8. Mars

Miner Joe was looking at the conveyor belt. "Yeah, but no mining 'bot I ever met takes prisoners. Or looks like some insect."

"That's because Martian 3 mine bots are speacilized to dig ice for the Terraforming units." Said a man's voice, coming down the coveyor belt's tunnel. He was carrying a heat gun.

"Ahhh, that explains it." Miner Joe said. "But that still doesn't explain the hostages."

"We have a few remotely controlled." The man said.

"Yep." Miner Joe, nodding. "That'ld do it."

"Now, if you'll all be so kind as to line up so we can melt you into the glacier as well." He said. THe heat gun was imposing. Especially since a second had appeared. It looked like they weren't expecting a fight, but easy compliance, like the rest of their prisoners.

[Dome]

"Oh well since that explains it, I do want to know though why? I mean what the hell was the point in capturing them," Flip says.

[Mierin]

Jessica glares around the room. This had been a horrible trip and she wanted to get back to the ship ASAP. She didn't particularly care about their motives like Flip, Jessica just didn't want to be melted into the glacier. "Who the hell cares?" she growls at Flip, crossing her arms under her chest showing she wasn't going to be easily intimidated.

Jessica's respond sort of suprised McKenna. She was already backing up towards the glacier, her arm held up, and hoping the threat was just to get them to give up quickly.

One of the two men (it should be noted, for later, that neither is wearing a protective suit, though seem well dress against the cold) pointed their heat gun at Jessica. "That's right, miss. We don't care whether or not you know what's going on. As we care is that you're in the way. No hustle, or burn." He closed his distance to Jessica, and armed the gun. It looked something like a heavy flamethrower, with a nozzle wider than Jessica's suited arm twice over. Clearly intimidating, and capable of spraying damage.

The other man shifted position, re-aiming at Miner Joe, who had tried to sneak around. "Hold up, there. No funny business."

Miner Joe then pasued, realizing he was under the same threat as Jessica.

So, right now, they're focused on Miner Joe and Jessica. Things 1 and 2 were with McKenna, leaving Foreman and Mensk close to Jessica.

Mensk (GMed) looked at the guns. "Considernig the wide bore, they can't be that good as weapons." he whispered to Foreman and Jessica.

"Come on, now." Miner Joe said, buying a couple more seconds to get close to the second guy. He clearly had something in mind. "You don't seriously want us dead, do you?"

[Dome]

Flip looks around for anything he can get to and throw at the two attackers. He realizes that they have been working on soft sand this entire time. He moves as if he is going to stand by the glacier, and then purposefully trips and drops to his knees, "man I just can't get used to this gravity, I guess that doesn't matter anymore," he says as he grabs two handfuls of the soft martian sand. He knows that if they were wearing survival masks it wouldn't blind them, so this may do more than distract them. Standing up he throws both towards the attackers and then follows right behind them diving with a tackle at the guy closest to him.

OOC: They are not wearing protective suits, meaning the air is breatable (so they don't need masks), or they are Martians (so, they don't need masks). When I said they were dressed against the cold, I mean they were wearing parkas and maybe a scarf or toque.

Given the size of the flame thrower pointed at her, Jessica doesn't make any sudden movements. However, when Foreman makes his move, Jessica will attempt to doge just in case his actions cause the flame thrower to be activated anywhere in her direction. McKenna gasped when she saw Flip make his move, then knew she had to help and lashed out at the other with a roundhouse kick. [dice=20]

So, as the map shows, things start off like this:
Jessica and Foreman are with M1 (the first villain to show up).
Miner Joe and Mensk are with M2 (the second villain)
I realize "V"s would have been more appropriate, but, meh. I had enough fun boucing between McKenna, MJ and Miner Joe.
In any event, the convery belt is there, too. It's a lowish belt, so a person can cross it relatively easily.
McKenna (MJ), and Things 1 and 2 are on the same side of the conveyer as Foreman and Jessica. Though, they are further back since they were already backing away from the heat guns.


Now, for actions!
Foreman hurls Martian sand into M1's eyes. He, of course, hits his target (sand-throwing in a fight is a military skill, it seems), blinding him momentarily. Unpleasant words about Foreman's mother were uttered. I won't repeat them, but man, oh man.
The tackle was even more successful, getting M1 on the ground. The heat gun fell out of his grip as he landed. Foreman was that upset when he hit M1.
Foreman and M1 are now fisticuffing on the ground.
Jessica never dodged, since the shot never came.


A Foreman takes on M1, Miner Joe (not MJ) starts his own takedown of M2, using Foreman's attacke as a distraction.
It didn't work, because M2 was on the ball, and successfully defended.
In a counter attack, M2 swing at Miner Joe, connecting, and wobblizing him (the spacesuit took the brunt of the hit).
Though, Miner Joe took a chance and was able to at least get the heat gun off of M2.

By this time, McKenna had finally managed to close the gap between herself and M2 using Mars's lower gravity and manages to connect with her roundhouse, making M2 most uncomfortable.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 kind of gave the others space, while Mensk was getting the heat gun from Miner Joe to free up his hands.
