"Oh, well, we do have beginner harnesses." Says the clerk. "For sure, you have to start somewhere, right?É And she leads Sara past some beast-of-burden style harness, and some that look like muzzles, and a few look like they could handle the demon in question. "Here we go." She says, pointing to harnesses and gear with more nylon than leather, and snaps and such designed to help new people get acquainted with the gear. "Usually we only recommend that you use these only for a little while. Personally, I don't like the idea at all. I was raised on buckles and straps, and it helps you to better unstand the animal that way. These, you just snap on... no communication. Well, there I go. If you want anything else, just come find me, OK?"

"You want me to use magic, which takes concentration, while speeding, on a crowded public street and someone's chasing us?" Eleutheroi asks. "And here I thought you were the timid one." He rolls down Coop's window. "If you have any tricks, now's the time."

" Me? I don't know any tricks." Coop protested at first. " If you can't do both, then let me drive. Of course I'm used to old beaters on back roads, not city streets. If the crowds are a problem, then get us off the main streets." He suggested. He pointed, " Like that parking garage down the block. No bystanders and hopefully no cameras."

Sarah nods at the clerk "Ok, thank you." After the clerk leaves, she stands in front of the display, wondering what she should do next and how she'd be able to find out who has recently purchased a harness.

"Too small." Eleutheroi says, lurching to the side. "Besides, you just called for a rendesvous." The car keeps up with them and seems to be closing, and some kind of device has leaned out the window, pointing at the car.

Well, the harnesses do seem very interesting, though, clearly, the harness production methodologies have changed little in their basic principals for generations. A quiet, male voice behind her says "Do not be alarmed, Decree Slayer." It almost had the military intensity Eleutheroi has, but it didn't have accents the Fayde guard carry.

" Too small? What do you need, a stadium?" Coop replied, obviously getting nervous. Secretly he wished that he'd disobeys Tobrias and had picked up some real spells from the texts he'd read. He squinted as he looked back and saw something poked out the window. " Uh El? what the heck is that thing they've got?"

Sarah smirks a little as she glances behind her. "Haven't you seen the news?" she asks quietly. "They've unmasked the slayer. A tall blond haired guy. Goes by the name of Zach something."

"Hopefully just a camera," Eleutheroi says. As he does, he turns a curve towards a residential street. As he does a garbage truck pulls out into the street, and wheels are heard to screech. "Came up with that one a few months ago when Tobrias wanted to give them someone to pay attention to." Eleutheroi says, slowing back to a normal speed. After a few moments, they arrive at the guild.

The human behind her looks like pure military, but does not say anything to contradict what she's just said. Instead, a calm smile appears. "May I have a word?"

The military man nodded. "Of course." Lowering his voice, he hands her a card. "Col. Ahfez Holia, Golthreia Armed Forces." Raising his voice to normal. "Now, as you know, military business in the city is a rare thing when quiet, so you must understand that I have limited time. Please." He waves her towards the back of the store.
(Coop)
"Most likely media." Eleutheroi says, as the car drives towards the South Tower and the Guild. "To be honest, you make a very good story. Any biographer on Shards will want your story. A few hacks will have made something up in a few weeks."
After a few more minutes of quiet driving, the pair arrive at the tower. Entering the Guild, Tobrias is waiting for them. "I hear you have been to see Zéké?"

Sarah nods quietly in acknowledgement of Holia's words, and moves to the back of the store and waits for him to join her. Once he has, she asks quietly, "So, what can I do for you?"

"I'm afraid that that decision was out of your hands a very long time ago." Eleutheroi says. "Before even that one reporter..."
At the Guild, Tobrias nods. "Well, we started in the right place. We will direct the police towards the purchasers of the marble." He glances to Eleutheroi, then Coop. "No word from miss Lockheart, then?"
(Sarah)
Col. Holia looks around to make sure they aren't bothered. "I have a concern." He says. "The brass seem to be experimenting with... undesirable allies." He explains in a very low voice. "As the officer in charge of external supernatural concerns, it is an archaic duty, but mine, none-the-less, to report to the royal guard of concerns, anonymously, that the military is planning something not to the benefit of the city."

Coop shook his head. " Not yet. She went to check on harnesses at some shop in the mall while I came back to do some digging in the library on the people that own the building the marble went to since it's the same place we had the vision of at the movie theatre."
Coop hadn't shown any concern until Tobrias asked, and then it washed over his face. He tried to hide it as he explained," I thought that if I came back here, it would draw anyone watching away from her long enough for her to slip out unnoticed. Was I wrong?"
