Still upset at Coop's comment, Sarah says very little as they head over to the Guild. Sarah nods at Tobrias and replies "It is. We ran into a vamp who came very close to turning a girl. Luckily, she's heading out of town so hopefully she'll be able to avoid being bitten for a third time." Handing over the jacket to Tobrias, she adds "He, Gus the vampire, told me that 'The master gives his compliments'. He also knew exactly who I was and I'm guessing so did his Master, which worries me a little."

Tobrias takes the jacket. "We'll look into it." He says, in his usual uninformative-knows-more-than-he's-saying fashion. Interestingly, he usually has Eleutheroi do the dirty work when he doesn't want Sarah involved. THis time, he didn't mention Eleutheroi
"How is the investigation progressing with the comedy school?" He asks, as he leads the pair into his office.

Coop sat back, annoyed at himself for what he had said at the mall. " We hit a wall. Found one guy that might give up some info, but there's a bunch called the protoges that are trouble. And they was a mention of a ritual."

Tobrias nods, as he closes the door to the office. "I'm not surprised, magic energy is still relatively scarce. It's probably meditative. I doubt they want to leave chicken guts where anyone can see them. Do you know when and where they plan to strike?"

Sarah shakes her head at Tobrias as she replies "We don't know for certain, but there's a fete coming up, and I think that's when they're going to strike. Coop and I got jobs as waiters at the fete so we'll be able to watch over what happens and we can go behind the scenes to see what's going on."
Sarah pauses as she changes topics "I'd like to know what you're planning on doing in checking in on this vamp's claim. Since it has to do with my safety and Coop's safety, I feel I have a right to be involved in the investigation"

Tobrias inhales pausily as he looks between Coop and Sarah. "Well, Coop's not really on the Vamp radar, so his safety isn't threatened. The Master vampire's name is Jonathan Hinterland. Our investigations show that he's been a vampire for at least 75 years. They also show that he's Talia Springfield's father. The going theory was fertilization of the mother from some forgotten sample. The only investigation, at this point, is why he'ld choose now to let us know that he has the coat and what this means about its former owner."
After a moment's pause he leans in "Do not go looking for Hinterland, or Talia." He says to Sarah and Coop. "Either one will land you in Hinterland's sites, and he's a master meaning he's hard enough to beat when you plan a full-on assault. When we know why he chose this action, we will know how to proceed. Understand?"

" No offense, but if the vamps are on to Sarah, then I'm in as much danger as she is." Coop replied, sitting up. " We stopped looking for Tally after she disappeared, and moved on. The last thing either of us want to do right now is pick a fight with a master vampire." He glanced at Sarah, looking for her agreement.

Sarah nods quietly at Coop and Tobrias. "Going after a master vampire would be foolish, unless you were very prepared and even then, it's very dangerous. I won't go looking for either Hinterland or Tally, but I have a feeling that they may be coming after me soon."

" Don't know, but the school is providing the entertainment , which struck us a little weird." Coop replied with a shrug. " The boss wanted to check it out." He grinned at Sarah.

"No. We'll give this to our police liason." Tobrias says. "They need to prove they're useful in the mayor's eyes, and to the public. A collar like this will garner them the rep they need to formally organize."
