So I just got a copy of Splicers RPG, and it seems like a good game. Who else has it, and what did you think of it?

I got it a bit over a week ago and read it right through.
The setting has high potential, but they need to flesh it out more for it to be substantially different from other games about giant robots trying to kill the PC's.
I was disappointed with the robots weapon damages, in a play test I was in at origins I got killed by one lucky hit from an assault robot( This really wasn't a good thing, but someone has to pay when the party's techno-jacker starts lobing grenades around in the robots recreation of a human city, and your the one with the weapon that can cripple a giant robot in a few hits) Combat is still very difficult, but not as deadly as I want it be when your fighting 40' tall robots with huge gun arms.
The game really is at its best with bio-tech customization of your equipment, many, many options.

You're missing out on what looks like it's gonna be a good game, if you like straight up tech. Sen's right, the robots damage is a bit funky, but the overall hopeless feel of the characters gives it an edge that other Palladium books don't have. My only issue with it is that even after reading it over a few times, the robots still appear to have a "Terminator/ Matrix" feel to them( not that it is necessarily a bad thing, just not as original as I'd hoped).

unfortunately, to any astute observer, there is a lot of external sci-fi / fantasy / horror / cyberpunk influence evident among most of Palladium's work. can't say I've seen anything unique since Rifts Atlantis, bio-wizardry and tattoo magic, which is what hooked me. New West / Spirit West may be the possible exception, but I like to be able to play game versions of some of my favorite books and movies like Clive Barker's Cabal / Nightbreed by way of Nightspawn / Nightbane. what burns me most is Palladium's obvious hypocrisy reflected in their on-line conversion policy. seems to me Palladium has made most of it's business profit as one big overgrown gaming system conversion tool.

No that would be Gurps.
