Once the demon was in the Fayde's custody, Coop stepped out of Moltavious' way. " No, but I trust it to him." he replied, motioning towards Tobrias. " We'll find her. There has to be some way to find her if he's not willing to talk. Isn't there some kind of spell to read his mind, or ..., what did gramps used to call it? Scrye where someone is?" Coop asked, not sure if he was using the right term or not. He did his best to be helpful to hide the growing worry gnawing in his stomach at the thought of something happening to Sarah.

"We will set to it." Says Tobrias. "It is our civic duty."
After the guards had ushered away the demon and Moltavious to the Guild (Moltavious was very clearly bound and under control, as the Fayde didn't seem to trust him), Coop, with Rozatonosky gave a report to the Sargeant, then evaded the press who had gathered. Rozatonsky did the on-scene press statement about receiving a last-minute tip, and so on, but will no comment on who was arrested. No-one seemed to know the military had been involved.
At the guild, a military colonel was waiting. Moltavious looked sedated and morose. The half-dead Cro was being taken to a detention room. No-one paid attention to the colonel as Coop was ushered to a meeting room. The Colonel didn't seem to mind.
In the room, the door was closed, and windows were drawn, and the Fayde took quite a few measures to ensure they were not being overheard. "Report, please." Said Tobrias after the anti-bug dance was finished.
One of the guards picked up a projector device. Though it, they heard the last few minutes of the raid, with instructions, Moltavious identifying the Cro and the team moving in. Then, some kind of gas grenades went off and after that a blue flash jumped out towards Sarah. Three guards tried to jump in front, but the bolt evaded them, hitting her, and then vapourizing her.
After that, there was a surge of magical energy, and Moltavious shot after the Cro, to likes of which had Tobrias wincing, and Eleutheroi rivetted. "Sorceror's Fury." Said Eleutheroi, watching. "Not a spell for the calm at heart." After that, the pair of magic combattants diseappeared amidst explosions and terrified humans.
The guard put down the projector. "All the other men present, police or otherwise, will report the same event." Said the guard. "The Decree Slayer Sarah Lockheart is dead or missing, Tobrias." He says, calmly. His tone was very even, and did not sound phased by it. "The spell that hit her was very rare and will take higher-level analysis to confirm its nature and origin."
"Thank-you." Tobrias said, sounding like was addressing his boss. "Please undertake that research. She is important to the city's defense. The Cro is as your disposal. Moltavious' reaction is a Golthreia issue."
"An understandable one." With that, he and the other guards left the room.
Tobrias turns to Coop and Eleutheroi. "Well. One matter is resolved, but has left another in its wake."

Coop was devastated at the thought of losing Sarah. He slumped in his chair. " She can't be dead. She can't be..." He did his best to keep his emotions in, but he could still feel the tears starting to well up as he snuffed. At the same time, his fist clenched tight enough that his knuckles were turning white.

Beside Coop, Eleutheroi had gone eerily quiet as well. He certainly didn't appear calm. Soon he growled in a language Coop had never heard before, spits of energy jumping from his mouth has he did. Coop understood it all very clearly, though. Effectively, it translated to: "We don't need the Cro. We can find her ourself."
Looking at Tobrias, he said, in English "This has gotten far too out of hand. You bring in our mighty Raven just for one raid and it still costs us a Slayer. It's not like there's a lot of those left anymore. And you just know this will get out to the demons."
TObrias raised his hand. "I will do my best to shore up the difference." He said. "We cannot risk Mr. Cooper's involvement in the field at this time. I am sorry, Zachary, but you are not trained to full-on hunting. We will resume what we had done before Sarah was ready."
He paused. "In the meantime, Mr. Cooper, you have a bloodline to figure out. If what the city said was true, then you have far more responsibility than being the tag-along you have gotten used to wanting to be." Tobrias thought for a moment, and looked like he hoped he had gotten his point through.

" Shouldn't we be out looking for her?" Coop said, suddenly wondering if Moltavious had the right idea when he wanted to beat an answer out of the Cro. " I want to find out what the truth is about my history, but I'm not giving up on her. Not until someone shows me her body. She's the only family I've got left, " he swallowed hard to keep his emotions in check, " I'll be in the library studying if anyone's looking for me."
He got up and to walked out with newfound focus. He had no intentions of researching his family tree yet, but was sure he could find something in the library about a spell called sorceror's fury.

