T.I.E. Hunter

The Twin Ion Engine Hunter prototype is an Sienar Fleet System's thinktank design asked for by Admiral Zabian Hoursk to come up with a TIE to serve the same purpose as the Alliance's Bwing. What they came up with was the Hunter, based on the unproduced TIE Avenger platform but taken to a whole new level. Though a ponderous Class Two, it is one of the few TIEs that is fitted with a hyperdrive. The navigational computations are handled by an R3 astromech hardwired into the fighter, and is capable of storing up to eight sets of co-ordinates. Sublight speed is on par with a TIE bomber, but it's one downfall is atmospheric flight, where it handles like a drunken mynock due to it's weight.

The Hunter is also an experiment, being fitted with anatmospheric synthesizer to allow the pilots to breath without the confines of a TIE pilot's helmet, and a pair of shield generators to provide shields, a first among TIEs, though not overly reliable in testing after taking direct hits. The biggest design changes are in the weaponry.


The chin lasers have been removed, and replaced with a single ion cannon to give the Hunter a chance to disable opposing craft, and beneath it is an concussion missile launcher, though it only has a payload of four missiles. but those are only to soften us targets for the Hunter's big guns. Under each wing pylon is a cut down version capital grade twin laser cannon, with their energy generators. these guns recharge slowly, but a single shot is more than enough to punch through Alliance fighter shields or put a dent in a capital ship. Demonstrated in simulators, by pairing Hunters with faster Interceptors to help cover them, the Alliance is fortunate these fighters were not put into production.

Shady Past

- Modified Sorosuub Quasar-Fire Class Bulk Cruiser

The Shady Past started life as a Sullustan cargo vessel that was captured by a pirate band led by Marnus Craitt and convert into their flagship. Originally called the Sunset Contact, the pirates used the vessel as a staging point to launch their fighters and shuttles. They quickly began to specialize on supply vessels destined for Rebel Alliance bases. After a couple of months, some members of the crew began to become suspicious of their captain and his choice of targets, especially with allowing several targets that would have been much better paying jobs pass them by.




It was a short time later when First Mate Shayn Santannis discovered that they were in fact a privateer vessel for the Imperials, and getting paid credits that Craitt was sitting on and banking them in his personal account. She conversed with some of her closest shipmates, and two days later, they partook in a mutiny and seized control of the ship over Clak’Dor VII. Most of the crew, given a choice, sided with now captain Santannis. Those who stayed loyal to Craitt were loaded in the ship’s escape pods and jettisoned towards the planet. Shortly thereafter, the crew of the newly christened Shady Past made contact with the Alliance through the contacts of a survivor from their last raid. Santannis and her crew’s offer of her ship and crew were welcomed openly. The Past had her TIE’s removed for the Battle of Endor, instead used to ferry two squadrons of B-wings, including Lieutenant Commander Treego Lum’s Halberd squadron.


The Shady Past has been heavily modified from it’s days as a bulk freighter and is able to ferry up to forty snub fighters and two shuttles in it’s huge hangar, and two stock freighters in docking clamps on the hull brace. The neck of the cruiser is enlarged to carry more cargo and the standard bridge astromech droid was replaced with a sophisticated navicomputer. In addition to original weaponry, the Past also has four dual turbo laser turrets, ten quad laser turrets and twenty ion cannon emplacements along with heavier shielding to make it a much more combat ready vessel. There are also four heavy tractor beam projectors that are strong enough to hold vessels larger than the Past . These were used in the past to hold target vessels long enough for the shuttles to ferry raiding parties aboard.
