do anyone any good." He rubbed the back of his head and his fingers came away bloodied. " Crap, I think there's a peice of glass stuck in that." He winced as he touched it again.
Alexandra took a seat at the other end of the table, smirking, I doubt anyone would understand what you are, son." she said. " Or what you're capable of."
Jason looked Alice in the eyes as he answered her grandmother," Look grandma, Alice and I love each other whether you approve or now. So just go ahead and poke around in my head and be done with it, okay? I thought you of all people would understand."
"Sadly, I do. Or I at least want to." Alexandra said before staring intently at Jason.

Alice looks worried as she examines the cut on Jason's head to see if there is glass (first aid: [dice=100], pass). Seeing Jason and her grandmother staring at each other, Alice feels uncomfortable but doesn't say anything since she knew that Jason was ok with her grandmother reading his thoughts.[rand=472067957917082232581466801504455174510978978189462233771881747475]

Looking close, Alice found a shard sticking out and easily fished it free, though Jason flinched with a quick breath. "Who needs Avi around to patch things up?" He smirked as he looked up at Alice before drawing her in close enough for a thank you kiss.
"Stop daydreaming about getting in my granddaughter's panties." Alexandra said with a distracted tone.
Jason looked up at Alice as his mischevious smirk crept on his face. It was followed by a disgusted scoff from the other end of the table as Alexandra got up from the table," Filthy minded little beggar is what you are." She grumbled before letting herself out the back door.
Jason burst into laughter," Sorry."

Alice returns the kiss and blushes at her grandmother's words and moves to put a bandage on the wound on Jason's head. When her grandmother storms out of the room, Alice can't help but laugh, even though she is still blushing and hugs Jason. "I reckon that'll stop her from looking in your mind." she says with a smirk.

"I hope so. The fact that it seems so easy for anyone to get into my head kind of freaks me out. There's stuff in there no one should see." Jason managed, even though he was laughing too.
Jan came into the kitchen to get an icepack from the frezer, and looked at the couple curiously," What are you two up to? Oh, your father wants to know if the two of you are stay at your grandmothers or in your room?" She winked, then headed back into the living room.
After she left, Jason asked," Which house has thicker walls?" He grinned.

Alice snickers and shrugs "It's about the same." she says with a mischievous grin. Hugging him, she says in a slightly more serious tone "I'm ok with staying at either place. Do you have a preference?"

"It's your country." Jason replied. "I don't care if you pick us an alley behind Heathrow." He laughed, "Not like there's alot of travel time between places."

Alice nods and says, "We might as well stay at Grams then since that's where our luggage is and we seem to have straightened things out with her."

Jason nodded in agreement.
That evening at her parents was much more relaxed, and it was clear alice's parents were warming up to Jason, though the Daddy's little girl philosophy could be heard when he talked, though he did try to embarrass Alice a bit with childhood stories.
When they managed to wake the next morning after an "eventful night" including another of Jason's nightmare fits she had to wake him from to settle him, she woke to the house smelling of one of Alice's favorite childhood memories. Breakfast at grandmothers. Jason was still snoring slightly.