Outside, as the door opened, and Tobrias was about to interject, the Colonel stood up. Putting his hand out to Coops as a greeting, he says "I am Holia. I wish to spek to miss Lockheart, if I may."

Caught off guard, Coop shook the Colonel's hand, doing his best to bury his emotions," Sorry, she's not available right now. Tobrias should be able to help you as soon as he's free. If you'll excuse me, I have some matters to attend to." He slipped past Holia to continue on to the library.

Holia seemed quite suprised that Coop would brush him off so quickly. "My apologies, but there appears to be no-one else here." Holia said. Indeed, the place was very quiet. "And the display at the hotel will not be kept quiet for long. Nor will the involvement of some people of high stature of the community. If you are the representative they have sent in her place, then I would like to know what you know to prepare for my own role in this."

" Huh? Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, sir." Coop apologized, obviously not thinking before acting. " Just something...," he cleared his throat," I'm not sure I'm the one you want, but I'm Zach Cooper, maybe I can help you in Sara's absence. Maybe you had better step inside and we'll discuss it."
Coop opened the door back up to Tobrias' office. " Tobrias? El? Colonel Holia needs to talk to us."

Tobrias turned from talking with Eleutheroi. The Elf stood behind Tobrias body-guard fashion in an instant. "Yes, Colonel Holia." says Tobrias. "We must thank you for the information. Events would have turned out much worse if not for your warning. Unfortunately, Miss Lockheart is indisposed at the moment. Though, Mr. Cooper, as you must know from the press conferences, is her second in command. He is not yet up to speed in all matters, being new to his post. But the Guild and the City have full faith in him."
Holia turned to Coop, re-assessing him. "Of course, then the military as well." The soldier closed the four of them into the office. "This is still a delicate situation. Several innocent soldiers and police were killed, or injured, as I understand it. The military would be greatly weakened if this is leaked innapropriately. We have no-one, currently, able to handle the situation publically."
Turning to Tobrias, Holia paused, as if worried about what he wanted to advocate. "We may need to let some of the brass go, quietly, to allow a formal changeover."
Eleutheroi didn't move, but something around him sounded like tensing leather movements.

Coop stayed quiet, wondering if Tobrias was serious about the Guild having faith in him. He folded his arms as he listened to the discussion and tried to decide whether to get involved in the conversation. The sound from El drew his attention and he spoke, " Colonel, maybe you should elaborate a bit. Like Tobrias said, I'm not up to par on everything."

"The generals involved have been in charge of the military for some time. None of the Colonels, myself included, have the capacity to run the whole organization smoothly. Golthreia will be vulnerable. Doubly so if this weaknes became visible." Holia explained. "However, if the more... coerceable of the men involved were to formally withdraw and retire, while the organizers were discharged and tried, it would allow the military to quietly hand over power and ensure the new wave of leaders will be probably trained for their positions."
Tobrias, who was still sitting at his desk tented his fingers. When Holia was finished, the GuildMaster's eyes swung from Holia to Coop, wordlessly asking Coop for his opinion.

" But isn't what you're comtemplating treason? " Coop asked, concerned. " I agree with the concept, but if they figured out what you were up to and got caught, then they've got you by the short and curlies. And we're not talking prison time, they still execute you for that, don't they?" He looked at the others for confirmation. " I might be upset about what happened, but I'm not suicidal."

Holia looks at Coop. "There is more at play then the rule of law. Technically, you're an accomplice to attempted murder. Probably many counts if you consider demon ethics." He says, calmly. "The protection of the city is paramount, even if it means walking a few grey areas. These men will suffer the greatest indignity they will face, whether tried or not."
Tobrias sits quietly. Eleutheroi stands quietly.

Coop looked at Tobrias and El, waiting for one of them to interject, but the two of them almost seemed content letting him handle the meeting. " I never looked at it that way I guess. So do you have a plan as to how we convince the generals that it's time to step aside and hand down the reins? You must know what skeletons they keep in their closents we can use."
