*Jeckle's words to Tiger as the others head out once again. and as instructed she has them taking turns and does a few measurements and doesn't seem to write anything down. she only makes a comment about 'try doing ... interesting, thanks'
*at the 30 minute mark she motions a turn over and makes her measurements and the same comment from the other at the same time.
'k .. go do the meditating thing now .. i got work to finish now .. ' *she resumes her work on the item she started on before .. and continues afte rloosing an hour. its clear that Jeckle is the 'tool maker' of the group and is kinda short with people at times when her mind is occupied.

Akane is ready to go, and stays in her regular clothes seeing no reason to dress up for the event at all. Or at least has not been asked to.

Dante packs a duffel bag before heading out with Bel. He carefully packs his tux and dress shoes knowing full well that they would not be looking for anyone except for someone to marry them. He smiles at Bel as he heads out to join her, "are you ready to go?"

About the time Tiger pulls the Mercedes into a hotel parking lot, Dante and Bel are able to find a justice of the peace who can marry them in a public park. The beaches are too far away.
Tiger, Kris and Akane find make their way to the hotel conference room and are met there by the shadowy person known as Shade. The sun is about to set and Shade is wearing sunglasses. When they first enter the room he seems melded with the shadows, but they know he is in there from Kris' senses. After Veil and some of the megas encountered earlier, Shade seems a more ordinary meta - but Kris knows better than anyone that an 'ordinary' meta like himself can be a very dangerous person.
Tiger introduces herself and asks shade if she might ask him a few questions...
He does well on the intelligence test and Tiger is reasonably pleased. She tosses him a quarter to test his reflexes and then gets down to business. Shade looks to be a teenager, but there is something of the street in him and he listens to her offer shrewdly.
"Three million." He counters.

When they walk up to justice of the peace, and before he starts the ceremony Dante says, "Bel are you sure you want to do it this way?"

Bel looks at Dante and asks, "What do you mean?" She seems a bit confused, not sure if she understands what Dante is asking.

"I just want to make sure your ok with this ceremony being so private and small. I don't want to rush into something and later you say you wish you could have shared it with others."
He pauses looking at her and then saying, "I love you Bel, and I only want what makes you happy. I just want to be sure this is what you want."

Bel thinks about this for a moment. "This feels strange because no one else knows. I know I asked you to keep it a secret, but I can't help but feel our friends will be hurt to find out later." She sighs. "I would love to marry you today. Maybe I would regret it a little if this was or ceremony. Will you forgive me if I ask you to wait? We could talk it over with Tiger when we get back to Omega Shield and catch a flight to Vegas? We only need one more candidate before we head back to Nevada." She looks at Dante, feeling torn. She wants to marry him, but she has clearly changed her mind about keeping it a secret and wishes there were other people present.

Dante smiles at her, no dissapointment at all on his face. "I think thats fine Bel. I told you I want to make you happy, today, tomorrow and everyday for the rest of our lives," he says as he touches the side of her face and leans in and kisses her.
"It will be nice to have everyone there. We've been through alot together. We're like a big dysfunctional family. Can't leave them out," he says with a smile as he hugs her. He looks at the JOP and says, "sorry sir. Thank you for being available, but we're going to wait for our friends to join us."

Jeckle seems to be pre-occupied by the work she's doing .. then she looks at them 'don't panic .. i need a bit of help and a friend is going to appear out of nowhere .. just don't get too close to him. its a little cramped in here ... '
*that said she moves to a more open space and takes the ring out of hiding .. and slips it on. she brings the ring close to her mouth and whispers a name .. and the flying unicorn beast appears and looks about. 'hey buddy .. i need your help with this .. i can't figure it out ... '
*she settles on a box and with the animal's head over the shoulder she studies it again .. and points and murmers from time to time. then after about 20 minutes 'sorry buddy .. gotta send you away for now .. thanks for hte help

Dancer and Peacemaker's mouths hang open at the winged unicorn. They are speechless.

Bel returns Dante's kiss and the justice of the peace merely sighs and nods.

Tiger frowns, "What is the difference between a million with a bonus and three million?"
The kid blinks, "The other guys...."
"Yeah, yeah," Tiger waves her hand. "The other guys said three million. Ok. So what powers do you have that are worth three million dollars?"
Shade blinks and says, "I'm one with the darkness. I can create darkness."
"You'll be a pilot. Can you make a vehicle 'one with the darkness'?"
"Umm."
"I did not think so. I already have two candidates whose powers work perfectly as pilots. Yours don't. I don't see why you should get three times their pay." Tiger explains patiently.
"Then maybe I should take the other offer...."
"Is that all this is to you? A contract negotiation? Doesn't anyone do anything because its right anymore?" Tiger throws up her hands in frustration. Maybe this street smart kid might break the budget, but Kris and Akane might start to get the sense that Tiger views the rate of pay as another sort of test. One which Shade is failing.

Khris had stayed silent up to this point. " Hiding in the shadows is a good trick, but thats all it is. I know, I can do it too. you have to come up with something else to justify a figure like that." He said flatly. "And the difference between us and them is to them, you're just cannon fodder."

As they step out of the building, Dante takes Bel's hand. He stops and looks into her eyes, "so your sure you want to tell everyone?"

"Yes," Bel says, her eyes shining. "Lets tell them after we find the third candidate and get back to Omega Shield. It is after all where we met!"
She leans close against Dante as they walk, her curves brushing up against him.
