" Why am I telling you this, anyways?" Beth suddenly asked herself out loud. She shrugged," Yeah, the young tough with the boat's owner. That's Lon. Uncle Carl is on the financial commitee, and he knows some of the mayors dealings aren't adding up. most of them the ones Lon is involved with." she smiled slightly," I'm not supposed to be telling anyone, but " She shrugged, then tilted the side of her head towards him again slightly.

Tom returns the smile. "Because you're on a boat, you don't know why, and stress makes you do strange things?" Tom then leans forward conspiratorially. "Any chance your uncle would be willing to share his financial data to help him track down what's really going on?"

Alice frowns, a little concerned as she notices the guy from the video seems to be watching Tom and Beth. However, the beating Avi seemed to be taking makes her wince and it annoys her to think he was doing it so he could impress Sasha. 'Stubborn fool!' she thinks to herself

Beth sat back. " I can't do that. I'm not even supposed to know, especially because I'm a reporter. I couldn't get ahold of them, let alone share with a stranger I only met five minutes ago."
The crowd was cherering even louder now as blood started to fly from the other side of the ring. A voice suddenly spoke to them. " Enjoying the show, ladies?" Ask a distinctly asain voice. while neither was looking, Lon had moved to their table.

"Let's just say your uncle isn't the only one who's not fond of the Mayor and his way of doing things. Let me know if you have any other ideas. " Tom replies.

Alice hides the surprise she feels to see Lon at their table and smiles politely at him. "It's.. a bit.. violent." She explains "It's my first time at a match like this. I wasn't sure what to expect. How are you enjoying it?" she asks him, attempting to scan his surface thoughts, wondering if he was there to just watch the fights or if he had another agenda.

Alice catches a glimpse of Lon's enjoyment of the violence before her contact is broken away. He leaned back with a sly grin. " Now that is a rude way to get to know someone. Isn't asking more polite." Behind them , a bell rings to signify the end of the round. while the other two move to the far side, Ryne helps avi to his feet. Avi shouted out through the ring towards Sasha and Alice," How are we doing?"
" I... I don't know." Beth replied nervously. " I could lose my job. Or my uncle could get removed from council if anyone found out I had this information, let alone gave it to a stranger."

"Madre de Dios," she thinks. "We can't pull the plug on this quick enough." |

Tom looks at her. "Well, for one thing, I'm no fan of the Mayor, or the fact that he has a private super goon squad. I remember something called the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. I remember this little thing, buzzing at the back of my skull about rights. I can also read history, so I know what happens when people create their own secret police."

Avi grinned, revealing one of his teeth was on the floor somewheres. " What, you mean we're not winning?" One of Greed's people brought them water and wiped them down. " don't worry Sasha. It's only two more rounds."

Tom shakes his head. "Yeah, silly me, thinking that once we give the government power over who they can detain under what circumstances without oversight will lead to trouble. Anyway, good luck." he waves as he wheels himself back inside.
